#19 (addendum) Well that was a bit of a struggle but finally got there. Soething wasn't quite right as my PC had a driver for the Note II yet the software kept telling me I hadn't. Anyway I tried to update the driver but it kept searching for ages then told me the driver wasn't installed. It seemed to be in a perpetual look. I then googled the net find a driver (supposedly from samsung) and installed it, rebooted and thought that was it. No, it still wasn't recognised.After a bit of faffing about it suddenly decided to install the driver (which I had already done!). This time, however, it must have installed properly as after booting I found I had now full access to my Note II as per the ApowerManager specs (VP Version).
A quick trial seemed to be Ok including sending a txt direct to my own mobile from my PC. This worked OK. Only glitch was that instead of two txts appearing (sent one and the received one) I had three. No big deal as it was easily deleted from my PC. Sending via my PC keyboard was the main reason I wanted the sofyware and it seems to achieve that no problem.
This is a keeper for me. Thank you GOTD and ApowerSoft.

Get the error R6034, an application tried to run the C runtime library incorrectly.

As there's only 35 mins left in todays offer, guess I won't get the chance to see if it is useful or not.
Also, nowhere did it ask me to enter the REG key

This is the 3rd time that I've followed the instructions, got a "look for our email" with no link or other information on how to download/access the GOTD. It's been over 4 hours with no email or other feedback about getting the giveaway.

If you don't really want to issue the giveaway, just state it in the daily email or on the landing page and don't waste our time with the fake out.

Struggling to get htis to work as Samsung Note II (GT-N7100) is not being recognised. Debugging is on but I cannot find a screen with the options shown in
https://www.apowersoft.com/community/topic/solutions-to-android-cannot-connect-to-apowermanager-via-usb.html. Appreciate help from anyone with Note II. The app doesn't say the Note II is incompatible but it looks like it.

When this software was offered previously, I downloaded and installed it and was quite happy with it, BUT I couldn't get it to save Whatsapp messages. I can only hope they have upgraded this version to enable a user to save Whatsapp messages to their computer.

Right now, I am still waiting for the 4-digit number to be sent to my email address, hopefully it will come within the next few hours before the giveaway ends.

This same version (3.1.8) of this program was offered here on 2018-05-02 (https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/apowermanager/). I compared the text of this Giveaway offer with the one from the past. The one difference is in the license statement at the end. For this offer, after the "NB: 1 year license" is the additional statement "The offer is valid for NEW ApowerManager users only. Old users can register with another e-mail to get the offer."

When I do an install, I capture every screen displayed to me, and if that screen has a location that requires me to enter data (such as an activation key), then I have a version before the data is entered and after the data is entered. That way, I can always go back and review how any install went. From looking at the steps I took for the last install of this program, it activated successfully (you have to enter the activation key twice). Even after activation, I was not able to get the program to connect, so I went back to a mini-usb cable, and was able to copy files off of the phone. It is actually a better way because many of these types of programs will group same-type items (such as Photos) together, even from different apps. I prefer to keep them separated by app, the same way they were on the phone. That way, I can always compare to see what new images I need to copy to the PC.

Even though the program did not work the first time, I left it installed.

Today, out of curiosity, I started it up again, and was not all that surprised to find that my install is no longer activated. The only way I can re-activate it is to supply another but different e-mail address. If Apowersoft does not have a problem with the same users trying out the software, then why should I have to come up with another e-mail address? Sure, I can do that, but the hassle isn't worth it. It takes time to set up a new e-mail address, and when it comes to installing the free app on the Smartphone, how many Google accounts are you going to use? Finally, it becomes pointless, because they can connect the Google profile with your new e-mail address anyway.

Due to seeing an increase in SPAM from all over and more marketing calls from my own country and International calls from other countries since the last install, I am not interested in giving Apowesoft another e-mail address that they can use for who knows what, even sell. Who would know or be able to prove one way or another?

The value of e-mail addresses sold on the open market is in "new unique" ones. That only reason a buyer goes back to purchase from the same supplier is to get "new" e-mail addresses, not the same ones they purchased last time. The seller does not care if the e-mail address is valid or not, only that they are different from any they have already in their database. If they can show to the buyer the e-mail addresses were gathered from users, they are off the hook as to whether they still work or not.

Developing an app or a program to give away has become a new way of collecting e-mail addresses. Apps installed on Smartphones now require so many permissions beyond what is needed for the task they perform; it works because most users do not check. By collecting all of the additional (unnecessary) data, analysis can be applied to derive a profile of a user, and what type of ads they most likely will respond to. It is the new form of gathering personal data, without requesting lots of personal data (such as things besides your e-mail address). The consumer never knows what is taking place in the background. A PC program (such as a Smartphone Manager) that also requires installing a free app on the Smartphone is an ideal situation to gather data from both sides.

Regardless of published Privacy policies, no one can easy prove what happens to the data collected. Since it is an International issue, there is no way of easily proving guilt or innocence. The user is left with the gamble.

It wouldn't matter to me how great this program works; the risks are not worth it.

I had the software - just got it from last GOTD offer and then Windows crashed just last week. Of course after a in-place re-install, the software was gone. It had only been a couple of months and do remember having trouble getting the registration done before. When I open up 'my account' from inside the software - it offers me to sign in, done. It shows 'trial version' - when I click on 'vip' it takes me to the site to purchase. No place to input the registration code? I have also searched the site to see if the registration is there to no avail.
If memory serves me correctly - when I click on account from inside software. The drop down menu should offer 'register' and it does not? I uninstalled it and re-installed to see if I missed something to no avail.
This is WONDERFUL software and do hope someone offers advice on how to register it.

I've been running Apowersoft Phone Manager Pro version 2.71 from a January 2016 Giveaway, and it has always performed well. I use it about 95% of the time to transfer pictures from my phone to my desktop, which is does very quickly either over wi-fi or USB.

It will also do a full phone backup, BUT will only restore to the same phone, so you can't use the version I have to backup an old phone and restore to a new one. I don't know about backup/restore on the current Giveaway.

The only issue I've had is that the Android app kept updating, and at some point was no longer compatible with the old desktop version I had. I had to find an older Android version online and revert to it, and then tell Google to never update it again.

I wanted to try this new version, but I won't give up my older lifetime version which works just fine (for now) on my Samsung S9+ for a year of this newer version.

Please do not let this message keep you from trying the program. Just a possible word of warning. I tried this once before, and around the time i installed it on two machines, I lost recognition of my DVD drives on both machines. May have been ApowerManager, or some other reason or program. I suspected ApowerManager because it creates a pseudo drive (my words).

It does not work at all. You will be forced for a like in Facebook (before you had a chance to see the application), and they forced to register and give your E-mail. After you have installed the software, and connected the phone (which you can access to via Win file manager), the application still does not see it, in the help they suggest to select the MTP mode (in Android 7.1?? charging, file transter and Midi modes are available only), so the mobile can't be managed by the program. It is absolutelly useless for me, I wasted my time. I think it is just for phishing.

i've never been lucky to register a software from this company, "Apowersoft"
to register they need you to create an account, in a pop up window from the installed app, but in all the cases I've been getting internet problem despite of having good internet connection!
the error message I always get is ;
"Unable to connect to remote server
Error code; -2146697211
(INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND)

I tried the last version of this program and I was deeply disappointed. I wanted to use it to download files and photos but you must have a YIP account which cost extra. I said free VIP but only for 1 month. I'll pass on this one and just use my USB plug to download.

I tried to link it to my tablet but the Play Store says "Your device isn't compatible with this version". So not exactly universally compatible, is it? Surprising for an Android control panel. My tablet is Android 6.0.1, by the way. Uninstalling, I guess.

Unnecessarily Cumbersome software. Nonfriendly user interface.
WiFi App asks for tons of permissions.
Many free alternative Apps available.
