For those that have issues with the software, I recommend this...

Use a sandbox to see ALL files that are being installed. If your worried about the software and what gets installed or even possible trouble uninstalling if you just don't like it.

Sandboxie is free and you can then test out software and decide to commit the changes and keep it or revert changes and it goes poof like it was never there.
You can test any software installs using it.

I wish that GAOTD would stop using the reCaptcha check to validate if you are a real person and would instead generate a 4 digit number for you to enter to verify that you are not a robot. My eyesight is not that great in seeing all the fine details of the pictures that you have to check and some of those images are blurry to begin with.

Starchild, I completely agree with you on this. Those things drive me up a wall. On some sites you have to do them 3 or 4 times to get through. Recently I have found a few places which now require a phone number either instead of, or in addition to, an email address to join the site or a mail list. There are a few of us that don't have a phone or do not want our phone numbers given out willy nilly to anyone. One Social Media site has blocked me out for 'security' reasons and wants a phone or a copy of my drivers license or birth certificate to get back in to my page....that's just plan nuts and I refuse to do any of that. So they have lost a customer they have had since 2011. Also I jump right off sites that require me to not use a private browser session or refuse entry if I am using a VPN. Sorry for the rant, but this stuff has been bugging me.

As for the current software offering today, I don't have an iphone and actually don't know but a few folks who do...those things are darn expensive and an android works just as well. A lot of folks seem to be attached at the hip to their phones....guess I am just old but that seems really stupid to me.

If they switch to ReCaptcha version 3, it will solve the problem for users and for GOTD. It is known as the "Invisible ReCaptcha" and no longer requires users to select images. Based on many other factors, version 3 can detect if you are human or not.
