Please don't worry, the problem will be solved and we are sorry for the inconvenience!

Helen, I am getting the one-day license duration and I do not have previous version installed. I do OWN Aomei partition assistant. Please resolve this problem.

Helen
I have a previous AOMEI Backupper Pro version 4.0.2 that is LIFETIME.

I would like to install this newer Pro version 6.6.0 BUT only 1-year license, WITHOUT losing the LIFETIME Pro v 4.0.2

Is there any way I can install 6.6.0 in another directory/drive without losing the LIFETIME v4.0.2?

If not, I will pass. A LIFETIME v4.0.2 is more valuable to me and others than a 1-year 6.6.0. \

In the future, please consider allowing a limited 1-yesr version to be installed WITHOUT removing older version.

Thank you
An AOMEI fan

TK,
Thank you very much for the suggestion. I am not sure how to 'transfer' the old Lifetime v 4.0.2 to bootable flash drive and back after one year after 6.6.0 expires.
IT seems very iffy, I'll look it up, but I don't want to risk losing a working Lifetime Pro version .

Helen,

I am looking for an answer from AOMEI.

Thank you both

Helen , I'm also getting the warning it expires in one day but I have a new computer that has never had any Aoemi program on it so your solution does not work. How do I get this to work please?

Reply   |   Comment by Maddy  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Same thing here. I did have V6.5.0 installed, but noticed that the new version wanted to install to a different location, so I uninstalled the old version, removing the old license, and installed this version. It indicated that it registered successfully, offered me a 50% discount on something (lifetime license maybe?), and all looked great until... Now like many others, it indicates that my license expires in 1 day.

Hoping that it's just a fluke and it will keep working. The old version was working perfectly, and I had a valid license until next March with it...

I just followed the instructions at #5 but I still get the same expire in1 day message.

I uninstalled, said no to keeping reg info, rebooted and re-installed, entered key again, same message 'expire in 1 day'.

Dear Helen ,
A bug or some other problem always comes up, be it software or anything else in life. Maybe GOTD has nothing to do with this, maybe it's AOMEI to solve but, something has to be done, today. If not, I'll just turn back to the previous version, with its licence still active. Yes, I made a system partition backup just prior to this uninstalling and installing of 660.

Helen , could you please respond re whether GOTD has any further suggestions, or if GOTD advises those of us that downloaded this yesterday but it's expired today and now says it has 30 days restricted use should contact AOEMI instead? You wrote 'Please don't worry, the problem will be solved' but it hasn't been and you haven't commented again? Thanks

Maddy,
you have 2 options:
1. contact the developer directly as they are aware of the problem and
will respond all the users.
2. wait till we have the program re-run on our site, hopefully this month.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Well here we are, it's the next day after my "1-day left" of my 1-year license, and it now indicates that my license is expired and I'm in a "30-day Restricted Use" mode. I attempted to use the registration code again, just to see, but no dice. It indicates that the "Register Failed, Invalid Registration Code. Please Repurchase the Registration..." blah blah.

I'm VERY disappointed as I was actually using V6.5.0 for daily backups, which was good until MARCH 2022. Now I have a worthless lump of code on my system. Something should be done for all of us, as this giveaway was a huge BUST. I've yet to see any posts by anybody indicating that the registration actually worked for them, and they got the full 1-year, which is a pretty good indication that this giveaway fell flat on its face, unfortunately.

While I'm very thankful to both GAotD and Aomei for this giveaway, It just didn't work this time. Please consider a redo on this giveaway, as it's quite obvious nobody benefited from this last one.

Helen ,

Thank you. I did contact the developer, and they indicated that there is a bug in V6.6. They very graciously provided me with a download link to V6.5.1, along with a working License Key.

For anybody else that was relying on the backups from a previous installation that got messed up by this, I'd suggest contacting the developer. They will get you up and running again.

Everybody else who never had it installed before this giveaway should probably wait for the re-release. Having a previous installation could potentially complicate the installation of the re-release. That and you weren't using it before, so what's another couple weeks anyway?

Giveaway about to end, and I've installed this AOMEI Backupper Pro 6.6.0 that still says it will expire tomorrow but no solutions here to all the people saying they have this same problem - very disappointing the manufacturer does not seem to care. I am very careful of what I install on my brand new computer but thought this program would be great, so will be following up with AOMEI re this giveaway in the hope they can fix the issue and have not wasted my time now leaving me removing all traces of a useless program if not. I think GOTD is great so hope this will be finally resolved.

I followed the installation instructions twice and still only show a one day license.
I had to uninstall a previous version of the program so now I have no version of the program. This has been a very frustrating experience.

Seeing that many people have this problem I suggest AOMEI and the GOTD team resolve this issue and offer again.

I have the prior 6.4.0 version installed which expires next March. I would've loved to upgrade and extend the license, but there are too many posts about 1 day only issues. I noticed the reply from the vendor said "please uninstall it without saving the license info and reboot the PC." How do you not save the license info?

I'm not willing to try uninstalling my working 6.4.0 to see if perchance it will pop up a box asking me about the license info. Other people have posted they uninstalled first and still had the 1 day issue. So I will skip this giveaway until next time when I hope the vendor resolves these issues.

Installation/Registration problem still not solved!
1. Uninstalled previous version, 1-day validity indicated.
2. Uninstalled newly installed version 6.6.0 discarding license info, restarted PC.
3. Started setup v 6.6.0 again -> "Setup found that a restart is required to perform the DEinstallation. Please restart PC and try the program again."
4. Restarted PC, started installation v 6.6.0 -> same error message; checked for residuals of old installation, found nothing.
So what ??

They don't give you an option to choose the installation path.
You just have to blindly accept wherever they decide to install their program.

And again, their uninstaller arased my Programs icons (64 and 32 bit) on the screen of another computer.
Not only that, it wouldn't allow me to boot my computer unless I remove all external harddrives.

I think AOMEI is overrated, and they need to fix their programming procedures.

I have tried to install this several times - it installs opens and when I press register button opens, I enter the activation code I was given click activate - I comes back with activation successful. Then the activation window will not close! It just starts the cursor spinning and after a long period of this I tried to close it and get a notification that the program is not responding "close" or "continue to wait for program" I've tried this over and over - Same thing again or it says activation fails and locks up!! all the while advertising 50% off on an upgrade to a lifetime license.
DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED!!

Have used AOMEI Backupper in the past, biggest issue was that there was no option to verify that the backup taken was reliable before needing it. Ran into a situation requiring a reinstall of the OS, and when I went to use my latest backup, the backup was corrupt. Needed to go to a backup that was 3 versions old, and lost months worth of data (was taking one backup per month at that time.)

Is this something that has changed, such that after taking the backup, it can verify that the backup is reliable?

Before having installed this version of AOMEI Backupper I had uninstalled an its older version, but their uninstaller removed my Programs icon from my desktop.
It is not a big deal, as I was able to replace it, but the question arises: why is AOMEI doing it?

I already have a fully licenced copy of this software and can say that it is one of the best backup utilities I've used to date. It's possible to made recovery media either on CD,DVD or USB which can be used when booting up to recover your disk images. I've used the disk image recovery option once because I was stupid enough to mess with the registry and messed up.

"What happens if I need to restore my backup after one year?"

1) It's possible that like earlier AOMEI giveaways it keeps working beyond 1 year.

2) If it does expire it will likely revert to the free version, or you could install the free version if necessary. You can see the difference between free & pro versions at: ubackup[.]com/free-backup-software.html

Is it possible to get a portable version in order to bypass o.s?

Reply   |   Comment by EDDIE  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

EDDIE, there is an option to make a recovery medium, either on CD, DVD or flashdrive that will allow you to restore disk images at boot up. Suggest you set the backup schedule to do regular backups. Files and folders can be recovered without the use of any recovery media. Been using for years and never had any problems.

Reply   |   Comment by NetMan  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

"Is it possible to get a portable version in order to bypass o.s?"

Disk/partition image backup software uses drivers which have to be installed -- the only way to get a portable version is to make one yourself [there are a few free tools for that], where the drivers are installed before the app runs, then removed when you shut the app down.

AOMEI backup & partitioning software does include, in the program's folder, a copy of the software designed to run on WinPE. You can create a bootable USB stick running WinPE with Backupper Pro, or create a generic bootable USB stick running WinPE using the Windows ADK [*may* be more compatible] and run the WinPE version of Backupper Pro after booting to that.

AJPeabody, not 100% sure but I think it reverts to the free version, which has certain options disabled. I've used the free option and it works perfectly, even allows you to make complete images of your hard drives. The disabled options don't hinder you backing up and restoring your files.

Reply   |   Comment by NetMan  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

AJPeabody, Nothing happens the free version is 100% capable of restoring, reading mounting the backups it just is limited by which type of backups it can do. In fact when it makes a USB recovery disk all it does is create a Free version of backupper on the usb drive.
