Dear users,

If you are having issues with the activation of the product, you may need to temporarily disable your anti-virus suite. This is a well known false positive reaction to the protection system that we use to prevent unauthorized installations/activations after the end of the promotion.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Giveaway of the Day,

With all due respect,
It would have been awesome if GOTD stopped using the wrapper. It (=the wrapper) is a major irritant to many, many visitors to this site, especially to those visitors who know that disabling Antivirus, even for several minutes, opens a chance for some malicious hackers to sneak through to our computers and/or inject malicious code.

Antivirus programs are being installed for a reason-namely to prevent harm to our computers.

Respectfully,

consuella

Hello consuella,

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Unfortunately, we cannot completely abandon the wrapper, since some of the developers don't have the means to introduce a protection system of their own specifically for the giveway campaign. In many cases it's either we offer our wrapper protection or developers have to turn down our offer.

Our team constantly works to find a different protection mechanism, but using the wrapper has proven to be the most effective for the moment.

We do understand your concern regarding the anti-viruses, but we'd like to note that the safety of our community is as important for us as the safety of the software developers. We always check the files we get by various anti-virus engines before we upload them to our servers and we would never allow malicious files on our website.

Once again we would like to apologize for the inconveniences.

Always yours,
GOTD team

its just not meant for me to have this program. No matter what I try, I can't install it and it isn't because of my antivirus program. I posted earlier with no response. Just going to uninstall this and chalk it up as a loss.

Downloaded, installed on Win10/64 with no problems, and so far like it - great interface. Will now design a web page to instruct people on how to read the "readme.txt" file, so they can install programs, too! Luv that the activation is right in the dl package.

I have used Template Toaster and WebsiteX5 give aways and this one (Antenna Web Design) is by far the easiest and cleanest to use. Installed on Win 7 Ultimate 64x with no installation or activation issues. Created three websites using the wizard and had no issues. Easy to use, easy to export to custom folders and easy to upload using FTP functionality. Nice giveaway - thanks!

Effortless download, extract, run, activate. Why do people have so much trouble with this?

I like this program, I was looking for something to learn web design on independant of online packages - I especially appreciate the thoughtfully written Help pages. And the whole interface looks approachable and understandable. Even friendly.

thanks very much Stormdance and GAOTD.

I refuse to use IE and never set it up on this computer after I built it. Will this program work with Opera or if need be FireFox?

Reply   |   Comment by LComeno  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

LComeno, I did test it on a Win10-Pro and the preview was in Edge.
I think, that the preview will be done in the browser, that is set to be the standard.
If you set Opera as standard browser, I think the preview will be in Opera.

Hello, one BIG question, can this create web responsive sites as well as sites for small devices??? Hmm. catch that ball Antenna...!

Reply   |   Comment by Man  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-12)

Man,
Unfortunately this web design software does not create responsive sites. There own site as well as sample sites they show are not responsive. Every thing placed on the developed site is placed with a absolute value. Go to their website and view the source code.

Well theres a hour of my life I will never get back!
I Installed it I tried it and I uninstalled it.
Not for me at all.
There are far better programs and at $59 for the full version! IMO that way over priced.

Looks promising, but is a closed system. One of the 'use us and nobody else' packages. Open it up so that you can edit existing sites and do single pages. Way too much overkill just to trap users into only using your product.

Installed, tested, uninstalled. I'm sorry guys but there are a bunch of free html editors available that run circles around this Antenna. By the way, as a telecommunications engineer I can't understand the meaning of the name, cause I see no relation of this program with electromagnetic waves.

Reply   |   Comment by Luis  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+32)

Luis,
At first I also thought it was a CAD program for designing radio antennas.

I have a website/domain and have been using [free] Komposer for over 11 years to write and maintain the site (Locouki).

"Antenna" has some additional features like "smooth gradient backgrounds" which are handy to have built in if you like the appearance. But for my semi technical website I find them distracting.

It is good to see some more technical offerings on GOTD. Thank you Stormdance and GOTD for presenting these programs.

Luis, would you mind and tell us of these advanced free editors?

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+11)

M. H., I don't know if more advanced or not but here are some examples:
https://www.thoughtco.com/best-free-html-editors-for-windows-3471313
As far as I'm concerned I use Dreamweaver (the original one by the way, not the last from Adobe.)

Luis,
How about some info about those free editors. Like names or links...

Reply   |   Comment by Bob McIntyre  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Bob,
Have a look at Microsoft Expression Web 4 (Free Version) at https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=36179 which is the final version of Expression Web, and Microsoft decided to make it free. IMHO it's quite a decent WYSIWYG editor, one that many people overlook or don't know about.

Another is Komposer, at http://kompozer.net/ or https://sourceforge.net/projects/kompozer/

Also there's the W3C-sponsored editor Amaya, at https://www.w3.org/Amaya/ which is a little bit old but still good.

Tony Austin,
Thanks muchly. I had forgotten about Expression Web. I used to use it a lot when I was doing web sites, long before it became free. And I just installed Kompozer the other day. So I'm probably good now. Thanks again...

Luis, the link with the list you have posted just lists (HTML) text editors, but no web-specific IDE as Antenna here...

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Tony Austin, Thanks for the list of apps. I used to use Microsoft Frontpage and ended up resorting to TwistPad, so it's nice to see Microsoft finally release an updated editor.

Well, I don't get it. You can d/l from the site with a 17 day (?) license to try. Seems the same as offered here as a GoTV.

Hi dryadsdad, Remember to run GiveAwayOfTheDay's Activate program after Setup to activate your full license.

Reply   |   Comment by J  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

dryadsdad, It is a zip file which must first be extracted. Then run the exe file. Then run the activation file. It is fully licensed, with no updates.

Reply   |   Comment by Jeff Wilson  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Jeff Wilson, Correction: After extraction, run the setup.exe file, then the activate.exe file. (sorry)

Reply   |   Comment by Irene  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-8)

J, can you please explain how to activate the full licence as I tried to run the Activate program but all it did was to send me to a GAOD page. Thanks.

Reply   |   Comment by Irene  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Irene, first, did you close the GOTD-program?
After closing, you can run Activate; sometimes this program needs administrator-rights.
Then the GOTD-program should be registered.

Reply   |   Comment by Ootje  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

Ootje, I did. After closing everything, I ran Activate and it says that it is successfully activated and when I close the little popup window, I am brought to this link: https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/antenna-web-design-studio-6-4/?activate.

That is just the GOTD page.

Irene, Maybe all is OK.
Did you check About:

And the page from GOTD: this one is always seen with an Activate.

Just trying this out. I Like some things so far but can't figure out the drop down menu thing. looking at the help file when I inset a menu mine looks nothing like that and when I double click to get into the text editor it doesn't give me anywhere to add items.

Reply   |   Comment by philb100  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+13)

Hi philb100, Type items one per line after the menu title - there's a Link button alongside in the Properties palette. In your browser you'll see the menu open smoothly and linked items will highlight.

Reply   |   Comment by J  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

The problem I have is I insert the menu, double click it, the box gets larger but I cannot put my cursor in or type anything.

If i put the cursor next to the word menu and go to the next line i can type but it does not work as a drop down they just all show up together when i preview it.

I do my web browsing as a standard user and provide administrator credentials only as required. The installer requires admin rights, which is normal and fine. But Activate.exe only activates this program for the administrator account, not for all users. I had to change my standard account to an admin account to activate this program for that account, then change it back.

Activate.exe also attempts to change the browser settings. Otherwise, no installation issues.

Hi Steve, Yes the Visual HTML object has Body, Head and Session tabs. Code in the Session tab appears before the html tag.

This program requires Windowsupdate to be all the way on and running. No program should make those kinds on demands.
