Ant Download Manager (AntDM) is a tool that allows you to repeatedly increase the speed of file downloads due to multiple download streams, resume, schedule downloads, capture and download audio and video streams.

Automatically processes download errors, recovers from temporary network errors, reconnects in case of server response delays, has the ability to resume interrupted downloads due to loss of connection, network problems, computer shutdown, or unexpected power outages.
The standard GUI for softwares of this class makes AntDM friendly and easy to use. It has two screens – the first is more common for regular downloads and the second is using video preview for easy tracking of video downloads.
Has download queues, which allows you to accumulate download links at a convenient or scheduled time for the user.
Supports proxy-servers, HTTP and FTP file protocols and their protected versions of HTTPS and FTPS, as well as the main streaming protocols for audio and video content M3U8, MPEG-DASH, VIMEO-STREAM, firewalls, redirects, cookies, authorization, processing of audio and video content.
Supports BitTottrent a P2P (peer-to-peer) file sharing protocol.

Problem is when there is an update the updater will not progress. If installing the update through their website the Give Away of the Day version reverts to a trial mode.

Can't get this to install. The installation popups close before I can tick the proper boxes. Says it's activated but it put no shortcut on the desktop and I can't find it in Program Files or x86.

Alan, did you read the readme.txt about the problems some experience with the setup.exe/gcd plus themidia wrapper and follow the advice given? If not then it's too late anyway... next time you see either activate.exe/gcd and or setup.exe/gcd in the giveaway bundle, read the readme.txt and follow the advice... Then again read the readme.txt on every giveaway you participate in it often contains relevant if not critical information on the specific giveaway!

Does this software allow one to download an on-screen video from its URL? This seems to be the component missing from most download management apps.

I have purchased many softwares from publishers introduced here and this will probably be included after I try it out.
Many thanks to the ones who offer lifetimes as this intices people to at least to try them out. The ones that don't offer
just get the delete key as I am not going to waste my time on them.

Will it improve qBittorrent download speeds and does it require special instructions to do that.

rww, the bittorrent client is very simple, can't even get it to seed to a certain percent to give back to the swarm... once it's downloaded it shuts off.... a very bad mannered subset of a bittorrent client.

I had an old version of Ant download installed which is 64bit. When I went to install this version it was 32 bit. Is there any difference?

Gaz, I seen the same thing and decided not to on my 64bit system, as my version of ADM is just under this one and I have no idea what the update in comparison is about

anna, too much different adm can download mp3 directly from youtube but idm can't download

Rashmi, adm cannot download mp3 directly from youtube as youtube do not provide any audio in mp3 file format, they store audio in a different format, usually AAC encoded MP4 audio and it is lossily re-encoded to mp3 on the fly... NOT desirable unless your media player does not support the native MP4 audio format.

shegeek72, I agree with you. I have also tried several others, and without a doubt Ant is the best. Uninstalled my previous version and installed this one with no problems. Worked perfectly on my first download.
