First...it says Fold Lock...not bragging about encryption.
Second...it's there when I do a reboot.
Third...glad to see the people who can't read are still around.
Of course there are more secure programs, free and paid...but if you just want to keep a couple of files or folders
away from other users, this works great.
Depending on the size of the folder, if you want to use a stronger encryption method, than be prepared to wait a
day and a half for it to do so.
Some people always seem to over analyze everything on this site.
Guess it makes them feel special or something.

Mothman, If you are referring to Ootje's post, which I believe you are, glad you did not read it, either. If you notice, it stated that files were not there if the software was shut off (expired, no longer working etc), and that re-installing software never showed them again. To me that is not "over analyzing" but it is pointing out an issue.
And when a folder does get locked for security purposes, be nice to know what encryption it uses to "lock it"

Mothman, They were not there after the software was "turned back on" either. I've used similar programs, and you can see the files if you "turn off" the software...that plus I don't need Linux to discover another "hidden" hidden file.

Did a test in Win10 on some files and maps. Locked also Hidden.
After a reboot of Windows and restart without the GOTD-software the files/maps were not accessible.
BUT after a re-installation of the software I could not open the files and maps.
Restarted the PC with Linux there was more info:

Ootje, thank you for your always helpful comments and pics. I always stay away from GOTD encryption offers for this reason, unless I am compelled to buy them immediately. This reason being that my data could easily be left inaccessible if I lose the original installation.
Note for English speakers: Dutch 'map'= English 'folder'. I learned this the hard way once when I thought I was downloading a "map" of a friend's 1TB stackstorage account.

Ootje, That is a huge flaw, Ootje. Thanks for pointing to it. Who wants to go through hoops to find their files, and it also shows if the software is uninstalled, need to be a magician to find them again.

In Dutch sometimes I call it also folder, and sometimes map.
So now it's easier to call it folder.
Some years(40) ago I could read a English books/detectives. I missed only 20 words a page. But with some imagining I "translated" them, so the story could go on.

If I lock my flash drive from my PC how do I unlock it at a different location / PC? Other similar free software resides on the flash drive to accomplish this.

Use AxCrypt, FlashCrypt etc which are freeware and really great products.

Brilliant software - I would suggest that once you open a locked folder that when you have closed the folder after use it should automatically relock. Currently when you open a locked folder and then close it remains unlocked. However I do like this software Many Thanks...

Zen , Odd...yesterday, as you noticed and I remarked to (although looks as thou it did not make it) it was in fact #6, as it looked as thou another post was removed. I distinctly remember it being #7...now it is #7 again, with Kate's post taking up #6??
