Downloaded, Installed and registered on Windows 8.1 with no problems.
And that is where the "no problems" stop.
Started to import my music (mp3) collection and "...database has stopped working" window and then close.
Tried different options running the program (admin, compat. mode, combination of both etc.) but same problem.
Simply would not run past import and then close.
Uninstalled.

Many of the good features don't work if your music is mostly .wav files. For everyone using compressed or lossless formats, however, it's a very good piece of software!

The GUI is HORRIBLE! You can't read the titles, and it's extremely poorly laid out.
Good idea...but very badly done.

Last time I installed previous version it stop working after a few months. It was useless for me because I haven't enough time to test software, I hope this time it works better with much longer test period.

I'm always cautious with these database programs that scan your PC, connect to an outside source and "verify" your data. Using a program, such as zone alarm can help detect egress software when it tries to phone home and not allow it outbound traffic. There are others that do this but for your normal user, it works in a pinch. I really don't want any of my programs uploading any details about my data. Thanks but I will live with my dupes and half backed naming methods.

I'm not wasting bandwidth again today on this. I'm looking for a music manager that can handle both MP3 and CD, vinyl, etc. MP3 sound is not that great, so I still enjoy my CD music and there are people with vinyl collections that need a database manager that can retrieve album art, tags etc. for the tracks (if available). Having a program that can handle both is a must. MP3 file managers are a dime a dozen and mostly free.
I tried the previous version and uninstalled it because it couldn't do this. With that said, I'm willing to be wrong. I did not see anything on their site that indicated this program will handle a CD collection without ripping the CD to file. If someone can comment as to whether or not this program has this feature, I would appreciate it.
If this feature is not included, the following is a suggestion for the developer:
- Include the ability to include CD and other physical music formats
- Include entry by title, performer, etc.
- Do NOT require that the CD be ripped to the hard drive to be include it in the database
- allow entry by bar code, both single and multiple bar codes. It doesn't need a bar code reader, just the ability to accept a data list.

The All My Songs Database Version 2.3 given away by GOTD on 27 Oct 2013 installed itself in C:\Windows\AllMySongs Database folder of my PC.
You are not given any choice.
Of course I got rid of it.
This is a symptom of very low quality program coding.
Karl reports that this Version 2.4 has not remedied that failure.
Tried Music-Collection and MP3 Organizer PRO suggested by Jahid; and both the portable freewares look good.

*KCatalog
* Mp3tag for flawless batch tagging.

I just want to say briefly that while MP3Tag isn't really a comparable app to today's GOTD App, when you finish checking out today's GOTD Offer, checking out MP3Tag won't be a waste of time for most, it's really nicely written, has lots of cool features, and is constantly updated.

Thank you for the freeware suggestions.
I have been defending Winamp as the solution for all of this in the past, especially the tag-update functionality, but after they sold the software and announced "new updates will come" (they were thinking of closing it all down, but claim "this solution was better for all",) no new updates has come, and the tagging functionality (updating from internet, review before updating files) has not been working (no connection to the internet database?)
Winamp still works as a music player, and with some plugins like the MusicIP mix you still get decent "player abilities", but without internet tag-update, I am looking for a replacement.
I will look into these suggestions, hopefully I will find what I am looking for somewhere. (135.000 tracks is not something one manages in a file-manager.)

Installed with problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system...
A company without name and address. We had a previous version AllMySongs Database 2.3 on October 27, 2013. Here are the old reviews:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/allmysongs-database-2-3/
An absolute no-go is the default installation directory : c:\AllMySongs Database
To the installation process. The installer tries to install some system files
http://i.imgur.com/RwNGVBt.png
which conflicts with some existing files, resulting in my case in a shared violation access :

This is not the way an installation should work... at least the software producer says:
System Requirements: Windows 2003/ Vista/ XP/ 7 (x32/x64) Win 8.x is missing.
I'm always happy to make new installations in a virtual environment, so I does not mess up a working system.
Result: could not test it -> Uninstalled via reboot.
Think always, that this kind of software collects all information about media files of your computer and sends these information to an unknown server. No, there isn't any privacy statement on the homepage.
Screen shots made my freeware Greenshot 1.2.4 - which I use from now on.
Happy New Year to all!

Thanks, Karl, for the road test. Last time I encountered this software, its developer's name wasn't "OptWin Software". That said: a name change means nothing, as does OptWin's membership of so-called Software Industry Professionals, a pay-up-and-join outfit that doesn't even keep a publicly accessible member register. What actually means something is that a change of developer name clearly hasn't brought with it a change in AllMySongs bad habits: it says much for the standards of "Software Industry Professionals" that as with the predecessor version, so with this, the program continues to dump itself straight into C:\. Failure to do anything about that is really discouraging: I'd have been curious to know if the lock-up problems I experienced with the earlier version have been resolved this time around, but as the developer seems too lethargic to even fix a simple default installation routine it seems pointless to hope for changes elsewhere. This developer's continued resort to questionable "endorsements" is also off-putting: Softpedia's "all clear to download" symbol is not and never has been a software performance award; all the other "awards" on the OptWin website are equally dubious. Ah well.

Versions 2.2 and 2.3 have been offered in the past. You can look up those comments but to save you a little time both came in at only 32% thumbs up. If you want a simple catalog program, take a look at Cathy. I use the to keep track of the songs on my MP3 players to eliminate duplicates. It's free, it's portable, it's fairly powerful as you can perform standard searches, searches by name, and for duplicates. I also use it in a separate folder for my movies and TV shows. You can check it out here...
