On installing the software it starts off with the message "removing applications". Does anyone know to what this is referring? Does it simply mean calling the installation from the download cache or is it something more sinister? I think that if it were the latter, it wouldn't have been mentioned, but I am concerned. Anyone know?

I skip this giveaway.
Unable to say whether this software is good or bad.
I don't agree with the concept of a shotgun approach.
When I download photos, I have to be selective.
If you download 108,000 photos just to find 3 that you like, what is the point?
There is too much effort checking through the mess that you downloaded.
It is a waste of hard disk space.
A waste of time and Internet bandwidth resources.

Don't know what I'm missing but I "save" hundreds of pixs with simply "right click" and click "save as", none of this complicated "Stuff'........OR......if I just want a pix that's on the screen, I use "Print Screen", think it's free....and it's only takes seconds........sometimes I just go to "FILE" and save as "PDF" as I can always copy it from there.
So did I miss something with the software?????

Does not work with Instagram. I signed in as instructed, it said there were 12 photos to download (there are more like 2,000) and it crashed without doing a thing. Useless.

Installed and registered ok on Win10pro 64 system. Trying to dl images from my pinterest page. Even tho I'm logged in I keep getting the error "You need to login site to continue downloading pictures, click "finish" after successful login." I've tried login before starting the spider dl process and also by starting the dl process and login during those steps. both ways fail. Any ideas?

Also don't like that it only supports Explorer/Edge and is much to cumbersome.

I think I'll stick with my handy Firefox addon - Save Images (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/save-images/?src=api). It's highly configurable, quick and easy to use (select from right click options or toolbar button), filters, keyboard shortcuts, various image formats, can configure regular expressions, lots of save options (naming for multiple files etc), can open and save linked images. Can you tell I like it.

Same problem here: my GMail address is incorrect... Additionlly: is this version "2.0.0" as stated in the title or 1.0.0 as written in the URL?

System requirement:
"..... Dot Net 4.5, .Net Framework installed; Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013...."
Are we going back to win 98 or ahead to win 10, why do we need thousands of pictures downloaded to our computer and why download copyrighted pictures, to put us in trouble?
A simple short cut to the pictures we want is better solution, some of those pictures are in Mega bytes and an SSD drive will fill in no time. Some web sites have tremendous number of pictures (in GigaBytes) and it is not possible to download them all, a system crash will be in order, uninstalled.

The publisher's registration page is badly broken, to the point where it apparently refuses to accept any email address where the username contains a period.

Luckily, the page immediately displays the registration code rather than emailing it -- it claims to also email it but doesn't seem to actually do so -- so you can just enter a fake email address without a period to get the code.

In fact, that's probably a good idea anyway since they're giving everyone the same code, so they're presumably collecting email addresses for the sole purpose of spamming you.

The program itself consistently crashes with an "unknown software exception" when I try running it, so I couldn't test it. (It's possible that this is related to the fact that I was running it inside a Sandboxie sandbox, but most everything else runs just fine there. In any case, I wasn't willing to install it outside the sandbox just to try it out.)

I was also rather annoyed that the installer requires Internet access solely so that it can download a copy of vcredist_x86.exe (Microsoft's Visual C++ runtime); there's no reason that couldn't be bundled in the installer and it shouldn't even be needed in the vast majority of cases since I'd imagine that almost everyone already has it installed.

Jim Stone, you (and others) have convinced me to give this offering a pass. As an aside, I just wanted to point out that if you have a Gmail address with a period and run into a problem like this, just enter your address without the period. Gmail ignores periods to the left of the @. You will receive mail whether it's addressed to yourname@gmail.com or y.o.u.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com.

After reading the comments; a matter of routine before deciding which programs I download; I think I'll give this one a pass.
I would like to say I agree wholeheartedly with "Mike OD".
What's the point when windows already provides this service?
Also, much thanks to all those who frequently voice their opinions regarding the various programs offered by GOTD.
Your honest appraisals prove invaluable to the decision making process.
And thanks to GOTD for many years of continued quality and professionalism.

Finds numerous pictures; then says album is empty & doesn't download anything at all. I believe I'll stick to Bulk Image Downloader, at least it does as it claims.

D/L and installed ok with one issue on win7.x64, code provided by email succeeded.
Issue during install was failure to install c++ 2013.x86 perhaps because it was already installed and the software didn't detect it? Not sure but skipping the issue and installing anyway did work. (So if your having an issue maybe a good idea to download and install the microsoft C++ 2013 x86 redistribute on your own first).

Now onto the program, It seems of little use as it only hooks into internet explorer (augh, cough, yetch).

Say you normally login to Pinterest using grease monkey and a script to bypass their login requirement, that will not work with this tool as while using IE explorer there are no such scripts so its impossible to use the tool without creating an ID and logging in. Such a restriction has no value to me if I wanted to play by the rules I would not even use this program to snag pictures...

Oh well shut down test virtual computer and revert to snapshot program is useless...

nibo1978, For the future. I have the same emails, in whose names are have dot.
My opinion. In vain, that the Internet service checks for the presence of a point.
On gmail, cat.cat @ gmail.com = catcat @ gmail.com is equal.
On yandex there will be two different e-mail addresses:
1) cat.cat@yandex.it
2) catcat@yandex.it
cat.cat @ yandex.it ≠ catcat @ yandex.it, unequal

Pete, I think you'll find they are a Chinese company, the two languages their site offers are English and Chinese and no English speaking country would choose Chinese as the only foreign language to translate their site into. No SSL for personal data input... The Album Spider page is not linked to on their main site, and there are broken links on their site and mislinked pages where clicking on the image from one product links to a completely different product. kingfriends.com does not resolve to the website but www.kingfriends.com does... indicates lack of knowledge in web hosting...

And very dubious data in the domains whois entry:

Mario, Just done a little debugging and the email validation function function EmailRegCheck(obj)
has no trouble with gmail.com addresses, it's the "." in the email user name component... re-type the email without the "." in the username part and it will succeed and display the license string in the following page, obviously it won't be able to send the email copy to the proper email box... also remember there may be a legit email box associated with your username less the "."s... Also the same license string is sent regardless of what name and email address you enter.

Steel Monkey, this worked for me - you have to use the link in the readme to register and get your key - it's shown on the page immediately after you register so don't close the page until you copy your key. I have yet to see the email in my mail tho but I used the info on the page plus the name i registered with -

To activate your free copy visit the page below. Fill in the form and submit your data. Registration information will be displayed on the same page.

Downloaded and installed easily enough activation key supplied after visiting page link within the readme file. I have given it a few tries and have reached the conclusion it is useless. It doesn't find a thing and doesn't even recognise the sites it reports to be able to.
