I followed the instructions to get the registration code, plugged it in to the program, and it registered.
Program works perfectly. I tried to merge 3 files with another program and I could never get it to work. This one did it first try.

Downloads and installs fine. Register for the One Year key. Open to find a very simple pallet of choices you want to do with movie files. You can open the file in a finder and then it gives you choices for that file.
It really needs to have a RESIZEABLE WINDOW since it's video and you need decent resolution to see exactly what you want to do. It seems like a silly app if you can't resize your working video windows.

So I had no issues with getting the software to install on a win10 pro pc or getting the registration code.
But I did find issues with running the program; I changed the default profile
to mkv and set all the parameters to my choice, but when I added or selected that profile, the program reverted back to the basics and ignored my settings.
The profile was saved a few different times with different settings but the program still reverted back to default settings and trying to reencode a video
using 3d settings also reverted to mp4 format with none of the settings taking hold for the prosses.
I was on the fence about buying another piece of software from the co that can incode for 4k video, but will hold off on that due to the issues I am seeing on this software
The pc's specs, 6core AMD cpu 2.8 ghz, 8gb ddr3, gtx750 1 gb vram, creative x-if sound card, win10 pro 64x

Phlypp, it does. Plus this site has it's own installers I personally find untrustworthy. Intermediaries between software makers and public are good, plus it's free. But the delivery system could be compromised in current state of confining installs to time limits. To go through all that for 1 year trial is nonsense. It's not a true giveaway if they take it back. It's code. Let people keep it, or charge for it initially.

Personnaly, i prefer a new billing when a new version is available. If i don't need it, i don't buy it.
In this case, i prefer to stay with free ShotCut, or free Davinci Resolve for high end video editing (with one bill for some professionnal features).

Totally agree with you here. I don't like that business model either.
I bought a $25 license to Machete a couple years ago (a best choice for simple, very basic editing like trims here & there, intuitive with virtually NO learning curve) and so far they have not asked for any more $$.
Have to reiterate that no single video editor -- or converter, or browser, or PDF tool -- is going to cover *all* needs or situations that you run into. So, it is better to have a selection of them available, wherever you can. For example, Machete has never been able to work with the older, most basic .MPG (or MPEG-2) format. I don't know why, but many other video editors don't cover that format either. VideoRedo is one that always did handle that format, although I did not find its operation to be particularly accessible to the novice. (That could also be said of many of the editors on the market.) And there are specialized editors that are better for the common .MKV video format. There are a number of video file formats out there, which are all quite different from each other. Incompatibilities are inescapable.
