Downloaded and installed fine with no problems. I always try the program without reading the instructions to check for simplicity and ease of the program and went on to make a quick slideshow with an audio clip with no problems and exported it to the Desktop. The converted file played fine in VLC player. I give it a Thumbs-Up...

Have crashed the program 3 times after adding 100 photos to it. My comparison program as far as ratings is Muvee Reveal or Autoproducer. This one does not reach that level. If there is a way to add movement to the photos I am not seeing it, no zoom, no lens movement across the image. It looks like it should have that function. Maybe I am missing it? Added 30 photos and the program did not crash. 100 causes it to crash.

I found the functionality of this product very easy to grasp; within 30 min I was able to whip up a colourful 30-slide slideshow with transitioning effects, music and filters and some text, including video, and export to MP4 HD, which played back faithfully.

The layout is elegant, and the wide variety of Texts, Transitions, Filters and Elements (eg pasting of emoticons and GIF-like funny faces, snowflakes and other effects) is impressive - I found heaps of usable items in these categories.
You do have to wait for most of them to download the first time you use them, but I assume they are then available for the next project.

The options within each function, such as cropping and image contrast/saturation etc and Text boxes are also comprehensive enough to do 99% of the things I've needed to do in similar packages.

Exporting is great - there is a plethora of different formats, and then tweaking to your hearts content to cater for different sizes, quality, bitrate, frames etc. Very elegantly arranged too, like the rest of the package.

Transition times and slide view times are all alterable - either at a single level, or applying to all slides/transitions - that is most welcomed - I'm surprised how many other packages don't have this capability.

For a GOTD freebie, this is a fantastic product, and I've trialled a fair few over the years - for me, a keeper. For the asking price ongoing, I think it's a worthy contender against the competition, and I'd certainly consider buying it.

Grumble - Ok, I am really impressed, and I try not to be too negative in my reviews, but there's always something that bugs you, right??? My grumble is adding background music: It's easy to add your favourite audio file (looks like it handles all the popular formats). Once loaded you can set the start and end points of the song, but there is no fade-in/fade-out transitioning - it's a harsh cut-off. And there is no "track" view where you can align say one piece of music to the first 3 slides, and then a new piece to the next 3, and maybe have them overlap. That may be a bit OTT for others, but I like to control the music/image alignment. The alternative is to work out your music first and splice an audio file together using another tool and then load in as your audio track. If you've used a full video editor with multiple tracks you'll know what I'm talking about.

So, for the next version, it'd be great to have the ability to build audio snips, with fade-in/fade-out controls and volume/normalisation so you can make a custom-built audio track that nicely aligns with the slide timings.

Another point, very minor - the Preferences are under the "Help menu option, rather than "File" - a variation from 30 years of Windows tradition :)

Aiseesoft Studio,

As a company who is providing a program on an english speaking software giveaway site, PLEASE in future can you have the person responding to comments or requests for help be someome who is capable of speaking and writing in english correctly?

Surely that isn't to much to ask for.

The previous commentor (Gurnley) was very polite in the way they suggested/requested the fade in/fade out feature. In NO way did they DEMAND such a feature be included in the next version of the program as you are claiming in your response.

In english it is actually considered quite rude to 'demand' something, and they did nothing more than politely request such a feature!

I realise that it was an unintended error on your part to use the word... demand... but such an error wouldn't occur if you simply had someone responding to user comments who actually understands english properly and can write in english correctly!

Warm regards,

Drew.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but I cannot get this app to run. When I try to open it, it tells me 'No audio device found click ok to close.' But my audio is working fine on my computer.

gru, no one esle has a clue either since you say nothing about your system at all! What operating system and version, what sound technology are you using? internal or external sound chip, internal or external speakers or microphone... if no internal speakers (not a laptop or tablet) are external speakers plugged in? Is sound only a bluetooth device or hardware sound device... there are so many possible vrariations possible before we or even the developers can even begin to narrow down the problem, offer a solution or aportion blame. Personally I feel the lack of pressence of a sound device in reality should not be used as an excuse to deny the end user access to a slideshow making program.... it should still run just sound recording features (if there are any) should simply be disabled while there are no sound interfaces found. One could still be allowed to import wav/mp3/m4a files for a sound track it just can't play the sound back obviously but its no reason to deny access! Other reasons why a working sound system might not be usable by a given program could be if it demands exclusive control of the device but the devices are configured to deny exclusive control, or another program already HAS exclusive control of the hardware so it's not available to this program that also might demand exclusive access... That is a hypothetical scenario and NOT a statment of how this program access the sound subsytem.

Of course it could just be the developers using the windows API's incorrectly which for a version 1 program is highly likely they are yet to finish massaging the project to use windows in a compatible manner.

TK, There is such a thing as photostory, much easier to use. https://microsoft-phot-story.en.uptodown.com/windows
- Windows 10 can also work with it.

TK,

This isn't actually even the latest version 1 version of their program.

The previous time it was offered on here was for v1.0.26 but this time they're only offering v1.0.22 so this version may have more bugs in it than the previous version offered here had.

I also feel that the annual price tag quoted for this version is a little too high also, given that they have a later version available!

Drew.

Louis Bougoing, yes I know I tried it a few years ago, there are quite a few slideshow creation programs out there, some free, some freemium, others payware, others (least desirable) rentalware.

Just re-installed Microsoft Photo Story 3 to see if anything useful has been added, initally looks like it might be useful but when saving the end result video the output resolution is not even HD resolution ... 1024x768 is the best I am being offered in any of the output profiles and no option to manually edit preferences to FHD or UHD or better. Also who want's WMV video? One would have to render it to WMV then convert it to a more portable h264 MP4 container... Most of the output profiles set resolution to 160x120 or 320x240 pixels. It really is so far behind the times. Portable devices are no longer tiny sub VGA resolution feature phones.
