Thanks to Aiseesoft Studio + GOTD.
Easily installed and activated.
This Aiseesoft MXF Converter software looks alright.

For those who have [Wondershare-Video-Converter-Pro] please note that they have issued an update that adds 4 new video formats, including MXF.

Panasonic DVCPRO P2, Sony XDCAM, and Canon XF camcorders should be sold with included software to convert XF video format to other video formats. If this is missing, then the 3 companies would be stupid to kill their own products in this way and offend their loyal customers.

I for one appreciate giovanni's remarks about the BAD behavior of the software company. I like to know the ethical or non-ethical behavior of companies like that. It gives me an idea of the type of people who own/run such companies. I don't like unethical behavior and if people don't understand why, well that says a lot about their sense of honor or lack thereof.

Thank you giovanni for letting me know about the substandard behavior of the aiseesoft company. I for one won't be downloading and installing this software. I don't own a device that I need it for, but even if I did need it, I would try to find some other software that I could use for the purpose it serves.

On my home machine, Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, I have Aiseesoft Media Converter Ultimate 6.3.58, apparently a previous GAOTD download, which appears to do the same thing as todays offering. I'm unsure of exactly what the difference is between the two, since I see .mxf is included on the previous download as well.
As for my criticism in regards to the drop down box, I found that if I search the format using the PROFILE button, it's much easier to read, as opposed to the drop down box in the upper right area, next to the output filename.

#10 (flamingoNut) - Be sure to look in the program for size options. My Panny mts files are 720p but most converters default HD to 1080p and sometimes to a size (resolution) that makes no sense at all. Find out what the defaults are for the formats you use most and change them to what you need them to be. Right click on one of your mts files, click "Properties" and, on the Details tab, note the width and height, and the frame rate. If given a choice of codecs for any file format, you won't know which is better but you'll learn as you convert.

Wow, an amazingly high amount of positive rating. It would be high for most offerings considering the time of day, but this is quite amazing considering that it is for a very specialized product that would only be of use to a limited number of users with the right hardware. Almost like there is some sort of shilling going on. I would love to see the IP addresses of where this is coming form, even with the last three digits obscured, to see if there is an obvious clustering of the IP addresses, or if the bulk are coming from known proxies or TOR servers.

With All Due Respect to Giovanni....
Today's software might not be useful for most people, including myself. But Aiseesoft has proven itself to be a vendor of good quality software...on par with their peers WonderShare and SoThink. Also, Aiseesoft has given away other software that offered much broader applications. I am still using Aiseesoft's video converter software given away long ago...and it still works great.
Thank you Aiseesoft for coming to GOATD!

I don't have a Panasonic Camcorder (I don't have the money) so this utility is not going to do me any good. Thank you Aiseesoft, Thank you Giveaway Of The Day. I recently finished a year's worth of online study and left the Giveaway Of The Day link on the "School's Bulletin Board" for all the students to see.

The utility that I've found most versatile, is Video to Video http://www.videotovideo.org/ it's also free, and it does 30 different video formats including MXF.

#3 Normally Giovanni's comments are very pertinent and worthwhile, but I don't understand his hatred of Aiseesoft. I think it attacks his credibility (personal opinion). I don't remember any problems I've had with Aiseesoft, and he is attacking the company as a whole, not just a product. I got their DVD Converter, for example, a few weeks ago on GOTD and have already found 2 DVDs that it copied easily that my prior gold-standard (DVD Fab, most recent release) wouldn't. "G" even recommended DVD Fab, which I had long used, but Aiseesoft does a better job. I am not a proxie for Aiseesoft and have nothing to do with the company in any way. I am not giving a blanket-support to them the way "G" is giving a blanket-condemnation. I'm simply stating my results of one Aiseesoft program compared directly with a different one that I had long used and that "G" recommended. Let's suppose that "G" has some way of proving that Aiseesoft has these proxies (wouldn't know how, but let's suppose)even if they have 1000 paid people 'support' their product, that doesn't mean that the product must therefore automatically be bad. It will skew the numbers but won't change the quality, or lack thereof, of that product.

Basically this is a video converter that accepts, according to Aiseesoft's product page: MXF, TS, MTS, M2TS, TP, TRP video files. Their Media Converter Ultimate lists the same capabilities, but this version *may* be tweaked to handle more camera video formats. Many video formats or standards have some wiggle room, so what one brand/model of camera records can be different than another brand/model, even though their video files share the same filename extension. If you've got video in one of those formats listed, particularly if you've had problems getting it transcoded or converted, you might want to give today's GOTD a try. There are so many different camera models I think the only way to know for sure if any app supports your camera is if it's specifically listed or you try it yourself [or read of someone else that has].

That said, Aiseesoft needs to tweak their marketing pitch when they imply that you should use their MXF Converter to get your video into a host of mid-range to high end video software, like Sony Creative's Vegas -- if you have/use one of those apps you already know they import more camera formats than today's GOTD, so it hurts their credibility. Likewise if you use one a video app like Vegas or Premiere Pro etc. & want or need to create an intermediate video file that you'll later import, you know you should use a near lossless format like UT Video or Avid's DNxHD, so again it hurts credibility.

http://www.avid.com/US/industries/workflow/DNxHD-Codec

Why worry about credibility? Aiseesoft's converters do a nicer job, faster than many if not most of the bigger name video editors when it comes to encoding AVC for example for a tablet or cell.

[9] If one buys a camcorder what uses some preparatory format, I would hope it comes with conversion software.
Hahaha, that was funny. I have a Panasonic camcorder that creates movies in .mts format and didn't come with a converter.
I downloaded this program (at work) without any problems, Windows XP SP3. Registration was successful, with code provided in the readme.txt file. I have a 20 minute .mts video that I converted to .mp4. The start timer said it'll take roughly 24 minutes; which it did. My movie viewer is VLC; both videos have good quality, but the converted .mp4 is smaller, screenwise, with a black border. I'm new to video conversion so I don't know if that's standard or not. I converted another 59 second video to .avi format which took about 1.20. There was no loss in viewing size between the two.

The drop down box available for output is a bit nasty. It has sooooo many redundant formats, for sooooo many devices, and it makes it extremely confusing. I just want to create a more user friendly format, just give me those formats outright. Plus, the box is too small and many of the descriptions get truncated. I have seen this before so now I know I have downloaded Aiseesoft converters in the past.

If one buys a camcorder what uses some preparatory format, I would hope it comes with conversion software. Or, like me who have owned Betamax, VHS, Hi 8, DAT and now, SD (JVC) camcorders over my lifetime, I like being able to hook up the camera pin them all together into one big MP4 at the same time. I use Pinnacle studios and it reads the camcorder with no issues. But it doesn't show that it reads MXF. Not saying it doesn't, it just doesn't advertise it. So, I rather stick with a mainstream format that doesn't need 3rd party software to convert. One waists enough time as it is reviewing the shots LOL.

As far as Giovanni's hair up his behind about Aiseesoft, I use Aiseesoft's Total Media Converter Platinum and it's worth every penny. And I don't see why the attack on this company is warranted. Can't be any worse then Ashampoo. Just my 2 cents.

Great software if you own a Panasonic DVCPRO P2, Sony XDCAM, and Canon XF camcorder, pretty much USELESS tool if you don't have such tools.

Video Input ==> MXF, TS (???), MTS (???), M2TS (???), TP (???), TRP (???)

A program like this would have gained a very low score here, if only being made by any other company, because of its poor usability (see what happens here whenever is offered a tool requiring Microsoft Office, for instance), but as every other Aiseesoft product previously released on this site this GAOTD got a very high score in a blink of an eye even, despite being clearly addressed to a narrow circle of people.

This says it all about the BAD behaviour of this company, which (in my view) uses different proxies in order to manipulate the GAOTD rating, so as to make their products more appealing for the occasional GAOTD visitors or members of other forums linked to this one!!

And if you visit their official website, most of the time, as proof of the "outstanding" quality of their products, they quote the high GAOTD rating score got by them here (==> oh yes, by using PROXIES....LOL!!)

Besides that it's worth noting that any software of theirs has never been listed or even reviewed in any other popular software library on the net (Softpedia, Majorgeek etc...).

Until someone of Aiseesoft team don't reply to my remarks, I'll never review any product of theirs here, since don't like being cheated by anyone (Aiseesoft team included).

Thanks.

Great Offer today. I have the total video converter from Aiseesoft that I got it on GOTD tow years ago and I am using it till now. I think the MXF Converter is their new product because the total video converter I have does not support this kind of video format .mxf. Already download it and I will try it when I at home, I don't have any mxf file here in my office. Great offer, thank you GOTD and Aiseesoft.
BTW, Aiseesoft has never offer Mac version software here. This is the first time. Thanks.
