Yes it is for real. Topaz labs have a lot of great stuff and I have most of them except for this new AI for videos as I do not need it at the moment

Lots of freeware can do the same task (downgrade the resolution) with great result.
If you can do the other side, upscale from 480p/720p to 1080p or even 2160p will be much more useful.

I'll make something clear. When a movie is converted to, for example; [Bad Boys for Life (2020) 1920x800, bitrate 2500 H264 (avc) mp3, duration 2 hours] one should keep an eye on the bitrate. If the bitrate is 1000, the converted movie is woefully bad. If you have a bitrate of 2500, the quality is very good. If you want to use a bitrate 4000, the quality is excellent, but you have a large file. So you have to compromise between very good and excellent.

Too much of a one trick pony to be really useful.
Simply offer a more fully fledged converter that covers a useful gamut of options.
Nobody is going to pay $39 for it and when they see that it is only a 1 year licence, there is even less reason to even consider it.
Aiseesoft used to do some really good stuff, even if they always had way too many products crossing over into another but if late they seem to have fallen into a lazy trap of not thinking about what users would really like.

The thumbnail/icon (on this individual page and the main gotd.com) has a typo (repeated more than once) - this software is a CoNVerter, not CoVNerter :)
If GOTD.com and/or the Publisher read this, could you please action and rectify.
If such a high-profile detail is missed, one might wonder if the rest of the software is any good/tested - need to find out.

The reverse is possible.
This is true in Video. Just as it is in Audio.

ricohflex, I disagree. Using HD Video Converter Factory Pro, I've increased the quality of many low-grade videos by sharpening, increasing the resolution, etc. I'm sure you could do the same with other software, like the one mentioned by Dennis Towell.
It increases the bitrate, which increases the quality. I can tell you from first-hand experience, the results are remarkable. If you increase the bitrate, you improve the quality of your video almost every time.
