@17 Sarah : I agree all download managers have to use your bandwidth to download something but if the source file is infected it can even infect your flash player( if its a video) or temp folder of your browser where all streamed media played are kept. If you are looking for extra bit of security u can configure download manager like flashget to use a secure proxy and have having real time protection also helps. Flashget also has the ability to download torrents so it depends upon the user what is he downloading and from where.

This offer is certainly not needed by most people. The excellent free Audacity will record everything you throw at it, and doesn't include hard to uninstall ad ware. Some have issues with recording from their soundcard with no "record what you hear" or "Stereo Mix" option available. These options can most likely be found on your master driver disk that came with your computer. If it isn't installed, then your computer maker was pressured by Microsoft and doesn't want you getting music for free by recording it. The fight against piracy goes on...

I have turned ashelper off by renaming the map "Aimersoft Helper Compact" and restarting Windows.

Aimersoft Music Recorder did work well. It recorded the song, but no single musicid:

Therefore it is a suspicious program by sending data to the internet.

The description is VERY misleading!! The claim is that I will be able to "CREATE amazing music" all by myself. This program doesn't let me create anything at all. It lets me record what others have created, and then do funky manipulation of that.

If that's what someone wants, then perhaps this is an okay program, but it is NOT what is being advertised.

Just ran a brief test. I launched my Elpis Pandora player and then this Music Recorder. I love how it separates the songs into individual tracks. I suspect I will be able to burn these into a regular CD. My other software created one big MP3 file.

This program also has its own player. That's a nice feature I wasn't expecting.

I'm sure I'll be doing lots with this program.

This program leaves the processor running at sixteen to eighteen percent even while it's idle. The splash screen is just a waste of time and it's useless. Running WinXp so this may not affect other OS's.

Have not seen it mentioned, but I've been extremely happy with Total Recorder from High Criteria for more than 10 years. Reasonably priced with unlimited lifetime upgrades and it does record from the soundboard.

Yes, #1 is correct I have a pesky "contentagent.exe" that has been on my machine from a past Aimersoft DVD download. My Malwarebytes continually stops it from doing anything, but it is annoying. I have found it and deleted it but something lese in my system recreates it. Have not found a way to get rid of it permanently, FWIW.

go to run and type msconfig in then go to startup tab and then disable everything thats not needed on startup and restart that should fix the adware problem.

Can anyone else get the auto tagger to identify the tracks that are recorded? I can not get it to ID and tag them.

I can't tell whether they all install this ashelper.exe. But according to @12 SoftwareJunkie it's easy to remove.
My question to SoftwareJunkie: Is there any automatism for ashelper.exe reinstall and/or autostart? Does this software want/need admin rights? Free softwares like Audacitiy do without and even are portable.

@2 Caution! FlashGet is using your broadband to download stuff. I've discovered that with my firewall! Lost of download manager do that. So be careful. Once your computer has been hacked,. it is difficult to restore it to a clean state even with paid antispyware and antivirus...

@ 12. SoftwareJunkie - I recommend you do a little more research. As provided in the screenprint by 11. Ootje - this installs a process, which always runs in the background. Deleting processes is not the recommended method of removing programs, since it will often never be fully removed. This obviously installs associated registry entries, including start-up items. Wondershare/Aimersoft, do not provide an uninstaller for their xxHelper files. There's even been reports by users that it keeps re-appearing even when they delete the helper file. There was also a thread about it on the Wondershare forums, where people complained about it and some believed it acted more like malware because it keeps re-appearing even after deleting it. But guess what, Wondershare deleted that thread...Surprising hey?

@9 (Giovanni) Don't bother downloading GiliSoft Audio Recorder Free unless you want it to download snap.do toolbar as well. It pretends to give you the option of skipping the toolbar but you can't! I cancel it.

@3 I had no problem deleting the file ashelper.exe. I didn't even need admin privileges. Had I any issues I would have used IObit Unlocker. Alternatively people can simply change the file extention from .exe to .ex or .txt. It becomes unusable by the program and can easily be restored if need be. The program works fine without it so it's suspicious but easy to remove or disable.

Windows 7 here. Clicked on setup.exe. Got an Error extracting the selected object. If the object is password protected please provide it. So I right clicked it and realized the files had to be extracted. Zip file. Hmn... did so and now I have the GOTD setup.exe file. Click on that....nothing. Try again....nothing. Run as administrator? Nope. Download it one more time. Same results. Time Freeze was turned on all the time. No problem having to uninstall. Restart....goodbye.

Looks like the same version given away here a few months ago....so the annoying issue mentioned by #1 should still apply!

I've just tried it using Toolwize Timefreeze and it works fine....yes, it's a decent Music recorder but the above issue makes me leery of installing it as well!!

Aimersoft, Wondershare, iskysoft - they will always install that "helper" file, which is arguably Adware according to previous posts (do a google search).

I had the same question about ashelper.exe (or wshelper.exe for Wondershare branded apps) for a recent Aimersoft giveaway - I never got any answers so I decided to proceed installing the app, only to find that ashelper.exe always gets installed (It may not be the case this time around, but I'd be surprised if it no longer comes with ashelper.exe, therefore, I just don't bother with Wondershare and its affiliated brands anymore)

Just curious about a very important issue: has Aimersoft eliminated the ashelper.exe that tends to install with their applications, that embeds itself in Startup, and is a bear to get rid of? Had to fight it off from the last few Aimersoft giveaways here.
I hope so, their programs (from previous giveawayoftheday) tend to be decent, but the ashelper.exe is a deal killer, and makes me leery of installing any more of their software.
