Activated, installed but still says its unregistered and has limitations.
So its useless.

Is anyone having syncing issues with this software? Every conversion I've done, no matter which format, does not have the sound synced up properly. Any thoughts?

i purchase dvd ripper through wondershare. is this the same thing? whenever i click to start the conversion, i get error message and the program must close. very frustrating. something about module ws_dvddecoder.dll. any help on this?

Looks like I missed the fix as well. It asks for a code, which I don't have, and there's no way for me to fix it now.

Is anyone at GAOTD going to address the problem of the emails for 5/30 being sent at the same time and with the email of 5/31 so that then we couldn't get the Ripper (too late?)???

dammit! ive been away and now ive missed the rerun. i have the original aimersoft DVD ripper on my computer, is thereany way i can activate this at all now or not? :(

I've been playing with this for two days now. I've tweaked all the settings using a 4min section off a DVD and it's pumping out excellent stuff. My first time using a ripper ... fun.

???? I'm sorry, I didn't even get any information via e-mail like I believe some people above are saying? I made the mistake to never run the program until I read comment showing the registration problem. Mine still doesn't work will this not be given out again with a proper link? :(

Will hopefully be not too long until we get another ripper/converter that looked as good as this one.

To those of you that are ripping dvd and say its pixelated....

If you actually go into the settings and set them for full screen resolution, there is no pixelation. Plain and simple.

I am having no problems with this excellent software at all. Ripping them perfectly and DVD quality.

Has anyone figured out how to avoid this error...

Error - 2002: a bad public movie atom was founf in the movie

...I receive the error when I try to format the DVD for use on an iPod but not when I format for YouTube or WMV.

Same problem as #199, #205, #206, #207 ........... It only Half-a**** worked yesterday after manipulating the software (not user friendly), then crashed and can not reload (free download period ended). Definatley will NOT purchase it (or any other AIMERSOFT software). Will not recommend AIMERSOFT to anyone else either. I appreciate the free stuff GOTD, you rock, but this software sux. Same program, different vender would be greatly appreciated.

the short answer is no. it is a dvd ripper. however you can edit dvd sequences prior to ripping them to those formats. you will need a specific mpg, avi editing program once you have ripped them to that format.

I have similar problem to #207. I downloaded SW yesterday and when wanted to procced with Registration later on that day - they told me it was too late to register :-(

It says: "This software was available as a giveaway on May 30, 2007, this giveaway is not available any more." However, there was no givaway of the day on May 30 and this offer came in the email today. Now you offer only the trial version. How come?

I installed and activated yesterday evening and when I go to use it today, it states unregistered...help!

Ditto for #194, I had been checking everyday but Wednesday (life interrupted)and I get an email today for a link that is expired. Lots of hard work by a lot people to wind up with a bad impression of Aimersoft and fallout for GAOTD. I still read the reviews, which is good for GAOTD I suppose.

I still have the same problem with registration. This may be great software. I am usually very pleased with your offering and grateful for the chance to try software I might not ordinarily be able to find or afford. But this one apparently is not meant to be.

To those who are complaining of poor quality of the conversions. As I stated the first time this app was offered, the default settings leave a bit to be desired... but with minor tweaking of the advanced settings things clean up nicely and pristine encodes can be achieved. Don't uninstall it until you test it out!

Keep in mind that you don't have to rip an entire DVD to run your test... just encode a 10 minute clip (in the middle) to run your tests.

#195 -- Me too -- can ANYONE tell us _where_ the link is to download this? I only see the link for downloading the trial version.

It looks like a great program. However, the activation said my copy was activated, but it did not work for me. When I run the program it needs a code or it is in the evaluation mode. If there is a fix, or a code that I could enter, I would love it.

The comments folks make telling GAOTD really confuse me:

missed it to went to site yesterday it didnot come up i thought it was down so i forgot then today you said you had it yesterday.

It installs just fine.

You may not want it to though. Although the GUI makes it very user friendly to use I can't get a good quality rip. So screw this piece of software

I got the email that this was available again this morning, but can find no link to download it. Where the link would normally be, it says that the giveaway is not available anymore. So how do I get the functional version? The copy I installed a few days ago is now showing up as unregistered. This has been an extremely frustrating experience.

How come I did not get the notice for the Ripper on May 30, but I get two things (Ripper and Icon Toy) today? When I go to get the Ripper its says it's too late now.

No problems activating then installing (yes that is the correct order) on Vista Ultimate (32-Bit) No "run as" needed whatsoever.
You people DID turn off UAC, right?

Anyway, tested it by converting a PERFECT quality DVD copy of Pan's Labyrinth to avi. It took a little over 2 hours (not bad) but the result was an 800MB file that was choppy and badly pixilated.

Same job done with AutoGordianKnot yielded a PERFECT high-quality video of only 700MB. It took longer (can you say "2 pass?") but I can live with that as the quality difference is like night and day.

Sorry Aimersoft, you failed the test - uninstalled.

GOTD, you do a great job getting us the free stuff to try - not every program is going to be a keeper.

I did the second install the first day this was offered and it worked. When the (Rerun) came out I thought, that's nice but I don't need it. Till today when I tried to run it. Unregistered. So now it's too late to try again. I'm not impressed. Aimersoft won't be getting any of my business.

Good Morning, here is an update from the rip I started last night, it ripped to my hard drive 4.65 gig in size, went to do the burn this morning, 3 different burning software failed to open the file :-(

I INSTALLED IT ON XP SP2, AND CLOSED IT. I REOPENED IT AND IT WAS STILL REGISTERED LOOKS LIKE IT WORKS. GAOTD SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM I THINK IN MY CASE.

I installed the software but when i try to open the application nothing happens....HELP!

The server is back up, so I was able to download, activate and install without a hitch. Everything appears to be working fine, but it's too late at night for me to actually spend time testing the program until tomorrow :)

Well, I have tried a number of times but it is failing to activate. And before activation there is no use of installing the sw.
Does any one else had this problem and is there any solution?
BTW, my FW is not blocking- I have ensured that.

Hey all. I know it's a little late in the game to post this up. I've been tinkering, and found another cause for Aimersoft DVD Ripper to launch on my other system; Logitech SetPoint driver/interface (3.30.165) - You'll find it in your System Tray if you are running it also causes this application not to launch.

And on a sidenote: For those having issues with making the PSP Transfer to a version 3.30 or higher firmware - Go and make a 'VIDEO' directory on the root of your card first. Don't know why the application won't do it.

As well, as mentioned above however, I've been messing around quite a bit with this and I can't get the application to work on my PSP. xVid or H263 (May be typo) or different screen resolutions, bitrates and so on. I'm trying one last try now but it's not looking good right now.

What format does one use to merely make a DVD that will play on a home DVD player? Anyone?

I am giving it one more try, it downloaded and activated fine it works, to all that can't activate, you must stay connected to the internet to do that, ripping a dvd now as I type, it is working , the only thing I am not liking is the amount of time it is taking just to rip, so far still sitting at 2 hours left to finish @ 12 minutes into the movie, I do have other software that just did the same movie rip and burn in 45 minutes, which is the average time I have been use to for 2 years now, does do protected movies without having copy protection removers, THATS A BIG PLUS!!! just gonna have to play around with it for a few days, see if I can tweak some settings which there is allot to look at to make it rip at a faster speed, THANKS AGAIN!!!!!

Install appears successful, but the program won't run - at all - doesn't even load.

Waste of time and space.
