Thanks for another free program to evaluate. I found Agogo FLV easier to use than some of the free converters out there.

The one disappointment so far was that the install changed my browser homepage without asking.:(

Downloads and installs fine. Although the product name suggests this works only for iPhone, and the Agogo site is not any more helpful, it in fact allows conversion to an amazing number of resolutions, including all movie iPods and probably any mobile movie player. Lets you select either mp4 and H.264. Considering the installed base of iPhones and iPods and Zunes and cell phones, it is hard to believe that anyone could say with a straight face that this proggie is almost useless.

Oh yeah, it will also covert FLV to anything up to HD1080 and down to 128x96 (SQCIF). So, pretty much any video device from a plasma 1080 screen to a little mobile phone. Guess that suggests this proggie has very limited appeal. : )

Anyone see Bucket List? How are we going to find the most beautiful girl in the world to kiss her? Jack Nicholson answers ecstatically, "Volume!" Some folks just download a few YouTube videos, so it is easy to just depend on some online service to convert them to what you want. But some of us do not like to depend on begging for stuff like that. "Please, sir, can I have some more?" AND if you are using something like TubeSucker Pro Turbo to download the results of four separate simultaneous searches on YouTube, going for hours and hours (volume), FLV to iPhone Converter would be an absolute godsend.

So, GOTD guys, thanks again for your continuous hard work. There are many many who appreciate what you do, who do not write. Some of them are very busy. Some do not write well. And some usually write in another language and are afraid that someone will laugh at their language mistakes. And some will see that someone else already said what they wanted to say, so they see no reason to write.

There are many more of these appreciative people, than of those who want to make themselves sound important by panning a product or putting down the many who like what you do. Please remember that.

Thank you and good luck.

I downloaded, installed, and registered the program without a problem on my WinXP (SP3) Home Ed. I didn't try to convert a program though immediately, as I have no Ipod and other things were pressing.

What I noticed afterwards though, was that my HomePage was changed to Agogo. I skimmed thru the messages to see if someone had reported the same thing, but didn't see any similar comments.

I was immediately tempted to Uninstall the program and tag my Download folder to IGNORE any future Agogo offers. It's bad enough after an install to have Web browser pages open back to the program's website, but to switch the HomePage? This is unconsciousable. I'm still fuming to the point where, had it been a piece of hardware, it'd be laying in pieces in the floor. I trust I'm not the only one who feels abused when something like this happens.

Thanks GAOTD. Shame on ya, Agogo.

Using XPpro - Downloaded & Installed OK.
Settings = H.264 480x320 384kbps Stereo/128
Selected various saved FLV files.
Click start and all said Converted ok.
Dragged converted files to iTunes.
= REJECTED (Not correct format!!)

To all the others commenting here - are you playing successfully converted files on your iPhone?

Once again dear morons... stop trashing something you haven't even downloaded. If you don't have an iPhone or want to "go to YouTube directly" - fine. Then simply don't download it. Stop wasting all of our time with your pointless opinions.

Then... there are all the ridiculous assumptions 1)People don't/won't watch video on a phone....just stay online... blah blah blah ... Oh yeah? Well I guess you've never had to ride the train from New Jersey into NYC or from Walnut Creek into San Fran or Rosemont to Chicago EVERY DAY to go to work and home again. If you ever had, you would know that as soon as you hit a tunnel that's the end of your phone and Internet service, and when you're crammed in like sardines, you can't break open the laptop. Everyone watches video on their iPod, iPhones and whatever else they can hold in one hand as they hold on to grab bar with their other. BTW- holding an iPod screen a foot from your face is roughly the same as watching a 12" TV 3-4' away. They're very watchable.

IMO - the ONLY people who should be commenting on this download are iPhone/iPod users who have actually tried the software. Then they can say 'thumbs down (or up) because x and y and z. Everyone else - SHUT THE F UP.

Thanks GOTD for all the give aways (Amen!).
Now I want to give away my finds= VDownloader.
I think it is a better program besides that it is also free. It can download from YouTube, and about 10 other sites with just 1 click within the built-in browser. And, NO installation is needed. It even have a version that support porn sites. You just download it, unzip it, and then run it. Then you select the output format(AVI,IPod,PSP,Nokia,MPeg,MP3,3GP,VCD,SVCD,DVD,or Original), go
to the built-in browser to view the video, and click download.
I have been using http://vdownloader.es/ to download video from YouTube to watch on my pocket PC using tcPMP player http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ .And, watch offline using http://www.flvplayer4free.com/

All the debates about the "Thumb Up - Thumb Down" is really simple, (duh!). Thumbs up if you have a use for the item, thumbs down if you don't. It has nothing to do with the quality or use of the program, it just lets GOATD know whether it is useful to the majority of users, or not. I gave this a thumbs down because I have no use for it. Therefore, I am unable to give a functionality report concerning this product.

Thank you GOATD and all of your Software Contributors for the time and effort you expend in trying to offer us great and FREE software. There's an old saying, "don't bite the hand that feeds you!" Some of the above whiners need to remember that when they are eating the cheese with their whine. ;-)

Totally FWIW...

Why not do video conversions on-line? It’s inefficient, slower, less privacy, often less quality, and it’s unnecessary traffic if that sort of thing (like spam) bothers you.

Why not use a free alternative? Well, today this is free. Whether you feel anyone should charge for this sort of program or not, the developer(s) have a right to try and sell it. Otherwise, if you like one of the free alternatives better, by all means use it - if someone likes Agogo’s product better, that *should* be cool too. By all means please continue to suggest alternatives, but Please realize that criticizing those who do like the program is childish at the least.

Why have a program that only does one thing? The more formats available, the more confusing any video conversion software is going to be - this especially applies to a lot (most?) of the popular, freeware alternatives. Some people like just opening a video and pressing “go”, or don’t know enough (& don’t want to take the time to learn) about the options on a more inclusive application.

This application works smoothly, has a nice interface, and does its job well, despite having some minor grammar problems. Mp4 files can be viewed on devices other than iPhones, so this application isn't necessarily useless for people who do not have an iPhone.

If you convert video for a living programs of this type are a must, even if you do not have an iphone your customer might. So I test these converters out at home and if it is up to par my business buys it. If it is not up to par, than I don't buy it. Any way it is nice to be able to test the software out for more than a day or so. I have found several here that work well in some situations but fail badly in others. This one looks interesting to me, so i will test it and if it works well than I will buy it for the business.

This application was a really bad idea because:
1. This is useless if you don't have iphone or ipod.
2. There are too many free alternatives available which do the same without having to pay for them.
Thumbs down and no download for today.

It's nice to have the software for those who need it, but I don't understand why it's called "FLV to iPhone Converter". If anyone who has an iPhone, they could just go to YouTube directly and view the video anytime instead of taking of memory on the phone. Sine the iPhone has a YouTube application built in.

#17 Giovanni (and any others)
GAOTD doesn't allow you to transfer the software from one computer to the other, otherwise there'd be no need for GAOTD, would there? People would just copy the sw from one computer to the other. You have to download the software from the Internet from both computers separately on the same day that the offer's on.

What if someone doesn't have an iPhone or iPod?

This program is useful just for a narrow circle of people, isn't it?

I profit by occasion to ask you a question:

Can somebody tell me how to move a GAOTD sw from one PC to another (a laptop for instance)with the activated key licence ?

For instance yesterday I downloaded in my old HOME PC A-SQUARED ANTIMALWARE 3.5 but would like to move it into my LAPTOP with VISTA HOME PREMIUM as OS because need more RAM to use it: how can I do that without losing the key licence got yesterday??

Giovanni from Italy (sorry for my English but, since I'm an Italian guy, it's not my first language...LOL!!)!!

Just downloaded and installed. Tried to convert an SWF I created in CS3 and it tells me "cannot open file, sorry."

I can open and convert an MOV file, but the point was to convert an SWF or FLV, neither of which can it seem to open and now "free" support is offered.

Hello,

I wish you would Giveaway other things than converters. Lately you have been giving away alot of video and file converters. Most people (notice I do not say not all people :) ) probably have all the converters they need now (if they have been coming to this website recently).

Could you giveaway an encryption pro soon?

Thanks,

P.S. I predict that most people will find this comment not useful. ;)

WHAT A WASTE OF HARD DRIVE SPACE....

Go to vixy.net..simple as that. From that site you can put in the URL (copy and paste) from YouTube or whatever site you like and then it converts to a multitude of file options.

Pathetic that a software company would charge for what a website offers for free. There arent any little spyware proggies attached to the files like some other dip-**** hacker sites.

VIXY.NET

When are these stand alone software converters going to stop. The only decent one I have seen on this site is Xilisoft and it had some other features. I actually bought some of their products to support them. Thats the purpose here, buy and support whatever you like. Those that have been selling crap should be outed.

This is crap....when its free on the net!

To 1,

There are tons of freeware/open-source alternatives that will rip videos DIRECTLY from youtube into iPod format. This program doesn’t even rip from youtube… Big thumbs down…

Yes, Zamzar is an online file format conversion site which can do a lot more than just converting YouTube videos to another format and downloading them to your hard drive.
http://www.zamzar.com
But I like this YouTube video download and convert tools; it can automatically download and convert youtube video flv to other video and audio formats for mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune ect.
