Still running my comparison of Advanced System Care Pro with the Kerish Doctor on two Desktop PC's.
I had been using ASCP for years but they expired and I'm cheap! I had installed Kerish a few months ago and was lucky for the GOTD ASC Pro because now after getting it all configured and just letting it correct the problems it found both PC's are now back to quick efficient operation on all fronts.

Uninstalling Kerish Have a good!

Add a direct(Desktop) shortcut to Performance Moniter and the option to start PM on Win-boot without having to start up ASC.

An excellent program for cleaning up the mess Microsoft and other programs create. I have been using (and purchasing) the Ultimate version for several years now and it is great for the price. It can be used on 3 computers and has a virus function that updates daily. This does what it says and speeds up boot time and the computer. Please read the instructions carefully and don't fool around with it. It can mess things up if you make the wrong selections.
Let it do it's job after you have 'educated' yourself on the use and you'll wish you had found it earlier.

Both of my desk top PC's have the Kerish Product but I did install the ASC Pro on both of them which is OK but it is important to go into the settings and configure them so that it doesn't delete your history or cookies that you need for your return to some sites. I routinely surf with Chrome Browser for my everyday usage and use the Mozilla Developer Version with Last Pass for my business needs.

After configuring the ASC Pro I ran a scan and it found hundreds of Bots, Cookies and Crap the Kerish has not been finding for the last 4 months. On the other hand the internet optimization in Kerish does do a very fine job and I did get about 100 meg bump in my downloads when it was done awhile back.

In the past I have found that the ASC is capable of cleaning up a PC that is in serious need of cleaning. IE if the PC is un-maintained requires several minutes to boot most of the time baring mechanical failure have been able to restore the PC to a workable state to allow backing up your data so you can do a Reinstall. Honestly this has worked on at least 30 PC's I have helped others with.

It's a good product but don't fool yourself! Configure it to your needs. I have used the IOBit ASC for years and have never arrived to a non bootable state!

How many more users will fall for these oneclick mischief-makers?

Regardless of whether they come from IObit or Kerish Doctor they are never worth the money.

CCleaner Free will do fine for regular junk clearing or if you are not even familiar with what that tool does just keep it to the Windows plus browser(s) maintenance tools.

Installed okay, but was NOT the "pro" version---it was the "free" version, which lacks some functions. I'm disappointed.

I am just above using a hollow log and a stick but maybe I got lucky although I have been using ASC for quite a while.

I have used ASC for years and had dropped it when my license ran out on two Win 10 Pro Pc's and switched to the Kerish GOTD. Can't beat free! Both work well and properly configured do a great job and offer easy means of returning the state prior to any changes made. I use Samsung SSD's for my boot drives so booting speeds are not an issue!

That said the two have differences and some things one does well may not be as good with the other. Driver issues are handled well by both and as new software or hardware are added, up dated drivers to fix issues are accessed from the manufacturers site. Both products have easy ways to roll back a driver!

I installed today's GOTD on my 2nd PC on my desk and will be watching to see how it compares to the other which has Kerish.

Some will say that MS knows better and to that in general they have been doing a great job with Win 10 kinda but they do have their plates full and what works for a new and learning Win 10 User is not always compliant to the needs of our business.

Today's Install was Quick and without any problems mentioned here!

Rick Martin, As a bit of an up date. I went in and installed this on my other PC as well and now both have this product as well as the Kerish Doctor reside quite well together! One does things the other won't! It is important for the user to go into the settings of ASC and adjust the settings for your own needs. I for example use the Chrome Browser not connected to the Chrome Account and the Firefox Developers Edition which is tied to Last Pass. The security scan left unrestricted will deleted your history and cookies good and bad so one must go in and adjust what you want it to do. It's just like all such programs and cannot automatically render your result until it knows your needs!

I think this giveaway is rigged to scare people away from ASC and to Kerish Dr. Nothing wrong with ASC. For those of you that say interface is confusing, your not very smart. Nothing misleading in or about ASC unless you are gullible. Kerish Dr is a good program, so is ASC. Both have the ability to mess up your system if you let them.

Reply   |   Comment by Tim  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Tim,
The whole point of a good interface is that you shouldn't need to be smart to use it, especially in powerful programs of this nature.
Been testing and debugging the interface design of a company for the last 12 to 14 years and wouldn't consider this interface fit for even beta stage.

Reply   |   Comment by Tata  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Tim,
you are succinct. you are spot on. these are not for novices and one trying to use these system manipulators, must know what they want and what can be allowed and not allowed. they suck the speed of the machine and prevent some softees from liberal working mode. they get access to the deepest of the system and have access to keylogging etc. BUT both are USEFUL as you said !

I tried Kerish Doctor from a prev giveaway and wasn't pleased with the results.
I was losing some of the program icons from time to time. I cant say Kerish
Doctor was causing problems. It may have a glitch in my computer. I Have also
used Advanced systems care and never saw any real improvement. I am using an HP with quad core, 14 gigs of ram and 3 internal hard drives. I keep my (C drive) operating system clean, And install most of the program I download
on the other drives.I use CCleaner on a regular basis. Also use Malwarebyts
to scan the system weekly. Both of these have proven to be very safe to use
I suggest be careful of using the more aggressive cleaners as they can do a lot of damage to the register.

ok far as user friendly interface, what is so hard about clicking all boxes on the front page? what is so hard about going to the 3rd tab ( protect ), and making sure everything there is turned on? what is so confusing about going to the 4th tab ( tool box ) and finding what you need to go through each and every step one by one if that is the way you do thing? everything the program does is in "tool box". then go to the top left of the main page/box and the drop down box there will be settings and quick settings pick your poison there...........so far as not being user friendly, that is pure hog wash or people have no idea what they are doing and need to leaving this one alone. the uninstaller on this one is not as good as revo uninstaller but does a pretty fair job, the av is good as most out there now days so far its been good to me, the reg cleaners is abut as good as any other out there so far from what i have seen, they ALL are hit and miss unless you go through your registry line by line to get rid of empty items and worthless trash then you get what you pay for. the install size is not to bad like most all in ones that are bloatware, the cold start up time average for my system is about 52 seconds and same for hot reboot.

One click feature have always messed up home computers. There is no possible way you could prepare for the myriad of apps files and programs that people use on each PC. I have yet to find a registry cleaner that did anything good. In fact what is it's purpose besides messing up permanently some ones computer. As long as I cut off the registry cleaner. I hope I'm safe. Still I shudder to use a one click does all. It's just snake oil to claim that, It's kind of like claiming one size fits all in the clothing industry.

Still The Kerish doctor is a fine example of doing it the right way. Because Kerish surprised me with it's program I'll have to try this one. I heard of Iobits before five years back I used Iobits game booster for low mem problems and it was quite good, Iobits really know their stuff but this one click deal makes me wonder. So, hang on were going in deep with a one click one size fits all and till I'm cutting off the registry cleaner that to me is the snake oil in the PC industry there's just no way that is going to speed up any ones computer. I hope someone here can answer this before I screw up badly...On the start up accelerate program Do the check boxes remove the programs or does it stop it from removing the programs in start up the directions are to vague and I don't want to do everything backwards.

This really screwed up my PC after installing and let it find and fix the issues it found quite a few of my programs won't launch, startup is very slow, much slower than it was before it was supposedly fixed and cleaned. I'm glad that I created a system restore point before installing this junk, it has caused no end of frustration not to mention wasting my time with having to do a system restore. Will never use any of IOBit's software after this dreadful experience. Lot's more I'd like to say about today's offering but GOTD wouldn't post my comment if I did ... Okay, rant over, deep breath ... Better now!

Have been using Kerish Doctor 2016 for 4 months now (GOTD) and see no destructive processes and it has nice tools and features. Very inexpensive too. All in all, it is best usually wise to let windows do the heavy lifting. If you see improvements from any of these products, they will be incrementally small. Not sure we need any of them and always the potential to do more HARM than GOOD so be careful.

I've used a version from previous giveaway, and decided to give this one a try, too.
After apparently "optimizing" various aspects of my laptop, I find that it is less responsive and takes longer to boot. Also, I don't like how some of the "fixes" weren't clear, how I'm not able to view the files or registry entries in Explorer or Registry Editor. Some of the fixes drastically changed some things. For users who don't know what they're doing, or aren't tech-savy, this can really mess up their computer.

I find that this program has an overly-complicated user interface and lures people, as someone mentioned, into downloading products that seem to be a part of the program, but aren't - tools that are useless, unless you purchase the pro version.

Speaking of their other products, I did give Driver Booster a try, too, since it was "included" (in a form of a download link) in today's giveaway. Long story short, it messed up my sound driver and I have to constantly switch between speakers and headphones, as it doesn't do that automatically now. Wonderful (:

While it downloaded and activated easily and successfully, I will not be keeping it as it only gets in my way and is stupidly simple in some basic aspects of it. (some items on the lists can't be unchecked or ignored, you cannot view the files/registry entries in Explorer/regedit)

Maybe this might be useful for casual users, who do not know how to take care of their system, but for advanced users this really gets in the way. Either way, thanks for letting us have a look!

I was an ASC user for years. They did me wrong with auto renewal. I turned it off but one of their other program I did not even use came a year later took my money. When I confronted them they said they could not find my order. They sure didn't lose my credit card info. Also they are just sneaky with making you feel that you need other programs as if your at risk. Scare tactics! That is BS! They look like part of the app but cost money. Bunch of BS. Don't get involved with these people. Take my advice run from them straight to Kerish(not expensive) or Glary. ASC are just not honest or ethical

No prizes for the interface, messy and confusing.
Did a scan and it claimed that there were toolbars that shouldn't be there under Spyware; went to examine it in more detail and decided to fix it, or so I thought.
Instead of just fixing this area it went on to fix Registry problems and in fact would have tried to fix everything if I hadn't managed to stop it.
I haven't yet examined the registry entries and only wished to repair the spyware part; as I was examining the spyware area I had assumed that the FIX button below only applied to this area, but no, everything!

Fortunately I'm in XP and was able to run ERUNT to restore my registry. :-)

If you do need something like this and you wish to use today's program suggest that you examine each area individually in that way you'll at least know what you are fixing.

I use Kerish Doctor 2016 on a regular basis and wouldn't be without it, it does make a big difference in certain areas to my machines speed, so this type of program can be really useful.

If you do use today's program just be a bit careful until you get used to the interface; I'm going to have a look at what it finds one area at a time.

Reply   |   Comment by Tata  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+37)

After reading the comments and on further examination of the program itself have decided to uninstall it.

Not much point in keeping it when such a superb piece of work as Kerish Doctor is available; it turned and an un-usable OS into one that functions normally, it has never caused the slightest problem, in fact on the contrary, up to now it has always improved the situation.

If you got a bit of a messed up OS, give Kerish Doctor a try, worked for me. :-)
