The software abylon SHAREDDRIVE protects sensitive data from unauthorized access by encryption with recognized encryption algorithms. The original files can only be accessed if the correct password is known or if the appropriate hardware key is available. Access is possible via a special program window. Due to the file-based structure of the encryption, the simultaneous access of several users to the database is no problem. The files can also be stored centrally on a server or in a data cloud. The transfer via the network is encrypted and the file is only decrypted by the client.

I would like to see 5 to 20% of the original data being kept local, so that no ammount of quantum computing could crack or reveal the other ~80% of the encrypted data. Verycypt seems to do a good job with standard encryption, but it is not user friendly - nor does it explain encryption levels per PC very well (business level vs gaming computer with an expensive GPU). Putting anything on the cloud will always be risky, but encrypting 20% on a local computer and then encrypting the other random 80% of the container's data on a NAS or Cloud, would (seeminly in my mind) make it impossible to crack unless both portions were put together first (via encryption software and not migrated - since that would take too long to transfer).
