abylon CRYPTDRIVE creates so-called container files, which are secured with the known encryption algorithms AES or Blowfish. Only if the corresponding key was used, the secured data show up in the file explorer. A key password can be entered with the keyboard, as well as by a chip card, USB stick or certificate. When Cryptdrive is opened, the contained files are displayed in the assigned drive and can be edited.

This program makes me nervous as I feel if I do the wrong thing then I might encrpt some files on my computer that I don't want to be encrypted. There needs to be a better understanding on how to use this program.
The program tells me that its already privately registered so maybe I don't need to register it to use it.

Once your files has been encrypted then the only way to access your files is to have a working version of Cryptdrive.
So you'll need to buy this program as if your computer crashes you won't be able to use Cryptdrive.

Unfortunately, the install does not give the opportunity to change the installation location. Personally, I don't install anything other than system type software to my C drive. I have not yet had an opportunity to test the software but it looks like those who did have had no issues and rate the software highly. The registration process was very smooth and easy.

Unless you have really really very sensitive data, such vaults are dangerous to create. If you lose the chip card, USB stick or certificate or your HD crashes, there is no way to ever get your data back. If you update windows, such drives may not be accessible again, it happen to me on similar software in the past. Stay with simple file or folder encryption with typed password, it is much safer and you can make backups and copies of such files on regular bases.

First would not accept the registration I received in my email. It's also very hard to understand how to use. I think it may be the translation to English that makes it harder to use than is necessary. Terminology is odd to understand I guess. Thanks GAOTD and Abylonsoft for the opportunity to try this out.

Dean, I could not register at all. Uninstalled, after 30 / 45 minutes of trying. You expect with the two keys, that it is easy indeed. And on top of that, it seems they don't like it installed with a VPN. What makes no sense to me.

Note: On their site said Problems under Windows 10 after the November update could be fixed!
Until version 15 it is now possible to access opened CRYPTDRIVE's under Win 10. The compensation via virtual machines is no longer necessary.
