I just converted a 3D side by side video into a 2D video using this software.
If you need to do same, this is how you do it:

Click & pull the 3D video filename into the converter window, release.
Go to [Edit.]
Do NOT enable any 3D settings.
Choose the Crop tab.
Untick [Keep Aspect Ratio]
Click + pull the yellow outline to crop the chosen area to half the screen.
Go to Zoom Mode. Choose [Full] from scroll list.
Click [Close]
Choose your chosen output video format/codec.
Click on the large green [Convert] button.

I downloaded--as per usual, copying the file to where I do that. I got a message from Copy, saying, 1 Data Error Setup.exe I went...ahead--attempting an install from the copy fold--and, it stated, Invalid Win32 application! I can...see--checking back to the GOTD download page--that the size of the download didn't match the size indicated, it should be. Hence...? To download, again, naturally, yes?

However, I have a couple of questions--either for GOTD, or, the general audience here. Firstly, when we're recommended to...recommend upon Facebook, say--before we've downloaded or installed ourselves--what recourse-available towards our giving a sort of false "review"/recommendation before we've tried it out, ourselves, firstly? (I had one program--not so long ago--as froze my...browser. And, the only recourse for myself was uninstalling, naturally, huh?)

The other...question, "generic" if you will, asks this: what...if--with, almost...daily, listing of a Chinese source--those "free" programs are ones engineered for purpose of cyber...warfare, one day? And/or are there any programs to run past...themselves: Hmm...seems alike this program might be engineered as a possible back door into your computer "one fine day" (NOT "so fine", naturally), hey? I don't think this is so much...paranoia; as simple wondering, like? Thanks...

This appears to be essentially the same software that's sold under the "Aiseesoft", "4Videosoft", "Tipard", and "AnyMP4" names, with a variety of different UI themes and with different sets of features enabled/disabled.

We've seen many versions of it here before.

The naming of the software "7thShare HD Video Converter 3.2" is acceptable.
There is no issue whatsoever with the name.

For those who claim they have a problem.
This is what they can do.
Create a shortcut to the exe file and put it in the desktop.
Rename the shortcut to whatever you want.
For example, you can call it "Obama's fatuous Red Line" or "BrExit" or "Iceland2, England1"
Put that shortcut in your Start Menu.

The compression ratio is brutal. My test of an appx 800 mb to dvd-ntsc came out as 7.9 gb. Why even have mpeg conversion to a dvd format if it won't come out small enough to burn to a 4.7 gb disk. No matter how I adjusted the a/v bit rates, I still wound up with a minimum of 5.5, and a vid similar to a 4th gen of old vhs tape. I'll keep it for now, but the compression? Tanx tho, decent product.!

Why would you be limited to 4.7GB? Dual-layer DVD blanks aren't exactly hard to come by these days.

I use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, and never had a problem - used on xp machines and window 7 machine and does an excellent and "fast" job

Anyone else having issues with the activation?

I also had issues with installing from the given setup files. So I downloaded it from the site.

The registration info provided with the giveaways here sometimes works with the installer found on the publisher's website (thus making the GAOTD installation wrapper utterly pointless) but sometimes the publisher provides a special GAOTD-only version and the reg info works only with that.

The latter is the case today.

This is for all developers: I respect your brand name, please respect my time. Insistine that installation path and start menu name start with the company name, means I can't quickly locate video tools in my start menu. So please, corp. XYZ, name your tool "video converter by XYZ", not "XYZ\XYZ's video converter".

AR,
Amen to that. You took the words right out of my mouth. How many times I have been frustrated by that.
Cheers for the comment in writing.

AR, You can always rename programs when installing, I delete the company name.

Reply   |   Comment by ilikefree  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+20)

AR,
Absolutely agree!
When program installs under company directory or name, difficult to find. Of course as suggested, you can find and rename it but that is lot of work.
Some installs on windows 8.1 do not even give that option. They automatically under 'company' directory and shortcut under 'company.
That is dumb!

There are several video converters that look the same, and all share the same flaw: the audio stream can't be copied as-is, they all insist to downgrade it to stereo/mono. So converting format means I MUST lose surround, high quality audio track :(

AR, I have wondered same. Most of video converters are quite a look alike. Is there some free basic GUI-code that most of those Chinese "companies" use, or is those myriads companies just one and only company with difference name?

Well, it is quite useful: learn to use one and you mastered myriads of video converters.

AR,
If a developer wishes to create a video converter he will buy a component that does all the donkey work of conversion.
He will then put an interface on, hence many converters will have the same problems as they based on the same component.
A very popular component at the moment has a bug when setting the video resolution and I'd noticed it on the last three converters.

Soundtrack, it is easy to replace the soundtrack in videos with some freeware programs,Avidemux and VirtualDub.
So if you copied the original you could exchange it for the one in the converted audio.

Tata, LOL, I can do many things manually, the idea of an integrated tool is to minimize clicks and computer-babysitting :)

AR, There used to be a free converter called "Super". very unfriendly UI, but could copy.
Media Converters' Video To Video has that option, but it never works. MAybe I should try a newer version, maybe they fixed it.

Reply   |   Comment by AR  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

AR,
Super is available in all its confusing the glory at the following link:-
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.htmlhttp://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
To install go to the bottom of this page to where it says download, this will take you to the next page and towards the bottom it says download, and there you are, at last.

Doubt you'll find a more powerful converter than this, nor a more confusing interface, but if you're willing to learn how to use it it is a powerhouse.
Haven't updated mine for years but from the download page it looks like the interface hasn't changed, so quite a lot of right clicking is involved.

AR,
Thanks, for the great description of Super, nothing could have described it better.:-)

It seems as though we got a lot of free video Converters on this website. What makes this one Stand Out compared to the others?

Debra K, very good question. I am curious to see some researched information.

Reply   |   Comment by ABMM  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Debra K, It appears to use simpler menus and less options. This might appeal to some users.

Reply   |   Comment by AR  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Debra K, There are two types of video converters, professional (done for movie studios, video editors and or media studios) costing thousand of dollars and the rest are stolen from each other or public domain general converters for home use. Most, if not 99% of them are of the second kind and if you look under the hood with hex editor, you will find same engine with slight modifications that the developer pretends he/she invented a new wheel. All of the giveaways are from the general pool codes.

Mark, Thanks for the info. That is very interesting. It's too bad we don't see a professional program giveaway here!

Reply   |   Comment by Debra K  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Mark, I agree, almost all of the give-away converters here looked alike and worked the same way. The only benefits I am looking for is the speed and compression ratio with quality
