I've used a program called FolderSize which I've been happy with, except my version (free) doesn't work on network (mapped) drives. This program does handle networked drives, albeit for only a year. So I'll get this offering and try it out, along with trying some other alternatives mentioned below.
From the 1Tree website:
Description▾1Tree Pro lets you quickly see all drives/directories/files size in 1 tree view, so as to let you to do the manual disk cleaning work easily.
1Tree Pro loads your local and network drives, folders and files with their sizes (sorted by size in descending order), and you can do some common operations for the checked resources in batch mode, such as Move to Recycle Bin, Permanently Delete and Move / Copy to Other Place. Also, it provides you with a few special commands (e.g. Get Full Path of Resource) for drives/files/folders. So, with 1Tree Pro, you can do the manual disk cleaning work easily.
In fact, it is similar to UNIX/Linux du command, or you can think it is a GUI du tool for Windows.

Thanks for all the free software you offer here.
I downloaded & installed this one before (from this site). It's sooo sloooow starting up, and when starting to scan a drive.
Used "TreeSize Free" for a while, it's much faster.
Also they wrote about other real nice alternatives in the comments on this page.
Thanks again for all the free software.

Free all the time WIZTREE does all this.

J.Barry,

I used "TreeSize Free" for a while now and satisfied with the speed, but I was tempted to checkout your suggestion.
I did, and, it is faaast.
Thanks again

I received the download, but no license key! The software installs OK, but remains in Trial mode. How do I obtain the license key, please?

Read the Readme file and copy the license key -- Then select the 'Gold Key w/checkmark' and enter the license key. I couldn't get it to Cut and Paste - but typing it in works fine

I get not responding when trying to get the size of a hard drive. It minimizes and when I maximize the tab I see the tree size window. I have been using TreeSize Free from Jam Software for years and actually like it better than this. This program may have some good points that I have not discovered yet as I have just installed it. Thanks.

Works straightaway with GoogleDrive, so I can now immediately see the folder sizes.
I'm able to do view folder sizes a lot quicker than the usual right click, properties when using Windows Explorer in GoogleDrive.
Worth installing.

Thanks for the easiest possible install! It's an exe + supporting files. Just extract to it's own folder, run it, and enter the serial from the readme.
This will get a lot of use in a short time. I always wondered why Windows Explorer didn't have this very obviously needed feature.
I usually skip the 1 year licenses, but I've wanted something like this for a while and just never thought to seek one out.

David Jaynes, Worth checking out Wiztree. It reads the MFT index rather than processing each individual file, and its free.

Chris, that's WindDirStat with another name.

steel, I take it you've never tried Wiztree. It's far faster than WinDirStat.

Bruce Fraser, Agreed, WinDirStat is good, but Wintree is kicking its arse in speed, if they are the same program someone did some nice tweaking to make Wintree.

steel, Absolutely not. Thats like saying Calc is Notepad. Wiztree is different to WinDirStat. It doesn't look at each file, but reads the MFT index. I'm sure I put that. Its not the same program at all.
