My mouse too is jumpy.
It is as if the cpu is busy on something else, and only pops back occasionally to carry out the mouse move instruction.

This is a very complicated procedure to just download the video from YouTube, the other options offered with this software seem to be easier to work with.. my only complaint is that it puts a start up on your machine.. I hate when software does that without asking first! Makes me think they must be wanting to spy upon me or something like that, since before it even opens up the software to be used.. my security is yelling wanting to tell it no or yes to connecting to the internet.. and with the start up in there too.. makes one a bit suspicious about what they are wanting to find out when I am not looking.

@ Patrick #52

I live in Belgium too, and I'm using XP SP3 most of the time, because I hate Vista, and I want to wait a stable version of Win7 before using it for my development (I'm a Linux and Windows programmer). So, I have still IE on my system, and 1AVC can launch it. But the fact is that it doesn't take into account the wishes of the user. By selecting Firefox as my default Browser, I have clearly indicated that I don't want to use IE. Ignoring that is a serious indication that the 1AV team has no respect for their customers. This is a fact, independent of the European monopolies laws. Furthermore, my question is still valid. How will the program react when IE is NOT present on the system? Crash? As far as I know, they claim to support Win7, and this might not be true, at least for the European market. The programmers and site creators MUST now know that IE is NOT a good browser, and that good alternatives exist. They will be forced to take that into account, thanks to the European laws! :-)

I fully agree with your analyse, but I think we cannot continue to ignore Win7. Vista was certainly the worst OS ever made, but Win7 has fixed most of the bugs and problems, and has even some very good things. It is still not completely sable, but after SP1, I guess we will be able to slowly switch from the old XP to a really new OS. (Although I have a dualboot with Linux Mint and I write my apps with partability in mind, I really think Linux is not a good alternative, given the fact that 90% of the programmers work exclusively for Windows.)

Hello again,

This GOTD has expired just a little wile ago, so this post may not get through or be delayed. I'm giving it a try anyway.

I would like to direct everyond to the developer's on line manual for this program: http://www.pcwinsoft.com/1AVCapture/user_guide/index.asp

I'm reading it now and it looks fairly (totally?) complete.
Petty though that screenshots are in black & white.

It really should solve most -if not all- of your problems.

Enjoy!

Patrick.

On behalf of a friend whom has installed this program, he asks ;

'' I just installed and activated the program. Seems to be working properly; however my mouse pointer jerks and is unstable.
I changed my color from 16bit to 32bit as advised during the setup process. Any ideas as to stabilizing the mouse? '

I personally have not encountered this problem, have any other members done so ?
If so, can you offer a '' fix '' ? Thank You, in anticipation .

Downloaded and installed on Window 7 64 bit. I installed as admin and activated before executing the program. When i click on the program to run it, i get the following error message: "Error at ReadCurrentLangIni()Reinstal to solve this problem." In order to get the program to work, I have to right click and run it as admin... This is a bit of a hassle. I tried to record the song that i was listening to and it work perfectly! I didn't have to mess with any of the default settings. I also took a look at the developer's website. The layout is very ugly in my opinion. It looks unprofessional and made me wary about installing the program at first. If i hadn't read the reviews here, I would not have install this program. The price of this is too high. Overall, I rank this 7/10

Downloaded and installed on PC running Vista SP2. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The resulting video recorded off the web is of course of lower quality than the original, but is much better than I expected. Sound recording is excellent, and the program is a general winner for me. My thanks to GAOTD and PCWinSoft!

What a bunch of crap! Does not download many, many websites. All is right on updates and pretty much everything else. This site Giveawayof theday is becomming more and more BS. They claim this and that but all they do is BS. Free software with degrees is BS. This site probably dont investigate the softwares because if they did, half the problems would be gone!!!!!!!or we would know about them instead of the users telling us. There has been more problems with this site and the BS software they claim for us. Opinions, opinions, I know whoopity doo. I think this site either scams their way in our CPU's or they just out for themselves. Reviews from accredited sources say Give....... is full of shit! Take that BITCH ass site. Quote: "Kaspersky AV told me that this program is trying to inject it’s own code into all processes. I believe that’s a part of the DRM (Armadillo) and not the program itself."

Oh no! I installed an Armadillo copy protector? Darn it. Armadillo is so tenatious it is a pain to get rid of from your system. Armadillo is officially classified as Malware. Only the worst software vendors use it, so what does that say about this developer? And why, now that I have installed this, am I getting browser redirects?

So to sum it up, yes Kaspersky is right. You probably don't want to install this even for free.

Hi Ffolkes,

- and good job Alex from PCwinSoft providing 'on the day' responses to the GotD promotion - something that, to me, is the obvious thing to do if your selling/promoting a service or software.. Nothing better than 'live' feedback while testing the market.

For me (XP sp2) it works well though, with my low resources, a streaming video is choppy that's also slowed down to virtually unwatchable when 1AV is loaded and recording. Recorded around 2 (still) frames a second..

The 'local' screen record is, understandably, faster and I may well use your software to create 'video' tutorials for my new 'Cloud Like' hosting service (currently in Beta).

The 50% offer you have on your Website for all your software is a nice incentive, so may (when I get a faster/higher RAM computer) purchase your full set ($100 - 50%)..

The Video help tutorials, also on your site, have very small text and are tough to read and would also be nice with audio explaining what the small text is 'saying'..

Overall impression 8 out of 10 - Good Job on a nice piece of software.

..

GotD - Again a request: Please remove "sticker' and "stickit" !
As many people have posted on your site, it apparently is unpopular with so many of us, and clearly gets in the way (it's of little to no help)..
Thanks - and good job on the service you offer..

Peace out - Nickalf. . .

Answering my own question... found the uninstall in the start menu but can't explain why I couldn't find it in the add/remove utility. It would be much better if an uninstall was also located in the program directory... just my opinion. And havent a clue what the hell 3.4.0.9271.0 is?

How does one uninstall this program? I do not see an uninstall program in the main program folder and it does not show up in WinXP control panel add remove programs. I did see a program in add remove with the very strange name of: 3.4.0.9271.0 ? Could that be it? If anyone knows what that is... sure would like to know. Searched my drive found no reference to this odd numeric named progam. Thanks for any help offered.

Didn't get a look at this GOTD app till late today, & looking it over took a bit of time. Long story short, 1AVCapture is potentially a useful app, but there were a few things that left me underwhelmed...

First off, it doesn't come bundled, or have an easy link to a capture codec -- the ability to use most any codec you have installed is great, but I can imagine many a user left wondering, since the results of any captures with 1AVCapture depend on a good capture codec. 2nd, a minor, pet peeve, the latest versions of included supporting files were not always used -- UScreenCapture.ax is a great example, & comes in a 64 bit version as well. 3rd, test captures weren't at the same frame size as the captured video window, nor was there an option to capture at std, NTSC 29.976 fps -- a potential deal breaker if you want to do something standards based [DVDs etc]. 4th, you set your capture destination folder during setup, it isn't explained that's what you're setting, & it appears you have to edit an .ini file to change it -- the change can't apparently be made from inside the app. [What happens when a partition/drive fills up?] Finally, test captures to mjpeg avi showed artifacts -- horizontal lines -- not present in the original, streaming video.

While it has surprisingly low CPU usage during capture -- a Plus -- & can capture any rectangular area you set, I was also put off by the installation along with the apparent use of VB [Visual Basic]... Universal Extractor would not work with the Setup.exe file, so I have no way of knowing if you could have more than the 12 files I had added to the system folder. Of those 12 files, most were Active X & registered, with InstallWatch Pro reporting a surprising 5600 registry changes & additions [many of those are housekeeping, dumping old cache, & it does count some duplicate entries in both HKR & HKLM, but still...]. Uninstall didn't remove those 12 files, nor the added folder under Docs & Settings, UserProfile\My Documents -- that's not all bad, as one of the added files took over the Direct Show function of another file I had installed, & at least this would have maintained that function.

Alternatives... arguably the best &/or most popular video screen capture apps are by TechSmith, but Windows itself can often do this & UScreenCapture.ax [avail as a free download], makes it possible in most any video capture app, including VirtualDub... however you might be looking at some high CPU load -- capturing full, streaming 1080p (HD), I nearly max out an AMD quad.

Its the first time in the last 2 yrs. that I see a representative of the offering firm spending the whole day answering questions from us, GAOTD guys (and gals). That speaks for the firm and definitely makes a good impression on me. Most important, the representative didn't lose his cool despite the venom and malice showed by some of us (unavoidable). Considering that Ashraf and Giovanni (and Mike) are not here (and greatly missed) HappyPerson's review was quite welcome but like said by others, Fubars was not only outstanding but definitive for my decision to DL this app. Im gonna use and savor the many options offered or........im gonna bust Alex Ferri's chopps for the next 12 months!:) Salut!

IF THIS IS A FREE PROGRAMME WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT IN 21 DAYS ?
whe you go to activate it, it gives you the message that you cannot contact the server and to try again later, very strange each time you try you get the same message. If you cannot contact the server then why does the same server respond by another download ? and then the same message occurs about not getting in contact withe server.
My guess is that the software manufaturer had duped giveawayoftheday and the software is NOT FREE !!
Somebody explain please to mjv233@tiscali.co.uk
Thankyou

On a more personal note:

To have a seemingly "All-in-one" video / audio recorder is an excellent piece of software specially it already has the job cut out for you. Kudos to the developers!

However, being in the marketing / advertising business, I anxiously would like to say; Alex, you have got to be kidding me...

"It is all good" is likely to turn heads... away from your product so you might want to skip using platitudes entirely. Just my two cents!

First of all...

I've seen countless times where people have complained that the Developer or someone from the offered program never shows up to answer any questions or reply.

Now we have someone here taking that time and you are complaining about that as well.

Make up your....minds. He's here making an attempt to help those that need it. Offering support that he doesn't have to do according to the TOS of THIS site's rules. I, myself, would like to thank him for being here and taking the time he has.

This has nothing to do whether the program is good, bad, average, or exceptional. It does however show that at least one out of many are willing to be here.

Second...

While I haven't had the chance to fully test out the program I will do so as time permits. Just like any other program there will be pros and cons on each and every side....and each have their own opinion(s).

If it does what an individual needs it's good for them. If it doesn't then they can and should look elsewhere. Simple as that.

Some software will be good....some not. Some will work for some and others it won't.

It does no good to throw out accusations nor post useless complaints unrelated to the software itself. We are here to try the offering and provide feedback accordingly. We are given the opportunity to get it free. We are NOT here to bash someone for being here to help or accuse them of anything.

Anyhow...Thanks GOTD as well as PCWinSoft Systems Ltd. and Alex Ferri for taking the time and being here.

Alex, thanks for monitoring this today.

Can you or anybody tell me if this program will record audio when the device is not listed as an input? I have tried recording Audio streams on my laptop, but the device is not visible. I can't remember the exact terminology, so hopefully somebody know what I am talking about, but when I go to the recording program that I tried before, and tell it what device to listen to, it isn't there. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Yes, that particular routinwe must be enhanced. To get out of it you must change the profile number when you are taken to the Record Wizard dialog where you can find all profiles on the top part and select audio/video source. In that dialog you must select another profile to be able to get out of the situation, or try to resolve the problem with your audio/video device giving the problem but it is lacking information and help. It is on the to-do list for future versions.
Unfortunately the website is going through some instability today. I apologyze for that.

Great screen capture program.

It has some of the most useful features, however I cant find out how to only select a part of the screen to capture.

I used the program for about 10 minutes, tested video quality. The quality was great.

This is something I absolutely will use. 60$ Is a little bit expensive, but if you have enough money and want a good screen recorder then this is something for you!

Installed fine on Win7 x32, BUT after starting I chose the profile to record the pc screen w/audio from mic. An error box came up saying "Unavailable. Audio line is disabled or disconnected". Clicking OK, just caused the program to loop and repeat the error with no way to escape. Had to kill the process. Started again, and it opened a web page "http://www.pcwinsoft.com/1AVCapture/installversion.asp?v=1.7.6.11&s=DB819D81-8110-49EE-A052-5542EA3A87F1&r=1AVCapture&l=english&b=NONE" saying:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied./LM/W3SVC/1641281230/ROOT/global.asa, line 120

and proceeded to the list of record profiles. I found that after the audio device error, you can switch to a different profile if you do it very quickly. Otherwise, you end up in the loop.

This is a very ungracious way to handle a device that's unavailable.

@ Alex Ferri. This is #45 again. The installation was very fast and straightforward, except for the problem also mentioned by # 6. At some point I guess "setup" launched the update procedure (I think you should leave this out in the GAOTD version) and Vista told me "update" (sorry, I haven't noted the exact name of the program) had stopped working (the "crush" #6 probably refers to) and was trying to (bla, bla)... But the installation went on without any further problems. As said, I ran activation before running the program, and that too was straightforward and "successful".

My PC is protected by the latest versions of Comodo Internet Security with the antivirus disabled and Avira AntiVir Personal. They perform (at least) daily updates to both the databases and the engines. So far I have never experienced any malware. I also regularly run the likes of MRT, Kaspersky, aSquared Anti-Malware or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I started the latter to run while I am writing this.

I told Comodo to treat Setup as an "Installer", which usually works fine for me. But if ever tou might think that's where the problem lies, I might take the risk to close the firewall down while reinstalling your program.

Just checked MalwareBytes. Nothing found. Next time I'll run a "deep scan". Inbetween i'm going to restart the PC. With Vista you never know.

When you record video from the desktop 1AVCapture hides automatically in order not to show on the final recorded file, you only have to click 1AVCapture's icon on the system tray to stop the recording.

If you are hacing problems with the storage folder, then uninstall 1AVCapture, and then install 1AVCapture from the GOTD package selecting a folder like C:\1AVCapture to be your storage folder. This should solve your problem.

I actually missed it because the day has been a litlle hectic as you can imagine. Well, the awards page is actually scheduled for rebuild because it must be greatly filtered, so I actually apologyze, it looks messy and although there are valuable awards in there, most of them were included there by me in a time I did not know the industry well, and I actually thought they meant something. About Tucows award, it has been granted to 1AVCenter as you can see here:
http://www.tucows.com/preview/519354?q=1avcenter

1AVCenter is the parent of the 1AV family, and 1AVCapture is the child that handles audio video capture and broadcast, so I mention the Tucows award on the 1AV family children as well.

Hope to have answered. Let me know if you would like to know something else.

Answering 54:
1AVCapturer can record from any video source but note that when you are recording directly from the desktop like in YouTube, it is recording that area of the screen and whatever shows on that rectangle, so if you open a window over the video being played, than that is what is going to be recorded.

Here's a new one - while running setup I was informed that it required DirectX 9 or later; I have DirectX 9, but was still unable to install the program. So...I downloaded and reinstalled DirectX 9; I did not overwrite it because I run my C and D drives separately for the purpose of one installation being unaltered by additional software, and the other for downloading and ascertaining a rather extensive amount of software. After reinstallation on both drives, and retrying the setup of 1AV Capture, I still got the same message window. I then installed DirectX9 into the folder containing the program and yet again, it was not recognized by 1AV Capture.
I always have found (#32) Fubar's advice and recommendations to be legitimate and trustworthy; I would really like to add this program to my collection. Can anyone give me a clue?
Thanks, and have a great day GAOD et al.

Installed with no problem on XP. Program starts recording (I could hear the hard drive clicking) as soon as it starts up and you can't stop it from recording. Found the files from this auto-start recording in the 'Runtime' folder but these are deleted when the program exits. Not sure what the purpose of that is. Recordings saved in the 'Recordings' folder remain. Disabled hardware acceleration in recording first attempt and that fixed blank screen problem. Seems to work fine but saved file during playback is not as good of quality as original on screen.

Answering 45:
1AVCapture installation was extensively tested on Vista, but as you said your case is similar to #6, did you get a crash on the start of the installation? I have seen this happen when there was malware installed on the PC that claimed to be a legit program, and then simply runs and does nothing but alters system parameters, you as well as #6 might want to scan the PC for malicious code.

Answering 41:
Yes, it can capture audio and video from UStream, but it can't be the source for UStream.
