It seems there is an overall set of 200 fonts (see the link under "Homepage"), and this giveaway includes the first 100 of them from the alphabetical list, names starting with A through N.

It looks like these can be installed anytime, not just the day of the giveaway. Is that correct.

TTTF or OTF. You can't install both? Which to install and why?

Suh S., https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/otf-vs-ttf-fonts-one-better/

OTF is "better"if you are typography oriented, TTF is O.K. for general use.

Hello,
does anybody know if any of these support accented characters (central European is what I am interested in)

Easy to download, but how do, you use them?

Reply   |   Comment by JJVastiau  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

JJVastiau, you use them when you want to write letters. If you mean how to install them: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-a-font-b7c5f17c-4426-4b53-967f-455339c564c1

there are 100 fonts in TTF and the same ones in OTF format. From that you should be able to figure out if you can make use of them.

the biggest problem with installing masses of fonts is it slows the loading of the programs that enumerate them and offer them in drop down menus.

Reply   |   Comment by TK  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

TK, the offer provided a zipped file. Unzip them and use a font viewer to see which you want to install. That keeps the problem minimized.

Do they work with Microsoft Word?

Reply   |   Comment by Dennis Comito  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Dennis Comito, It should work with anything. These are .ttf and .otf (True Type Fonts and Open Type Fonts)

Do these work with Open Office and Libre Office or just photo editing programs ?

Reply   |   Comment by Richard Woodley  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Richard Woodley, they're standard font files, so yes, they will work.

Reply   |   Comment by roofoo  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Richard Woodley, Oh yeah they certainly do. You can use any TTF or OTF in almost any word processor. Not much of a word processor if it can't handle that. Even text editors should allow you to pick from them unless its ancient.

All fonts are regular. Their names give no clue about their style: "calligraphy, monoline script, dry brush handwriting, grunge/rustic, elegant serif, clean sans serif, watercolor, cartoonish, horror, signature style, logotype font"

So you just have to open every font to see if you like them.

Reply   |   Comment by krypteller  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+27)

krypteller,
or just use a font manager like "High-Logic Main Type."

Reply   |   Comment by sflorg  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+30)

sflorg, is it free?

Reply   |   Comment by Peter M.  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-5)

Peter M., LMGTFY (Let Me Google That For You). I'm not going to do all the work for you. You have to go to this URL and actually read it yourself: https://www.high-logic.com/font-manager/maintype/comparison-chart.

krypteller, or you could browse the folder containing either TTF or OTF files with the standard Windows File Explorer set to show medium to extra-large icons to preview "Abg" in that font? (Double-click to preview, print, or install the whole font)

sflorg, agreed! Best font manager ever!

Peter M., if you want a free font viewer I've found dp4 does the job well enough.
