I downloaded and installed it with no problems, but when I used it to download a youtube video it says that it’s a trial version and can only record 75% of the video or something. Help?

Real Player lets you download YT clips. I’ve been downloading YT videos and clips on other sites with RealPlayer for a couple of years. This program is a complete waste of time.

Fubar: P1. That’s the thing though, they are terms in use. Regardless of your thoughts of such irrelevance, other’s may not agree. They fit what I was dealing with so I used them here.

P2: Despite the name, the converter instructs you to “drag and drop” “your flash videos” (or files, can’t remember exactly) into the screen; alluding to the ability to handle flash of all sorts. So; I took some flash files I had already; some from YT, some from some other sites. They didn’t work.

Personally I use the Real download tool and convert most of my flash downloads with UVC; and the troubled ones with VLC, or DVDFlick. Works like a charm.

For those that shot at me about it; I maintain that no program should ignore SYSTEM settings. FireFox is my default browser. The registration/purchase popup page should have loaded in FireFox. To override that and load IE on its own is not only poor judgement, it’s a violation of assumed trust between the user and vendor. That alone gets a score of 0 from me no matter how good or bad a program is.

#93, lostinlodos, nice try. Most forums are indexed by Google, so their entries will show up in Google search results. You’re trying to promote your own personal terms. I remember some guy on AVS Forum who kept trying to promote his own ridiculous and irrelevant definitions for PVR and DVR.

I didn’t install YouTubeGet, I don’t need its abilities, and if I did, there are better tools (and hopefully without such screwed-up installations). In the first place, YouTubeGet is only designed to download YouTube videos, so your remarks about other than YouTube videos are irrelevant. If you follow the link at the top of this page to the product’s website, you’ll note that its very first feature is that it will auto resume broken downloads. It’s intentionally designed to automatically download and convert complete videos. As for your remarks about rebuffering, YouTubeGet isn’t a streaming video player, but a downloader and converter. As for whether YouTubeGet actually does what it says, that’s another matter. I stand by everything I said in comment #25.

I am already a fan of Youtubeget after it was given away back in May of 08. I had tried a number of similar freeware apps that varied from behaving so annoyingly like malware that I uninstalled them to other freeware apps that were tolerable, but Youtubeget ended up being the easiest, least complicated one of all for downloading and converting flash videos as one smooth operation. I was glad to see the updated version of Youtubeget offered again today, because I didn’t have this particular pc running back when it was offered the first time, and it was one of the programs I really wanted to be able to use again.

for mozilla firefox user there is one plug-in ‘download helper’ that can be used to download videos, music and others downloadables from various sites including you-tube. but it doesnt come with a converter. i use quick media converter to convert those files if i want. free.

Tried to download something three times as .3gp but, after what seemed like an age, it produces a file of 0 bytes that QuickTime refuses to play. I’ll stick with the free download services thanks!

Nobody ever did tell us how they registered the converter. I'll check back again tomorrow, in case. To those who can't find where the downloaded files went- look in the folder for this program, wherever you told it to install to. Next time, when you go to download, look at the dialog box u get just before it saves it for you-it lets you choose where to save the files to. To those who only posted a link to another product & didn't bother to try this 1 or give it any kind of evaluation- that's very rude, & not what this site is for. MOST of us value the developers of programs they offer us here. Usually anyway. Make a small effort, at least, ok? A few free alternatives is nice, but the above amount was just childish & rude. ( & We all know how to use Google.) As always, thanks GOTD, & product developer! :)
