This program has totally failed in uninstalling a simple sofware.

I got Your unin-staller from giveawayoftheday.com recently.

More than a week ago I opened Your unin-staller to uninstall WinX DVD Pro which was given on giveawayoftheday days ago. It was the only program in red that showed on top as recently installed. So I clicked on it to highlight it and then on unistall blue button on the left side. I checked in the unistall wizard not the "normal" uninstall but the "Super mode", so it did the uninstallation and said there were a few things remaining that could be removed manually. Then it showed a short list of the registry entries that were left so I deleted them all. OK so we're done with the uninstallation. No doubt about the complete unsinstallation done.

I closed the Your Unin-staller and I see on my screen there open the screen of the WinX DVD pro that I just uninstalled!! (program was closed before the uninstallation) I wonder "what's this??". The WinX DVD pro is asking me to enter the key (that was emailed to me when I downloaded it from GAOTD) so that I have a registered copy. So I enter the registration key and suddenly I have a working registered Winx DVD Pro. The program was still intact in the folder where I had downloaded it and it works fine. But when I open Your Unin-staller WinX DVD Pro does not show at all, not under "regular programs" and nowhere. It did not uninstall any piece of the WinX DVD Pro.

That's all I can tell you. My computer is from last year and in good shape, I don't do any gaming or lots of downloads.

This is a great program. I already own Revo Pro, but this is a great give away for those of you that don’t. Before people go off saying Revo is free, yes it is but, if you are running a 64-bit Windows the free version can only uninstall 32-bit programs(installed in your “Program Files (x86)” folder). If you are running native 64-bit programs (installed in your Program Files folder), then the free version of Revo will not detect or uninstall them. This will. This is an added benefit over the free version of Revo.

After downloading AdMuncher Basic, when I went to this page I saw the offer to upgrade to AdMuncher Premium with lifetime upgrades at half price:

but when I try to accept the offer and purchase I get a message:

I tested Your Uninstaller on the removal of Aviosoft 3GP converter. What I did was link Your Uninstaller to 3GP install & Revo Uninstaller Pro at the same time linked to 3GP. Ran Your Uninstaller fully through the uninstall "agressive" then, ran Revo Pro. Revo found the program folder with 3 other folders in the "Program files" folder. Each of the folders inside the 3GP folder were empty. I will assume if I ran REvo Pro first then Your Uninstaller after there would be some files or registry entries leftover.

I installed the Uninstaller software yesterday (11/21/11) but the registration key is invalid. I got a trial version instead. I used the copy/paste function but it doesn't work.

Re: #126 Lorne could not install this app - failure to connect to GAOTD.

I am a friend of Lorne's and I found that his firewall was blocking access to GAOTD. Temporarily disabled the firewall and the progarm installed and performed beautifully.

I was removing an expired trial of Adobe Indesign CS5, but Adobe Reader 8 shared the containing Program Files(x86)\Adobe directory, so the orphan file cleanup window forced me to uncheck all 437 Adobe Reader files! (btw what's with the 'zoom' button - why not a standard resizable window?)

I've installed ten times without luck. I don't see the registration dialogue box and the program interface.
What's wrong?

Installed and registered OK in Win XP Pro SP3.

Seems to work about as well as Revo Uninstaller (free, not pro version) on my Win XP system (32 bit).

Question to developers:
I found several places where the program documentation was not as clear as I would hope - for example explaining difference between three kinds of Uninstall modes: Uninstall (the Del key), Quick Uninstall, and Advanced Uninstall?

When uninstalling an app, on my testing, one case it found 10 registry items to remove, fine. But the display box only shows 6, and has no scroll bars for either the list, or the width of the data.
Please add scroll bars to results display.

On my test case, using the medium/Normal mode of removal, it left behind the user\Application Data folder of data. Which was named same as the application it was removing, so would be nice for it to have seen and given the option to delete.

But on the whole, seemed to work decently, and the ability (not tested by me) to work in 64-bit windows is a definite plus.

Wow, #42 and #141, I thought it was just me. I did all the standard fixes too without any luck. I have downloaded this several different times, taken the laptop to a different connection, etc. For some reason, it finally opened, I hadn't done anything that I hadn't tried ten times already. But then the install stopped and Mamutu found a trojan. Long story short: before I was able to complete installation it had found four or five items that might be spyware. THEN, it wanted to download a toolbar and change my homepage. After unclicking all that garbage I thought I was home free. Finally, I could enter my registration number and get started. NO! I was informed that the registration number was invalid after cut/paste then trying again manually. Generally, I don't even bother with cheesy software that wants to force a toolbar and homepage changes but the reviews convinced me to try. But enough is enough! Disappointed and DONE!

Thanks

Wow , it does everything 1/2 dozen programs on my PC do do and it's so user friendly . I'm only a moderately PC knowledgeable granny but this one's a keeper !
Installed easily , runs very quickly and cleaned up 168 files that CCleaner and WiseCleaner missed .

Thank you very much !

Installed fine on XP3. I successfully got rid of two dangling remnants from a botched system restore that nothing among my free programs previously handled. I appreciate the option to have it create a restore point before uninstall.

It is glitchy though. Some of it is probably user error but I had to do a hard shut down three times when I tried to uninstall something and it balked. Fourth time was the charm. The user interface really needs to be streamlined. It's way too busy. The help file could use some improvement too. But it worked where others didn't.

I assume with learning curve I can improve the performance. So far it's a keeper. I hope to continue to use it without crashing my system. The usual thanks to GOTD and developer but thanks also to folks who will comment intelligently (and without bias!) and help the rest of us out. I often learn quite a bit from those more experienced or more adventurous.

The concept is fine but there are a lot of weird little things wrong.
@129, you're right. Russinovich is THE genius.

a) main screen, you CAN'T sort by "Est. Size" even though there are little triangles on the header bars. In fact NONE of those sort things work.

b) disk cleaner part - (at least if you close the window and reopen it everything is still there!) The sort DOES work but there absolutely be select all / select none buttons so you can go through in any mode and decide which files to erase or NOT erase.
b2) and disk cleaner part found WAY too many files that should NOT be deleted.

c) Main screen says "last access date" they are all clearly wrong. I did not run every program last tuesday. Duh.

d) what kind of a phrase is "empty gone"???? !!!! OK, at least there's a bubble help...!

e) hunter mode is cute. And a tip o'the hat to geekiness.

f) HOWEVER - advanced uninstall DID manage to find a leftover symantec folder that even UNlocker couldn't delete!!! AWESOME!!! It's only taken 2 years to snag that thing.

g) uninstall wizard part: very cute how you can expand the window to see the full registry path. A little weird that the program chooses a highlight color for the checkmarks in the boxes. They should have simply chosen black, or forced to red. I notice after you run the wizard part the mail list is all out of order again.

This installed without a problem for me on Vista HP.

One question: does this program have to run at Windows startup in order to "record" all the bits and pieces of a newly installed program, or will it subsequently pick up all the bits and pieces without having been running at the time of software installation?

What possesses at least 4 nimrods to give a thumbs down to the two posters who raised a VALID issue concerning a cryptic error message that I also get during the initial attempt to install?? (and yes, I know all about extracting zips and running as administrator)
Thanks to a brain dead programmer who failed to identify WHICH process is "already in use" or even identify WHICH software is spewing the cryptic error (is it coming from GOTD's wrapper, or the YourUninstaller software, or one of my taskmgr/process/security programs, or Microsoft's own flawed Vista64?) I have absolutely no idea where to begin troubleshooting nor the time to bother. Too bad as it seems a lot of folks like the app.

Unfortunately Sandboxie is not free (cost 29 Euros). Check out (Freeware) Comodo Internet Security which has a sandbox option for software that you do not trust yet.

However, most of the time I don't bother with the sandbox option, even though I have it. Don't have the patience. Simply Google the Internet for other users' opinions of the software. Then I make a judgement call to either -- delete the software / or install it.

Trust your intuition, which is a lot smarter than you think.

To recap my problem here, while set up was running kept getting a pop up box titled "Windows-No Disk"?? Then "exception processing message:
c 0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 7566bf7c 756bf7c
Had a heck of a time closing that error box, because it's options were cancel, continue, and ignore, but it still kept giving that message.
Anyone have any ideas on what this is all about? Had no problem registering, but program wouldn't even close. Did alt/control/delete, rebooted, etc. Finally ended up using ccleaner to UNinstall it but it still sounds from all the feedback like something I'd like to have here. Am running XP SP3.

@ 141- Happened to me too. I solved it by right-clicking on the .exe and selecting "run as administrator".

I saw and see no sign of Babylon. It also didn't take 10+ minutes to install. Maybe the users experiencing that have really large or really full hard drives.

I copy/pasted the Username and Registration Key right from the dialogue box that opened while installing and registered the product with no problems.

I looked into Your Uninstaller some time ago because of it's claim to completely remove trial software. From what I understood, it had an install monitor for use with trial-ware. As this doesn't, it would appear Your Uninstaller no longer has this feature.

Re Norton issues: Extract setup file, right click, go to Norton Internet Security, then Norton File Insight, click on Trust Now. Any executable file Norton doesn't know it will quarantine. This prevents that.

Using startup manager it hung a couple times too, so I'm afraid it goes bye bye.

Awesome! I have been trying to uninstall Crysis for about a year. The EA uninstaller didn't work, Revo didn't work, EA tech support couldn't find the problem (and send me a voucher for a free game as an apology). This program found the program, removed it, and freed up a whole bunch of space. Congratulations!

Presently the #1 Uninstaller on CNET:
http://download.cnet.com/windows/uninstallers/

This offering is every bit as good as Revo, with a single exception:

The "Trace Eraser" (for cleaning up temporary internet files, etc) only looks to Internet Explorer for leftovers.

There really is no excuse for that at all - not in this day.

Other than that, it is a magnificent giveaway.
Thank you.

I have never responded on here before but as I have used this product for many years and have a paid for version, I can say it is a excellent software. It removes the most stubborn products including left over Norton antivirus that generally takes it's own product uninstaller.

I don't know what version this is but regardless it will work well. Whoever wrote on post 112 wrote a lot but said little. It is a great product.
