Downloaded, installed, noticed that it says it's just the trial version. I thought it was a full version?? If you open the program, click on the Help tab, and it will say something about "How do I get the full version?" It's supposed to already BE a full version. Come on, guys, the software vendor's not playing by the rules. I didn't want shareware or an evaluation trial - can you get them to make it right?

Nooope, not even downloading this one.

No got Word (OK, aside from word 6 for win3.1 on the old '486 laptop), nobody sends me word docs (aside from my sister with her powerpoint jokes), and if there's a password, I'm not gonna look for it.

Just cracked a password protected word file taken from my work server.
Password was 9 upper and lower case letters with one number at end.
Not bad for 19 min.
This password was not a test doc set up for cracking. It was my bosses business plan for next year.
I didnt like what was inside.
Now I feel sick

#32 is the same ~Swan who blamed GOTD for showing personal information that she posted herself in the forums. The same ~Swan who subjected us to countless tirades against Glarysoft after her inability to understand their software caused her to trash her computer. The same ~Swan who recently resorted to thread-jacking in a desperate attempt to find someone who could tell her how Sandboxie works. The same ~Swan who now calls herself a "professional software reviewer" and "website developer". (I will admit that her "site", while little more than an exercise in ego-stroking, is good for a few unintentional chuckles, if nothing else.) Now she's back to talk about laws she knows nothing about and to plug her God-awful website.
Instead of trying to make people as confused as yourself, Bernice, why don't you do something useful, like bake a pie or plant some nice bulbs?

What a lot of experts here...LOL.
This is great software and has been working all day long for me.
Will the fools who like to "review" things before they even know what it is please refrain.
You are tossers, high on your own self worth...which is not much.
They line up here with no idea. They know who they are...there here all the time. 2 bit experts.
Check out the SOFTWARE REVIEWER SWAN.
This software has cracked 8 very strong passwords in 65 mins.
It does not send data anywhere.
It works on your own pc.
It is a fully functional program.
What is it with the poor folk here who know very little about computers and software, and then pretend to be an expert.
Very little to do in life I guess.
Love this program after 3 hrs of testing

I have no problem with only ME having this program. I just don't want anyone else to have it, since I do (or used to, now), occasionally, protect MSWord documents, believing that to be safe. I want to be able to hack into the documents I receive, but I don't want anyone else to hack into the documents I create.

Still, the fact that the software can perform this function points out the weakness of the MSOffice encryption algorithm, and I'll no longer be using this function. One could say it was the fault of the software for making this ability available in a mainstream software package, but if the vulnerability was there, I'd rather know about it via their self-promotion.

A tangential comment re #32:

In my opinion, charging for 3 separate password-cracking programs - all Micro$oft products - is taking advantage of people who actually want to install this software, so that the company can simply make more money.

I'm assuming that you are alleging that the software endorses Microsoft applications over other lesser marketable products, simply because it doesn't attack them. First, be happy that your software isn't on the list. Second, the fact that the software was created only for "Micro$oft" is only acknowledging that it documents created are in the most popular and ubiquitous format. If Linux or Apple had the market share that Microsoft did, you'd see just as many security flaws.

Anyway, the existence of this software should shatter any sense of security users of Microsoft Apps had with the built-in encryption. Get a digital ID from Thawte or Verisign for sending docs, and something like TrueCrypt to protect your documents on your local hard drive.

Word Password Recovery
Hummmm, Kinda Narrow, don`t you think.
I got this downloaded early & installed about 3:30 am. I do not Have Word to produce a Password protected document to try it on. This evening
after reading the comments I almost deleted it,but since Zonealarm has not ask for permission for anything to phone home all day I have decided to keep it. A protected file may be needed opened for someone else.
I will put this on my archive drive just in case.
I do enjoy trying these beta programs, but the best part of the site is all the comments.
This old bird would not send out an passworded document to someone that I don`t know, NOWAY.

So, in your opinion, ~ Swan, If you only needed to retrieve MS Word passwords, you ought to have to pay $100 for the entire Office suite instead of $40 for just the MS Word functionality? Or, while you are comparison shopping for software, you wouldn't pass on this developer's $100 product just because he didn't offer the $40 product you needed whereas someone else did offer it? Real smart developer, huh--taking advantage of people that way.

If you would have actually tried the software rather than basing your comments on the (mostly) inaccurate postings of others here, you would have discovered that Microsoft itself is aware of such programs and doesn't discourage their existence.

If you're worried about sending your documents to some not-well-known company in Russia, just don't send them. According to the help file, this is a feature for those exceptionally difficult to find passwords which someone like you would probably never have any need for anyway. (I don't.)

I hope the reviews on your own site are not this shallow. (Which, by the way, I see you so graciously left us a link for.) I wonder if such blatant self-promotion isn't a little out of order here, since you also put the link in its proper place with your name. Sorry, I'd just feel a little uncomfortable going to your site unless you were prepared to sign a non-disclosure, protecting my sensitive computer from your barrage of ads there.

Have a nice day. :)
