No new software to bicker about…

This is a lesson self taught!!!

No. It isn’t the “third day” this software has been offered.

It was available on June 6th. But not June 7th. And not today either, June 8th.

Then again, nothing was available on June 7th or June 8th, either.

Perhaps Slava and GOTD have finally decided there’s no bloody point in spending a fortune on bandwidth etc for people who clearly think the best thing that can happen is for GOTD to shut down and stop annoying them with free software.

Traditionally it used to be people congregating together under the collective call: “Let us pray”.

Here, it’s become a tradition for some people to form their own congregation under the collective call:

“Let us pay.”

Go on then. Because it may be that now you can.

Let’s have a look at what people are doing with their PCs: Gaming; browsing the Internet; writing and receiving email; perhaps a bit of wordprocessing; image and video processing. Computers have become more powerful, but so did operating systems. Yet, I’d rather have a good, external, program to do the tasks the operation system only performs in basic.

Have a look at other freeware sites, and you will see new versions of older software (mostly because of demands by newer operating systems – think of Vista -), something some here would call “reruns”. Really new software – the non pre-existing type of – will be hard to find, if not non-existent at all.

Those who condemn this “lack of creativity” I challenge to come up with something truly new, something that can be written into a useful and usable program… and who knows, one day we may have it offered here on GAOTD; until then appreciate what you get, download it if you think you can use it, and don’t if you can’t.

What I like are the comments that point out shortcomings of, or downright bugs in, the software offered here, and even more those comments that offer freeware alternatives to the software offered here. The programmers/developers can benefit from these to make their programs better, a kind of interaction with the end-users Microsoft (to mention just one) should have thought of, resulting in usable software instead of bloated ones.

I feel that the GAOTD-team is trying very hard to present something useful, and I want to thank them for their effort, imagining only faintly how difficult this actually may be. Those who are “negative-by-nature” about their effort I’d say: “If you can do better, then by all means do so, if not… shut up!!!”

About this program, this is the first video to flash converter offered by GotD which actually converts RealMedia files to FLVs. That alone is worth the price of admission for me. Thanks very much!
