That's pretty clear. As to it being a US law so you're immune if you're not in the US -- note the magic word "criminalizes". This means that if you use this tool on something where the copyright holder is American you are guilty of a felony under US law. If your country has an extradition treaty with the US you could conceivably have an arrest warrant issued by the US and your country would be forced to hand you over. At a minimum, if you ever visited the US you could be arrested at customs. Would the Americans ever do this? Who knows. They did make a big show of going after individual copyright violators when the penalty was just a fine. If you use this and then set up a web site to share the items I'd be very concerned. The US is not above violating international law to prosecute someone they want. Remember Noriega? All I was trying to get across is that messing with DRM has potentially severe consequences for a large number of people, so don't do it without considering the possible consequences. BTW: I'm not American nor do I currently live in the US. I have lived in the US and I understand how rabid they are about this kind of thing.
