@74: NO, it's NOT just you :-)

There ARE a LOT of "Whaah attack" victims here.

And they should write their own software and post it if they don't like free screensavers and breakout games.

@78: I'm afraid you've missed out on a good one. That disclosure statement was probably a standard one meant for the "usual" trial download customer. An "about" click tells me my copy is registered to giveawayoftheday.

Just a little bit of a learning curve to set up my hot keys but, WOW! I LOVE it!

@81: I love irfanview too but c'mon, you can't compare an image editor with a productivity tool on the basis that they share one feature :-)

@83: This program may be a little too powerful for the avg user if the registration process gave you any trouble.

This was a full piece of software AFTER you followed a tricky installation procedure. Unf. you won't be able to do that now as we've left the installation period.

#42 or thereabouts, "WinME"
taskban (and other ware) is a mini taskman, small, and runs on 9x. but i think you have to have it running for its hotkey to pop it up. once your computer's flaking, it's too late to startup the taskman

I was going to try Wirekeys. I downloaded it with the intention of installing it. When I read the disclosure statement it clearly stated that it is for 14 days, after which a paid license is required. It might be too much to ask, but can you tell me that this software and any subsequent software is delivered with full license because it comes through GAOTD? I love your site and the concept of it. Are you staying true to the originally stated concept of GAOTD which as I understood it was that the software offered was free to use indefinitely. (upgrades not included.) Someone at GAOTD please feel free to answer or start a dialogue. I deleted this offering. Thanks, in advance for your response.

Such a shame what's actually a very good and useful piece of software has such a poor installation process. By following the instructions from GAOTD (#13) and, crucially, #18's clarification of those instructions I have registered my copy - but the registration process itself (viz. double clicking to open boxes) seems very contra intuitive. That said it is a good piece of software - it dupes lots of stuff I do already but as an all-in-one "Swiss Army Knife" it's good, particularly for newbies. Just simplify the registration process by making the boxes into which you paste the email and activation codes more obvious and more easily opened (or if you're aiming high write a batch file that will insert the keys from a browser).

To 72:
I think it's not too much to ask to have a standard installation procedure!!!

Imagine you would have to read different instructions every time you buy a can of soda, a pack of chips or a carton of milk, imagine each would have a different way to open it?! That would drive you mad, wouldn't it?!!!

Most confusing program I've ever tried. Even when I finally find what I'm looking for, I can't get it to work without spending another hour fiddling with it. Guess I'll have to wait for the "Dummies" book to come out. Might be a good program if I weren't so stupid.

I understand the desire to please the "customer" (GAOTD user) but I think if they are too impatient to read the instructions, let alone ask for help politely, then they don't deserve the nice gifts we receive here. Of course I am not the recipient of all the hate-spam.

Hello everyone!

(There's probably no-one left to read this anyway! *laughs*)

I had no problems downloading/installing and registering, but I can sure understand why many were confused. I also support the idea of building the registering process into the .exe or setup files.

I spent about an hour looking around in the menus and submenus and I have to tell you that this truly powerful software SCARES me! And especially after the disaster with the Glary Utilities software!

We've had so many multi-tasking programs to test lately that I'm beginning to forget which program I've chosen to do what.

I'm serious.

I'm beginning to think that all the time I spend trying to remember which program I want to perform a particular task, that it's not really time saving at all. :/

This particular program has excited me though, if configured well (and David always does a brilliant job with software,) it will not only replace much of my other software, but perform other tasks that make it even more valuable to me also. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

Thank you Wired Plane Labs for this excellent piece of software! If it works as amazingly as I hope it will, you will always have my gratitude and happy recommendations to others.

Thank you always to GOTD on a difficult job well done!

Thank you very much for the program! It seems quite useful, but the help section needs to be definitely expanded. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to use the screen clip and where it saves it. I may be a real dummy here, but where is the clipboard? I think it saves it there automatically, but I can't find it. To tell you the truth, I'm about ready to uninstall it, because it's just too complicated to figure out.

@53:

The reason is because you use adbright which puts tracking cookies (but in this case it could be because it's grabbing data) into people's browsers, and thus it gets a spyware rating. It's not really anything you can do, and the only way to make it go away is to switch ad networks or just leave it.

Thanks!! This is like a little handy monster that blows a lot of other software away. For example, after installing this, i can easily retire the Actual window manager software (which was also obtained here). With all the functions, treaks, and plug-in possibilities, this is definitely worth more than $30.

I've installed the program and gone through registration, all with no difficulty. I've recorded a macro, but can't seem to find where to assign it a hot key. Can anyone help me on this?

Repetitive keystroking throughout the day has us using separate X-Key keyboards, so the macro function IS extremely useful.

This program is not for "Power Users" its for Nastalgia buffs. I did my time with "Macros" in the DOS days, now they're just redundant. If the program can do it all, why is it next to impossible to activate? Time Saver? Look at all the Time your wasting on the learning curve alone. You do a great job GAOTD. But Wired software is for losers. The only thing I miss from the Macro and DOS days is XyWrite.

To Franck: I don't know why. All it is, is an ad network to serve my ads (Hoping to pay for my hosting, which it isn't close yet.) Maybe I can research it more. I have no clue why TM would label this as such. A lot of big sites use AdBrite

I'll check it. Thanks!

Great Program, my installation went off without a hitch (but I had the advantage of reading the previous replies first). This is a very useful tool and time saver to me, everything I normally have to get/do from control panel/task manager, all from a simple right click. The Installation is a bit confusing if you haven't read here how to register it. Just keep the box with the code in it open after running setup and follow #13

Hello!
i`m using WireKeys for a lot of time and i wish to highlight things that you will rarely find in any other program, free or not. They are targeted at expirienced users though. Here we go:
- you can assign actions to clicking hotkey TWICE. it`s convinient! webdev-related example: assign Ctrl-F to mozilla and Ctrl-F-F to opera. Now you have to remember only one key to call browser of your current mood
- you can use mouse gestures, screen borders, TV remote buttons, key sequences and a lot of never-seen-before (but convinient after you try) stuff in hotkey. You can activate actions by timer or by typing special text (in any window!). You can assign *more* than one hotky to single action (sometimes it is really handy!)
- right-click on any window title. You will see additional items in the window`s systems menu. Explore it for awhile to see possibilities that are right here, under right mouse button.
- JavaScript-based macros with extended features. For example you can get (in macro, by special command) selected text in active application, handle it a bit and paste in the cursor position. Or you can process file that is under cursor in you favourite file manager
This is what coming to mind right now... but this list is not near the end (even).
Similar programs, like autohotkey for example, requires to write mind-twisted scripts and limited in terms of doing something really not-usual. You`ll need to write complete program (i`m talking about AutoHotkey that i used before) to do the stuff that is working out-of-the-box in WireKeys. The real question here is: did you encounter non-usual tasks in your everyday work? if yes, WireKeys is really handy. If no, you can try free stuff

About registration process.. yes, it is not clear... :/ just read instructions from #15, it`s 20 seconds process indeed... But the program is great. Just use the right tool for right task, that`s that

Its detects spywares, which it evaluates as dangerous, in some components of your pages (to be accurate : http://ads.adbrite.com/mb/text_group.php?sid=316343&zs=3136305f363030)

This is supposed to be a comments area. So if people have a genuine comment - even if it's negative then they should be allowed to leave their comments without being lambasted by everyone else who thinks that GAOTD is the best thing since sliced bread. This site would be much better if everyone concentrated on comments about the software (good OR bad) and leave the comments about each other where they belong - in your own head.

Even though I didn't take this free software, thank you all the same GAOTD. and the software maker. :) I do however have a small suggestion on a positive note.
It seems to me that a good amount of people that come to this site for a free giveaway never seem to bother reading the instructions for the reg. of the product.
More times then not, we see people crying that "the software is only a trial for X amount of days" etc.
Rather then all the confusion because people just plain out, will not read the instructions.
I would suggest if it is even possible. In every download have it register and install all on the exe file rather then have the person install the app first, then register or vise versa.
Believe me, I never had any issues getting things set up, because I read the instructions.
But! seems to me, a good amount of people on this site are all click happy and never bother to read the instructions period.
Then they come here b!tching and moaning about how the download is only a free trial.
Had they read the instructions in the first place, they would not have that issue.
Just a suggestion. Thanks again GAOTD.

An excellent program that runs well under Vista. I don't believe there is a freeware program (or even $$ program) that does the same or similar work, though there are combinations of programs that will. This is very convenient and well thought out.

I will gladly purchase this when a meaningful upgrade becomes available, and thank the developer and GAOTD.

SUPER!
