It would be best to have DVD9 convert to DVD5.

I had registered this program... it worked fine until it crashed 2 nights ago... now its no longer registered. Very disappointing... this happened once before on a previous WinX DVD giveaway of the day.

I downloaded this, REGISTERED it--and I know it was registered, copied a dvd and it worked perfect. last night i tried to use it again and it kept crashing. this morning it tells me I have an unregistered copy--what's up with that. I have purchased programs from winx in the past and have yet to get one that worked. For example I purchased a blu-ray ripper last fall and it still doesn't work--they tell me their working on it. i should know better! but when it came from Giveaway and read good reviews I fell for it.

Windows XP SP3 -- This program works but it is very frustrating to use.

1) Half the time I start it, it asks for the license #.

2) It NEVER remembers ANY of the settings I used in the previous use.
3) I can't put the startup icon in another location and get the program to run.

This program needs lots of polish before I'd consider actually paying for it. It is free for now but almost isn't worth the problems caused by poor or inadequate programing skills.

Crashes when a CD is inserted or even when in the drive upon starting the application.

Vista 64 bit.

Hopefully GAOTD will try again with this application.

Installed OK on Win7 32bit. However, can't get it to clone a DVD. It copies OK but won't do anything when I insert blank DVD. Also - and this is a big deal for me... it doesn't recognize my external DVD drive. It "sees" it but won't use it.

Too bad....

Can somebody please help answer the following questions?
When I open the program is asks to buy full license, as trial only allows DVD to ISO. It also says (Unregistered Copy) at the top. Is this what they are offering? It seems from the comments, plus their description, you can do more than this.
I have never tried backing up a DVD. I was able to get the ISO file onto my HD, but my question is how do I get the ISO file to a DVD or MPEG2 file. I do not see any buttons that allow this. The only button that seems clickable is the Clone DVD to ISO.

Thanks for any help.

We found some users met trouble unzipping the file. We have investigated the problem. It is probably that some of you are using the old version IE which is conflict with the setting of the server Apache. Lots of people have discussed about this problem.

http://serverfault.com/questions/77740/corrupt-zip-file-when-downloaded-from-apache-with-internet-explorer

Now we have fixed the server script to make sure IE can’t edit the downloaded zip file. Thus, you can unzip it without any problem.

For those who failed to unzip the file, you can download the latest version directly from http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-copy-pro/.

Thank you GAOTD, however, after downloading the Zip file, when I first try to open the Zip file, I get the message:

Errors were found opening.

You can extract files from this archive, but other programs may not be able to open it. Do you want to try fixing the problem.

Tried both ways, not fixing and fixing.

After extracting the .exe file, I get the message:

winx-dvd-copy-pro.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

I am able to open the registration .txt file no problem.

It looks like Digiarty listened to the comments here. I decided to uninstall WinX DVD Copy Pro that I downloaded Saturday and erase all files. Then I downloaded it again today and reinstalled it. Guess what it is all better. Looks like they used GOTD to test their software. I suggest people who had problems to try it again today before the giveaway is over.

This GAOTD Download is NOT like MOST... The Zipfile extracts a FOLDER (sub-directory) containing an Install file (winx-dvd-copy-pro.exe) and a License file (License Code.txt) !!!
The License file contains the Registration information.
... However, the License code has NOT worked for me.
Installed 5 times on a Win Vista Home Basic 32-bit OS
Core Duo T6400 @ 2 GHz with 4 GB of Ram.
Tried Installing on System Drive after D Drive failed.
Uninstalled then Re-Installed... NO Acceptance of Reg Code.
Also (in Unegistered Mode) Program does NOT Recognize my DVD Drive (with the DVD IN the Drive!!!

let me clarify this, ok, on win7, 64, it is completely loadable, seems stable, retains reg, everything works until burn, then, put in a disk to burn to, and nothing happens. This is a problem with the program. I made a copy of the film Martyrs with it, but in order to do so, I had to go to the directory for the iso and use Imgburn to burn it to the disk. Now, a program like dvdfab does not have these problems, Anyone have any idea of when dvdfab is going to be offered here again? Hint, Hint, Hint, comeone guys, put that one on again----see, free advertising, put it up again, and I will advertise it again

ok, now I know this software should work perfectly, I mean I have used other software from these guys, and it is good, so why is it that the burn button does not work? I mean the title is copy, is it not, but I can write an iso file, but not burn it. I mean, I can burn it using other software, so the iso file is fine, but this software will not allow me to do it, the burn button does nothing------ and the window hangs. I love free software, but please, make the software usable, otherwise it is just bad advertising

I have been using this since yesterday and have to say I guess I have been one of the lucky ones, I haven't experienced any of the problems many have expressed here. Every time I start this up I check and it's registered not sure why so many problems with this. I noticed complaints about it lagging or hangs up, that would be because the priority is set to high so it comes first anything else your trying to do will be second right? just adjust the settings.
I did mention that I would have liked to see support for DVD9 to DVD5, but other than that this is a great DVD copy software. Didn't bother with the DVD Author install because I already have it which is a good compliment to this if you backup to VIDEO_TS or ISO, especially seeing that it's now free, but you can always use your favorite burner instead.
Thanks Digiarty and GAOTD!

Problems (using windows XP SP2)
*Would not remember activation code, had to re-enter every time its started
*Working window too big for 1024x768 screen, impossible to move or minimize if burn is in progress
*Target drive should show drive letter otherwise very contuing when computer has more than one DVD burner
*Modal mode during diskcopy portion of DVD to DVD hangs up everything with modal window
*Did not burn copy, just did nothing when BURN button pressed.

A very unfinished piece of software.

Looking at the readme it says... You may also like our freeware WinX DVD Author... but it seems that the webpage to download this program is broken. Could you please fix it? Thanks in advanced and Happy Easter to you all.

P.D. Since yesterday I have this program installed and it works perfectly. A little question: Reading the German comments there is one who says that meanwhile you uploaded a fixed version. Is that true? If so, do we have to delete the yesterday version before or is it enough to install the newer one directly? I hope, my comment get some answers. Thanks again.

Noticed that some people are getting a single nonexecutable file after unzipping. The dl file is coded in Gzip, so a gzip extractor is needed. I used 7-zip (free) and still ended up with the one file, which you can then load into 7zip again, and view it to see the two files, which can then be extracted (readme and .exe). Instal and register was ok, has stayed registered for me, but, yep, the burn button does not work. Just use a program like Imgburn to burn the hard disk iso file to dvd, works, but still a bit of a hassle all around.

Installed and activated first try with no problems at all on XP SP3. Everything seems to work as intended. Haven't burned anything yet because I do not need to.

Comments on the comments:
1) “Initializing CD-ROM, Need to Access Internet” It is looking for a source. Click on source and select your DVD drive (D or E) or put a DVD in the drive and it goes away.

2) This software only copies DVD9 to DVD9 (dual layer) and DVD5 to DVD5 not DVD9 to DVD5.

3) In Clone copy after using it erases the copy on the HD unless you uncheck the box telling it not erase it.

*** I suggest you go to the Digiarty website and read the instructions on WinX DVD Copy Pro for all the functions of this software.

Installed and registered with no problem, no screen size issue. Running Win7 64, 20 inch monitor. Am using this to copy DVD to MPEG file for straming to the PS3. This feature is great and much easier to use than the DVD Ripper Platinum -- I could never find the right combination of settings for the best output. On DVD Copy, the video and audio quality are perfect. I have backed up 37 movies and experiencing one major issue. The user interface lists the audio options, i.e. English, French, Spanish, etc. I am not able to un-slect the non-English options and on 10 of the DVDs either French, Spanish or the Director's Commentary came out at the default audio. If I could speak several different languages would not be an issue, however, a Spanish Superman is not what I had in mind! :) Sent an email to Digiarty and they replied, 'if we find a solution we will let you know.'

had much trouble last night with the app crashing, unregistering and signaling the activation code was invalid. this was after unistalling 3 times.
deleted all copies and ran a fresh download. same activation code. however, after install, the app opened and appeared to have registed by itself. great...uh, not so fast. app crashed again. executed the app again, and this time it showed as being unregistered and asked for the activation code again. activation code shows invalid. would love to test this app. any fix??

After reading the comments on here thought I would try it.

Win XP SP 3 . Installed registered OK, as others have found it it does not fit the screen , so cannot see the X top right let alone quit , and right clicking on the task bar of the prog, no menue comes up!

So have to alt F4 to quit. For a professional prog this is really not on. There should be a file menu as well with an option to quit, and the top line symbols should have mouse overs to tell you what they do.

Have not tried to use it yet as England has yet another hot sunny day and we have to make the most of them !

Sadly this doesn't work for me, installed on Win 7 64 fine, but crashed on use, tried using compatibility mode, and now it won't accept the license key, even reinstalling doesn't work.

Maybe they need to reissue this release as it seems from all the comments here that it is severely buggy, maybe thats why its free !

Installed on Win XP Pro with SP3. Registered okay, but every time I start the program it asks me to register again and then loses the registration the next time the program is opened. The "about" shows it is a fully registered program when opened - - - after registering it again.

Does this mean that after April 30th the program will no longer accept the re-registration upon opening and will have to be uninstalled or bought?

This does not seem like the awesome offerings we usually get from GAOTD and Digiarty!

Can this be repaired or fixed?

*** Thanks ***

This is the tech support from Digiarty Software, the developer of WinX DVD Copy Pro. We are greatly honored to receive so many valuable feedback. Meanwhile, we feel sorry that the product brings inconvenience to some users.

From the above comments, we find there are three major problems.

1. The license code can’t be saved correctly. Technically, the problem occurs because non-English Windows XP OS doesn’t support Multi-char.

2. The size of the main interface. Though it is adjusted to the smallest size, it is still a bit larger to fit even 17-inch monitor.

3. Some users also have questions on burner model.

Actually, we have fixed the above problems and have uploaded the Bug Fixed version. Please feel absolutely free to download the current version from GOTD.

Besides, we will extend the giveaway for GOTD users to Apr.26 from our side. You can also download the latest version from http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-copy-pro/

It's our aim to provide users satisfactory video audio software solutions. We will certainly work hard to improve WinX DVD Copy Pro to make it fully meet users' demand.

I tried to copy a DVD and was not only not able to copy it to a blank disc but the files were never put on the hard drive to be able to burn the disc.

Not only do the copied files not appear in the "tmpiso" folder in "my videos" folder but when I put a blank disc in the drive and press the "Burn" button nothing happens and the blank disc is not burned.

Unless these major problems can be fixed I'll stick with DVDFab which I've used quite successfully for a few years now.

FAT32 will have problem. Just remember most dvd accept 4.7 gb and greater than 4.7 gb therefore you have to convert from FAT32 to NTFS format on harddrive if you use FAT32 , that will not work with DVD, suggest convert to NTFS. You can find the information from Microsoft on convert informaiton on FAT32 and NTFS format.
