I personally found the overall program to be wanting in many areas. Being a FrontPage 2003 user may be part of the problem. But overall the program is probably ok for the average novice user wanting a home site that don't have a clue to what a better program can do for him or her. The fact of having to go through all the screens to get to an editing or construction stage is a distinct disadvantage. Not being able to split screen to the HTML coding screen is a disadvantage. Not being able to preview in a click is a disadvantage. I never tried to map or see the NAVIGATION Layout but don't think that feature was there either. The cost factor does not outwiegh the advantages over the disadvantages IMHO coupled with all the other difficulties experienced by others it only gets a one * rating in my book.

There are many here who tried long hours to get it registered, but failed due to no fault of their own. Best offering so far by the look of it, but one that I cannot access! ARRRGH!

REPEAT SOON PLEASE! (Go GOTD)

If you ask me, we should have been given the info upfront and on the download page about the code being on the page after sign-up, and that we didnt have to wait for the email like they was telling us to do. I do NOT like dealing with people, or businesses that are decieving like that. I have enjoyed this site extrememly, but this company INCOMEDIA, I will pass on in the future to others about their practices.

I downloaded the program and installed it on two systems. Although I use Dreamweaver primarily and can read HTML fluently (that is how I learned), I thought it would be good to have the templates for ideas, etc.

It was very frustrating to install and should not have been that difficult. IF it were not for the wanting the templates I would have given up in disgust.

I have not looked at it yet.

I AM grateful to GiveAwayOfTheDay.com as I have stumbled on a few programs that I use daily. PLEASE can you do something to prevent this fiasco from happening again.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

I downloaded this software yesterday and tried numerous times throughout the 24 hour period to register it but without success. This is the first ever time since GOTD began that I have had such trouble, and it seems I'm not the only one here! Now I am left annoyed and dissapointed that I have missed out due to a technical glitch!

In view of the problems, can I plead with the GOTD team to repeat this giveaway, for the sake of people like me who missed out due to no fault of our own?!

Here's hoping, and keep up the good work!

Hey guys!A great job till now. But this website x5 was really a little tough! I tried from 22 hours left til 5 hours left, got the registration done, but never got the mail back from their site in time. Then I see they say I get 3 more hours to go - but guess what?? The extracted setup.exe won't install because the time is up??

Any possibility of actually getting this program? Or should I just give up?

Great job till now - I forgive you anyway - and thanks for all your trouble in getting this solved! Keep up the good work!

PS. I think I had less than 5 minutes before it was taken off freebie status, but I got it!

I have a question for anyone that can answer it: I looked at the top right of GOTD page prior to downloading it and I saw another freebie. It was FREE Windows Vista and it expired today! I became excited and went to the site, good job I read the small print. Its only for USA use and not Canada where I live...hmmmm. And here was I thinking that Canada was part of north America anyway...lol. Aaaaw, I did not get my free Windows Vista... bummer huh..lol.

Well after all the hastle I finally got the program installed and tried it. Some here have said it doesnt work. My test one worked. {I think..lol..I didnt want to send it to the net though, not yet..lol] Was it luck getting it installed? Dunno...yet..haha. :-)

The small print says no one can use it for making money anyways, so 'why' would anyone want to have a useless sitekmaker if its not to make money with? A homepage gives enough for personal stuff, right? I wanted to use my freebie website maker to help someone help 'down and outs' make money but I dont think its allowed [if down-and-outs is the right word for them - no offense intended to anyone]. So I might uninstall it...

I have tried to install this software, using a AMD 1GHz PC with Windows XP pro SP2.
Have only a readme.txt and a Setup.exe. After clicking Setup.exe installing begins. After a while with 3 error codes:
Incomedia setup
C:\windows\systems32\StdOle2.tlb
File can't be registered
Error: 0
==============
Incomedia setup
C:\windows\systems32\OleAut32.dll
File can't be registered
Error: 5
============
Incomedia setup
C:\windows\systems32\CPWCTL32.OCX
File can't be registered
Error: 5
============
Incomedia setup
Setup can't be executed because of registration problems
Error: 0 ().

=================

This is the end of the free Incomedia software installing test.
I wonder if Incomedia will do something to better this product (or installation procedure)

With almost 400 reviews......

I sugest when this problems are solved, please give this piece of software (tested well) another day again. I will not further install this, and not recommend it to all folks in Holland.

"error while reading setup identifier" comes because you also installed the new Evolution version. You can just remove the folder of v5 and then launch the uninstall.

GAOTD, please edit these posts to include pertinant information. I did a cut and paste into a text document and this thread now comes to 52 pages of text. Incomedia's support team has obviously made an honest effort to remedy the problems with this give away and should probably consider another day for an offering of their software. This day was an unfortunate crash and burn due to a simple oversite on their part (for which I am sure "heads will roll in the morning"). Well chalk it up to we're only human.

If you got lucky and got the software WOOOHOOO. If not, then from many of the posts you are probably better off with something that will produce clean, viable HTML that will be properly viewed in all browsers. The most damaging posts to Incomedia and their software indicated that this program produced poor HTML code and that the real "heads that should roll" are in the programming department. Incomedia, you should have known that educated users would really test your software and give you an honest response. Well you got it in spades, 52 pages of it, along with some serious design errors documented. Good luck on your fixes.

Jeez, i've never seen such a hype for a single peice of software thats ever been on GAOTD. Amazing programme, only thing i would like it to be able to put a graphics in the header at the top of all the web pages. Like a logo etc. Would it be a violation of the "non-commercial" license to use this program to create a webpage for a company?

Releasing a buggy, rigorously untested will make the software developers and giveawaytoday.com a bad image. Irrespective of whether a software is free or not, it should be easy for everyone to install. I think Website X5 is just a beta version which does not merit a place in commercial giveaway. Commercial software companies should thank all the people who have downloaded and commented the various buggy issues with their software.

OMG!!!! I have been coming here for about a year now & have been pleasantly pleased...from time to time with very nice applications that I really use.

The kind that make my day a bit easier-if for no other reason than I am a busy guy with not nearly enough time to keep up with all the new offerings out there. That in itself is a high point for me daily...even when the snoozers are posted.

The concept is quite good & I am thankfull for the hard work the GAOTD team does.

That being said this is my first comment and here is why-this is one very amazing little tool.

*****************WARNING NO TECH HEADS BELOW***************WARNING****

For all you entrepreneurial folks out there who understand time is money-this is the ticket for you.

I am a marketer and most times I have to paint the picture for my techie staff & they usually are at odds with my creative dept...

Point is the above comments on this wizbang of a program are in my opinion from the tech guys...and God willing no tech guys take offense here as I have nothing but respect for them.

I just know that if we both leave the office to go to the store we would take two completely different routes with both being exactly what we needed.

I have wrestled with frontpage...homestead...go-daddy...dreamweaver etc and while that is a generalized statement as all of the above are apples and oranges...and maybe a lemon or two..lol

Point is the tech guys pick up dreameaver or frontpage and it is like riding a bike to them.

Me and the rest of the avg joe's need a month a frustration to get anything to look half way decent and each time we open it it's like starting all over agian.

Then with the the other two lemons it looks like we posted it rite out of 1995-template hell.

This program is something I sat down with today and posted a site concept that I took strait to the client...past creative..past my tech guru..right to the guy who makes the decisions and signs the checks.

Now the final version will be done custom by my staff-but thats not the point.

I have small business clients who can spend an hour with me or one of my creative guys and then sit down with his sketches to build his own site that he can for many years be proud of. That hour is also at a higher profit margin for us beacuse it is consultative work.

This is a very powerful solution and I for one intend to become a reseller partner here in the states.

Any mlm folks out there get this and retool your personal site asap-get rid of that clunky template that everyone else in your company has.

*****************SAFE FOR ALL TO READ AGAIN***************************

That being said...this thing rocks even with the challenge of downloading.

Thanks GOATD!!! This is a nice piece

*!**%$!_IT!,

I tried for 2 hours to make this thing work...read 300 comments, went to Vendor, DL'd it , blew it Off, Dl'd it AGAIN, Closed all running. Apps, closed windows, reconfiged Firefox, ran ALL ThREE browsers at once, ..FINALLY it all went "PERFECT"....Uh until I tried to RUN it ! "RUNTIME ERROR 429" "You do not have the appropriate license to use this functionality"!!! WHAT's THIS?!
C'Mon ..it's 58 minutes till midnight, I've wasted my whole Friday Evening on this thing and I have nothing to show for it. And, adding insult to injury; this is one of THE few apps I could REALLY benefit from having. Thanks anyhow GOATD! But my distant relatives in Italy just can't seem to grasp the idea of KISS, registering this app is much like working on Ferrari's.....they overcomplicate EVERYTHING more than need be to achieve the end result whether it's an Engine or an App. Thanks for allowing me to rant as Friday the 13th comes to a close. What a waste of time
