#38, mike, Ctrl-A is Windows-standard select all, and .NET apps can be made completely portable.

#37, etc., Ignat Titus, steganography is completely different from digital watermarking. Many digital watermarks are designed to survive things like media manipulation and format conversion. Services like Digimarc can monitor the web for your digital watermark and notify you of infringement.

32#I try WatermarkLib and in free version don't work batch function and is only non comercial.PhotoWam is free and batch. With SWF printer pro(freeware from Bytescout) it is possible to transform each documents printable in pdf and swf so i think rhat i will try to put image make with Text hide in swf format. Also pdf2swf open source change pdf that can contain images in swf but view only with Total Video Player. With an extractor image from swf i think that we can read hide text.Remain to try this.

Just got it in time. This is absolutely superb software. Does exactly what it says perfectly. I think this software is worth 10x the asking price. It's worth paying for something that works so well. Thanks GOTD, I shall be ordering additional copies for my other machines.

With Text Hide we can write 2 boock in the same time:one is visible and one is hide and save as pdf next add a new watermark with JPDFTweak soo we have triple watermark and if you put passord on pdf document i don't know who can rip it total this pdf.Someoane must to make a soft named:Multimedia studio watermark to put watermark visible and invisible on video, audio, photo and acces with password and posibility to automate this action. At the start you put everything without watermark, next make setting and put hide text if you want and after that push on go and at finish you have multimedia with watermark, like an industrial proces.

This is a very good program and it does batch and many other things that some of you say it does not do. It is a little bit different in the way you have to go about doing things. I would bet this was written by one of an Asian culture and for them it does make very good sense. I usualy have harsh things to say about much of the programs presented here. This one I will say although not perfict it is well done and if you need a water mark plus the other expras in this then now is the time to get it. It is well worth the money if you have to pay for it.

One more big Con,

I can't seem to add an entire folder this is not good for a batch watermark program so now I am I won't give it a thumbs up I'm nutural and the more I play with it, the less I am finding I can do.

So I'll stay even thumb but you've got some work to do but you have a great foundation especailly for a v1.0

Downloaded and installed on windows vista 64 bit easily.

Pro's
Easy to use GUI
*Small Download
*Lot's of fonts
*Has several templates to select.
*Nice aray of options to chose from in the elements area.
*Great because you can add layers right from the main window. Most programs go in steps, causing you to have to go back to make any changes.
*Has the ability to keep the size relative to the picture, this is lacking in most watermark programs i have tried (about 10). Great job in having this function.

Con's
**When I try to edit a text watermark a few times the program froze up and I have to use task manager to close it.

**I like the templates but I can't find how to alter the color. For example you have a present called Protected and it is green with a black border. Rather than recreate this I can't find a function to change the color, typeset and so forth. Why not allow your users to customize the presents? It saves time, and would be a most useful feature.

**No built in symbols if you need to add a copyright you need to use alt 0169 on the keyboard.

**Does not have an embossed sample, the best I could get is a white colored watermark which doesn't do well on light colored photo's.

**Lacks some features such as mirroring
**Vertical Watermarks
**Clear embossed (best emossed I found thus far is BythScout but you can't manipulate it either)

Overall,

I really like the program but it is missing a few features as mentioned in the con's section.

I saw some in the forum were able to manipulate the samples, please tell me how you do this, I don't see an edit button for the sample Protected, I would like to change the color and put in my own text rather then recreating an entire watermark.

After sampling many programs I find this easy to use, has many features and if the con's could be addressed it would be one of the best.

I give it a thumbs up even though it doesn't have everything I want but hopefully they will make changes based on the comments here.

I also see this is versin 1.0 so it I'm assuming it must be new, please keep us posted on your updates, I would purchase this program at the price if some of the cons were address.

I am asking the group or rep to tell me if I can change the templates text and color.

Thanks to GOTD, PixelApp,and of course all of the testers.

We must remember that sometimes our spy ware and virus ware submits a false positive . so keep that in mind when you get a warning on soft ware from this site ,. in all the time I have used the soft ware from this I have never gotten a virus nor a spy ware , I had at one time 187 games on my hard drive from this site and not one of them caused an alarm from my virus or my spy ware soft ware, nothing is 100% infallible . I am not smart nor intelligent but just relaying my experience with Give away of the day . You would want to check all alarms out and make sure they are right or wrong. the gray matter in between our ears is sometimes the best protection from mal-ware . I am sure there are sites that will check the files out for you if you look hard enough for free.

Watermark Express lets you place & manipulate objects on top of the original image -- when you've got everything set it pastes these objects permanently, saving the new image. The *Object* part is important, & it's useful... rather than just import & paste a picture, you can do things like rotate, size, & add shadows, in many cases prepping & fine tuning the watermark image right in the app. Text works much the same way, & even after saving in a template remains editable.

While it's object handling is more sophisticated than some, as others have mentioned it's surprisingly weak when it comes to batch processing... usually the part watermarking apps get nailed down first. It's odd to see a button for selecting a batch output folder, but none to import the batch to begin with. Rather than selecting an input folder, you have to browse inside that folder & then select individual images -- thankfully you can click the 1st image, then shift click the last, importing the complete folder that way.

To add & manipulate objects you 1st have to import a template & then click the button to edit it. As others have pointed out, this opens a 2nd Window -- that doesn't bother me, & should have little effect (if any), but placing it *exactly* over the 1st can lead to confusion when you want to do something like move the window & find the original underneath.

The program itself is small & except for the application settings folder self contained. It needs .NET, so it can never be a fully portable app, but Portable App Creator *should* get it working off a memory stick -- the emphasis on "Should" is because registration is hardware specific, & I don't know if it checks when opened / run if it's on the same PC [I won't be able to find that out till tomorrow].

My overall impression is that [this version at least] Watermark Express is very much a niche product... If you do a lot of high volume work & need a LOT of images marked, the batch features might be too weak & annoy you. If you want to use something quick rather than your main image / graphics app, Watermark Express might take almost as long to use. If you don't fit into either of those categories, & don't have (or want to learn) an advanced image editor, Watermark Express might be a great fit.

I posted following comment in the Project Team's blog for software informer that is a standard part of the GAotD-downloads now.

Because moderators take all day to pass the comment I post it here now to hopefully make it available:
--
Many false positives with anti-virussoftware due to this extra software in the download. This will definitly scare people off.

Publishing your complete installation to some unknown server only to know if there are upgrades possible for your installed apps. Who wants that. I like to control this per app. and I can do this from within most apps.
I certainly don’t need extra software to do that.

Newer is not always best! (Many times true with drivers but also with apps.) GAotD are not to be upgraded!

The good thing is that you do have the option to not install the extra.
The Bad thing is you have to download (dial-up users won’t like that) and your anti-virusscanner may go into alert.

How to discriminate between real virus alert and the false positives.
Does GAotD make extra garanties?

For me this is a very very big thumb down !!

I can't remember the name of the last water mark program you sent thru, but I found that I could create my own water marks with paint shop pro, then save them and reuse or create a new one they work great and to my eyes look just as good if not better than a watermark program can do..
but if you have a lot of photos, and you don't use a program like photoshop or paintshop pro, then a water mark program would probably be good for you, just remember to always make a duplicate copy of the pic you are working on so if for some reason the program or user of said program messes it up you have an original to go back to...
I am passing on this one thank you for the offer..gabby

GOTD Moderators omitted my previous post - why? I don't know. GOTD moderators, next time, please read our comments carefully - otherwise, what's the point of you moderating this forum.

So, here is my comment again....hope you post it this time. Thanks.

PROS:

*** Smooth and quick download/installation/activation on Vista x64 SP2 OS.

*** Simple, clean, intuitive, easy-to-understand, easy-to-navigate GUI.

*** Complete, thorough, Help Guide, fully contained within program.

*** Successfully batch-watermarked 30 photos (23.27 MB sum-total) in about 30 seconds.

*** Simple, easy, overall program use and operation.

CONS:

*** GUI could be much more visually appealing and attractive, IMHO.

*** Registration information does not show up anywhere in program.

The program looks impressive - lots of features and flexibility BUT (and it's a BIG BUT), it requires .NET to function.

Sorry, I took .NET off my PC ages ago for greater security, more reliable operation and faster performance.

If you ever produce a NON-.NET version, I would be very interested.

And just how can this program protect my copyright?

Copyright, is the righr to copy and not be copied. This program just by changing the image is in vilation of copyright law.

It may be a useful program to some people, but I do not as a rule trust programs that have half-truths in their buy-line.

Win XP SP3. Installed fine. Ran quickly. A no frills watermark program. I do have a major problem, though. For me, even after registering, it still displayed the demo orange marked. Now others have not mentioned it, so this has to be something in my system. Each person's system is different, although how all PCs are set up in each home is probably similar. When I uninstaled it, I ran into a problem also. The registration key was not uninstaled by the program uninstaler. I had to run the Revo Unistaler program (free) to clean the key from the registry.

Clean install, this is a .NET app, so it's very slow to load. The program itself needs an Internet connection to register, or you can do it over the web manually. Heavily template-based, opens a separate window for editing templates which I find annoying. Doesn't have a convenient way to navigate to the template folder for saving (on Vista, it's typically in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Watermark Express\Template). Scroll thumbs don't scale. Windows can be maximized but not resized. For once, I agree with Ashraf on a number of issues. The template delete feature doesn't work, but the usual Windows methods for deleting work (just don't delete an in-use template). Personally, I wouldn't release a 1.0 version with this many UI problems, but it does watermark.

These types of watermarks are for amateurs. If you're serious, use digital watermarks (although seriously smart people can break them). A good place to start is the Digital Watermarking Alliance. Check the members, they have all sorts of interesting solutions. For the simple images case, you can use Digimarc for Images, but it's expensive.

FYI, speaking of .NET apps, even with uninstalling and reinstalling, PC Fare Meter quit recording window captions correctly on my PC a long time ago (bad coding). They've released a portable version, which is correctly recording window captions so far.

Avast-users will get a virus-alert using the 'setup.exe'.
This is a false positive due to the extra software informer.

I don't know why the moderators don't want me to tell this but I'll try again and hope best of it.

Avast-users best download the trail from the pixelapp-site and use the data from the GAotD-downloaded 'Readme.txt' file. This will work and Avast will be pleased.

Moderators are you blocking because I refer to the software home site?
Than cut that part away.

#5, StUnNER:
The trojan warning you're getting isn't about Watermark Express -- your antivirus can't even see that that program's installer during the download because it's hidden away inside GAOTD's "Software key wrapper" -- but is rather being triggered by the Software Informer installer that GAOTD is now pushing on us with every single download.

(Yes, this means your antivirus is going to be blocking every GAOTD download for the forseeable future.)

Also i try now:Photo Pos Pro soft profesional and comercial that now is free at cnet.Have advantage that you can drag and drop photo to open and when put watermark like this you can drag and drop and rotate(put with:add text). Also have some batch function but i don't know how to work. Also is to make:bussinesss card, greeting cards, buttoms, page on Internet, edit graphics, etc. At install don't put to be default for grafic if you don't want to open everything that is grafic. And must to have patience:have 38 mb and install work not soo easy.I think that is only for XP.This is another free alternative not only for watermark but for more others. Also text on photo can do:Photoscape and PaintNet that are also free programs.
