Late Comment: Please verify Easy Thumbnails procedure. It was great at XP, where we could right click the selected photos and select Create Thumbnails from the menu. It didn't open the main program window, just did the job saving the files _th_Name.jpg in the same folder of the original images. The resized image settings could easily be set in the open program. Unfortunatelly, this freeware doesn't work that way in Windows 7, and that could be your market advantage! I've asked them to review their software, I could pay for those features, but they didn't listen. Would you?!

Hi again, I would like to add something to my earlier Comment #37. My tests were done on good quality photos and good quality graphics - hence (I presume) the Results were to my satisfaction, and I stick by it.

I did some more tests enlarging (again good quality) 800x600 jpgs to 1600x1200 and was happy with those results too.

However! Enlarging average quality photos or paintings has my mixed feelings.., so I wouldn't say Ultra Resizer is in the same league as mentioned here more expensive enlarging Programs like for instance BenVista PhotoZoom Pro (accidentally one of my older "regular" Tools:), and other Programs I have, or Users are trying to compare Ultra Resizer to, or test against (quite rightly so, and always, always appreciated!), but - because of it's uncomplicated nature, size and speed, and naturally what I'm happy with - I give Ultra Resizer enough credit to keep it.

It really is one of those individual choices - either it works for you, or not. I could perhaps argue here that name "Ultra" might suggest something "ultimate".., but in this case I'm not going to bother, so - easy, lol.

#7
lossless ?!?!? really?
You cannot say "lossless" and "jpeg" in the same sentence, and you certainly can't say them when you are talking about resizing.
Look at the math before you post comments like this one, that will just confuse the [other] noobies...

I'm not going to comment on today's giveaway except to say that if you're serious about enlarging photos, then you should use specialized software. ReShade Image Enlarger was recently on BDJ, and an earlier version was on GOTD. There will be the usual whining about how you can't recreate what's not there. To some extent, that's certainly true, just as you can't perfectly deinterlace when there's motion, as you have no way to know what the original pixels were. Specialized enlarging software basically determines the shapes of objects before they're enlarged, so that curves and lines can be enlarged reasonably accurately. Additionally, they usually have algorithms for reducing noise, such as JPEG artifacts. I took the images from the Ecmos soft website, and compared their enlargement to that using BenVista PhotoZoom Pro 4 (and no, they don't use fractals, those introduce artifacts). The difference was obvious. I test links before posting, and my photo-hosting service hasn't been responding all night/day, I don't know what's going on and I don't have time to hunt up a suitable alternative host. You can download trials of image-enlargement software, but when not on discount, they're very expensive.

Installation like it should be. I compared this progs resizing with Irfanview results. Irfan pictures were more crisp and Irfanview has more possibilities in modifying resizing pictures. But big point for this prog, using is easy and intuitive.

Downloaded and installed as advertised - once activated - closed adn then reopened the program to remove the logo across the pictures... worked great on my pics - I used it on recent vacation pics that I always shoot at the highest resolution so I can crop - and this program efficiently reduced and placed them in a new folder without a hitch.
