Maybe someone else figured this out - I can't seem to find the setting for this (and I'm usually pretty good at this sort of thing)...

How do you stop this proggy from transforming a 33kb jpg into a 67kb png??? Makes absolutely no sense when trying to save bandwidth.

In all honesty this is far from user friendly.

I could not install this on XP. The error message is "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

I retried a few times and even though GAOTD says that the program has been activated, I don't see a new program group under the 'Programs' menu or any new directory under '\Program Files'.

Can someone please help?

If you want afree web site editor then you should get it from the people that write the rules for web design - W3.org

They offer Amaya free. http://www.w3.org/Amaya/

This is what it is (from the program itself):

Amaya is a Web client that acts both as a browser and as an authoring tool. It has been designed by W3C and INRIA with the primary purpose of demonstrating new Web technologies and helping users to generate valid Web pages. Thanks to the European (FP6) Palette project, Amaya 11 is much easier to use, through its new user interface and its innovative templating system.

With Amaya, you can manipulate rich Web pages containing forms, tables, and the most advanced features from XHTML. You can create and edit complex mathematical expressions and graphics within Web pages. You can style your documents using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

It is much better than todays GAOTD offer and lets you design working web pages that will pass the W3 validator.

Wow! I can't believe so many people wanted this software. What you see on your computer is not what I see on my computer! People! Get that into your heads. It never has been the case, and never will be.
Internet Explorer and Netscape had different ideas on HTML, JavaScript and just about everything else from the very beginning. Twenty years later, they still can't agree on a common coding for browsers. Microsoft continues to oppose Mozilla and even the latest browser from Google is "incompatible"! Opera has never been standards compliant. Then take a look at the range of Linux browsers! WYSIWYG is a bigger joke than the y2k fiasco.
All you folks can do is to learn XHTML from the world wide web consortium and support their quest for a "Standard" browser. A typical schoolboy is making web pages within half an hour and after 8 hours, is considered an expert XHTML coder! It really isn't hard and you will laugh at yourself afterwards for trying today's software.

Wow - what a solution looking for a problem.

In this day of free template-driven "site builders" available from almost every web host worth using, why would anyone need something like thish? Ultra-lame

Also - what is this new "sticker" feature on the site - it's terrible. Intrusive, and unnecessary. Please get rid of it.

Fully agree with Ron (#38) - if you have already created your website using FrontPage/ SharePoint/ Visual Studio/ DreamWeaver, you cannot open your site in Ultima.

While downloading and installing was as usual a snap, I get the screen warning me that I have a total of 3 uses left. Now, that isn't free then, is it?

Checked out the available features too, I find that it has very basic features alone. For example, how does one insert a Marquee or Blinking Text? Even if one can, it is sooo not intuitive!

Again, shouldn't an HTML Editor costing US$ 69 include an FTP client as well? I know, there are many freeware FTP Clients out there, but it is a pain firing up your HTML Editor to edit your pages, then firing up a separate FTP Clients to upload your changed pages!

Ultima might be okay if you have never built an HTML page: for those who have, it is not exciting at all!

Online Entrepreneurship is a lot more than merely building HTMP Pages, linking them and uploading them to your web server. Visit http://welloiledpc.com/webdev.htm to get an idea of all the tasks involved and pointers on how to accomplish each one of them!
