I am surprised at all the negative comments on the GAOTD forum.....A lot of people complained that it took longer to read thru the list and make the selection than to type the word....But I find that my required word is often the first or second on the list (!!), so it really cuts down typing time since you can finish many words with just one click. People were annoyed with all the pop-ups, but the more words you can finish with one click, the faster you go. Even if it popped up on every word, that would cut your typing time down considerably! I don't find it annoying at all. I think maybe people didn't use it enough--the more you use it, the better it gets at typing the right word at the top of the list. Usually most things we write have a lot of repeats within the same document, so it's really good if you are writing on a particular topic. This is especially true if you have long words that get repeated a lot. Since most desired words seem to come first or second on the list, this should speed up even the fastest typists. By the way, you can set how fast you want the pop-up to appear.

Well, I write in English, so it's the only dictionary I need :)

By the way, I checked an official site of Typing Assistant, and I still don't understand where are their dictionaries from. Are you sure they do not violate any licenses ?

Take a look at Type Booster. The latest version introduces a suggestion in a form of tooltip. It does not obscures your view while typing.

#40 That is right, I work with foreign language and many typing is just repeating, then it is useful for me. This basic tool should not be very helpful for everyone, or it must have been integrated in Windows.

I think users who said this program is annoying should know more about it. Anyway I like this program, it is designed thoughtfully in my opinion.

P.S The GIVEAWAY is expired, but the special offer on the developer's website is still available.

@mike, #42:
Ofcource every process running allocates resources on your pc. This is just stating the obvious, so clear, I thought it was not worth being mentioned. So does TA use resources to, no question about that.

The thing is, will it slow down your work. Ofcourse when you are multitasking and running batches or something like that while typing, you can easily get into a situation where everything gets to be very different and you are going to notice that you're stressing and straining your pc. Perhaps you'll experience little freezes while typing in such a case.
TA will have it's part in it, so will those batches or your pc-configuration etc. TA will not have a big part in it. TA allone while typing in Word or something like that, will not give you problems, not even 'driving an old car'.

My point is something more general and apart from your wallet or your particular pc use and configuration.

Definitely annoying if you run it constantly and just let it nag you, however apps like this can be handy for repetitive tasks... form letters... PR releases... etc. but you have to take the time to set them up. It's the kind of utility that's worth having in your toolkit.. nobody said you have to start it with Windoze and let it become a CPU hog.

Useful. There was a program very much like this for DOS, way back when. I can't remember its name - does anyone remember?
