Helps you get back all kinds of lost or deleted data on Android devices.

True Launch Bar is an ultimate experience of a manageable file system. It gets the best of MS Windows OS and streamlines it for greater comfort of use. Its unique system of switching toolbars and expandable menus gives instant access to files, applications, and settings from the taskbar. In addition, overlay images and skins give system polish and slick looks.

True Launch Bar is a superior replacement for the standard Quick Launch bar. All functions presented in Quick Launch are also in True Launch Bar. However, the True Launch Bar is fully compatible with Quick Launch because it uses the same folder for shortcuts.

But there is one huge difference. True Launch Bar allows you to combine your shortcuts into groups. This feature looks like popup menus. This vastly improves the management of your shortcuts and save working space on your desktop.

By using True Launch Bar, you speed up the launching of your applications like never before.

True Launch Bar Features at a Glance

  • Compatibility with Quick Launch;
  • Ability to group shortcuts into menus under separators and titles;
  • Ability to switch toolbars with the change of active application (Auto Sensing);
  • Support for Drag-n-Drop;
  • Support of Windows XP Visual Styles;
  • Menu for recently accessed files (last run or run count);
  • Ability to display thumbnails and file properties on a menu;
  • Customisable hot keys;
  • Customisable design (buttons, menus, toolbars);
  • Customisable default commands for buttons and mouse behaviour;
  • Password protection for shortcuts and settings;
  • Additional plug-ins and skins available online.

I downloaded & installed True Launch Bar on 1-14-07. Everything works great but I can't get rid of the "DEMO VERSION' in the taskbar. Please help.

#4 RANDY WROTE: "Ok, is this another trialware just for consumer to try for limited period ? if thats so then sorry i’m out.. .

#21 DEBBIE WROTE: "I just spend half an hour responding to #6 and lost it when I tried to submit ....."
- Debbie... and in fact, to everyone, what you should always do, is have a little notepad.exe text editor open, always, and always select-all then copy and paste your post into NOTEPAD before you click the SUBMIT button. Then if something messes up, you won't lose what you spent all that time typing. You can even copy/paste into your little notepad once in a while if you notice you've spent some *thinking* time composing it. Then, not only will you have a backup, but you'll have a little history record of things you posted now & again. But always paste a copy of your text into Notepad before clicking submit. Get in the habit of it. Then you can just paste it again in 2 seconds rather than losing your whole message. :-) Helpful tip from the 'Specialist'.

#21 Debbie Wrote: "You can edit the startup menu by running MSCONFIG and deselecting programs from the startup tab..." --Giveaway site also had a little free startup utility just for that purpose a couple days back. And... a tip from me... you can get a program called "Windows Startup Inspector" from WindowsStartup.com and it's free. Not even shareware. FREE. Either way, you're right that one can deactivate any of the programs as people wish.

#33 DJeni aka Minuette wrote: "i cracked it." --You cracked a program that you could get here for Free? wow. you're pretty smart, huh. lol. Hey! Maybe next you could 'crack' INTERNET EXPLORER and Firefox for us.

LOL @ #77. I can't believe they would attempt to crack a free program. This isn't good for the software distributers to keep contributing to the free downloads if this crap keeps happening. Next step, they keep doing this garbage and noone will allow any free downloads in fear of this, mainly the ones you usually wouldn't get a trial or free download from. What's next, breaking their own file encryption??

Not a bad program but a bit OTTP for my needs and doesn't really add to the way I use my PC. By the way, this is not meant as a criticism of the program simply that it is not for me but I like the GOTD concept as a means of trying out programs.

I thought it was an overall good program. It's not for me though, I can do pretty much what it does only without it. However, my son loves it, it's right up his alley. I don't hate it or anything, I gave it a thumbs up. Nice for some but not for everyone.

#33 & #36 > Takes a lot of brains to crack a FREE program, lolll. If you can't afford it, go without it, you'll live. I think there may be a lot more to do with Crack than the program here.

I'm debating if I should install this or not. It looks pretty useful, but also it seems to "bloated" - like a toolbar in IE that has a hundred buttons.

I think it would be better to keep my desktop & toolbars "bare-bones" in order to keep my computer running fast and smoothly and not be cluttered with too many buttons.

What do y'all think?

[...] This is a very interesting business model. Tonight, I tried out the True Launch Bar from the site. The way it works is you download from their site and un-zip the file. With the installation routine, you will get a file called Activation.exe. You run that file first, which basically sets up your license for you. You then install the software. Very easy. Neat application! I wish GOTD would abandon the "comments" section. Ungrateful novices seem to clutter them when they don't do their research on GOTD's operation or policies, much less the app's operations first. Thanks GOTD for your efforts in supplying neat applications that benefit someone everyday. But, let's end the insanity with the comment section! :)

This is a Nice program.
#54, one of the plugins allows virtual desktops and other active elements, (motherboard monitoring, wifi monitoring, command line, etc. Kinda like linux) SO.. If a crash happens, I could dual boot to linux and fix it... nvm Anyway, this program does not do away with my quicklaunch menu, I just disabled it temporarily. Read? Who reads instructions? I havent formatted in years either, But I believe in opensource. There are many freeware programs that are great and are just that FREE. GOTD has a great freeware library too.
Thank you GOTD. I do now check this site everyday and enjoy the occasional software.

I've been using this app for many years and am a licensed user. makes grabbing apps, lacunhing VPNs or RDPs to the many servers I look after very fast.

#54: I guess you haven't sat down and investigated the app. You create a folder structure in a specific directory, and you can place your shortcuts in that. You then reference this directory from within TLB.

After a format all it takes is an install and pointing to the directory you created. Simple.

Don't know why you feel sad though - I'm a system/network admin, IT manager & web developer, with 15+ of years experience...

NOTHING IS FREE. I have not had to format for 4 years now, after learning that freeware is Not. I don't have spam coming at me anymore. I appreciate the work on this proggy, but I don't have a problem placing quicklaunch Icons in the order I want, Windows allows it, takes 3 seconds. If a Crash Happens and you reformat, The bar is gone and needs to be reinstalled so how will it put back QuickLaunch Items that aren't even reinstalled. As a Comp Tech, I feel sad when People don't read up on their operating system to find out what it will do without downloading Program after Program.

Does the license allow this program to be used on a work PC since nothing created by this program will be sold or otherwise provided to customers? Is using this program in a work environment for helping with personal productivity an acceptable personal use?

I've been using TLB for years, and its inclusion here only proves to me -- and should prove to any doubters -- that Giveaway of the Day truly is the real deal. Their fingers are on the pulse of the most useful types of software from quality software developers. TLB is an excellent example of a quality piece of software that is supported by an active user community. "Skins" for the toolbar are readily available, so if you're all about color schemes, you'll be happy. In my opinion, it is both more useful and more useable than JetStart, which was another recent GotD offering. JetStart is good at a few little things but doesn't allow quite as much in the way of true customizability as TLB does. I already strongly recommended this software for pay, so for those of you reading this today, I certainly urge you to take advantage of this gift!

I also want to take this opportunity (longtime downloader/lurker, first-time poster) to not only throw my support behind the GotD team and the business concept they've employed here, but also to tell those who care to do the same NOT to be discouraged by the frequent negative posts here in the comments section every day. I'm guessing (or at least hoping) that the majority of the supporters out there are like me -- they don't "look a gift horse in the mouth," but instead quietly appreciate the daily offerings and do their best to ignore the naysayers. We really are out here, GotD team, and we thank you!

For the rest, though, here you go:
* If you can't download from the main link, try the mirror instead. Still doesn't work? Patiently wait 5-10 minutes and try again.
* Read the instructions. Most d/ls either have a complete and integrated 'setup.exe' that will both install and activate the software (or display a popup that tells you how to do so, gives you a key, etc.) OR an 'activate.exe' file that you need to run separately. ALL d/ls have a README text file. Read it first and follow its instructions.
* Many users have suggested running the 'activate.exe' file first, when available. That seems to be an easy solution to the next issue.
*If, after you think you've done everything right, it still looks like the program in question is running in 'demo' mode or isn't the full, unlocked version, it's user error, not a sudden change in GotD's policy for the day. COMPLETELY shut the program down (or, at the end of the install routine, choose NOT to run the program), and then activate it. If it's still within the giveaway-day window, I promise it will work!
* If you are especially distrustful and run anti-spyware or anti-virus programs that you have set to lock things down tightly, expect to run into difficulties every once in a while. (Pay particular attention to this if you can successfully install a program on one machine but not another.) Again, this is a user issue, not GotD's problem. Figure out what's causing the blockage and temporarily disable it on your computer.
* This site offers one program -- one that normally costs money -- for FREE... for ONE DAY and ONE DAY ONLY. If you d/l a program from this site, you are not somehow granted immunity with regards to paying for that program for life. "What happens" if your hard drive dies and you need to reinstall everything from scratch (and don't have a ghost/snapshot you update frequently)? If you like the software enough to want it on your new hard drive, you will need to go to the software developer's website (follow the link from GotD's site!) and BUY IT. Same goes for if you want to upgrade to a new version or need full support for the software for some reason. That's the idea. The developer gets to get the word out on the street and earn greater consumer loyalty, and you get free software, at least for a limited amount of time.

Enjoy today's download, and future ones as well. If you like 'em, let people know. If you don't, AND you have something constructive to say, feel free to post those constructive thoughts. Otherwise, while you might enjoy the momentary thrill of seeing your username posted on a website, don't get too excited; most other people seeing it are most likely just rolling their eyes and ignoring you.

Thanks again for TLB!

I have been using TB for over 3 years (I paid it ) and I am more than happy with it.
I also use "Start Killer" (Freeware from the same company) in addition to TB, it removes the START button completely, so you only have the TB which is really all you need.

Excellent software.

Many thanks, to GOTD and to KIP, #8. Some I hadn't heard of there, and Sideslide looks worthy of a place on my system, beautiful cleanware - that you just copy over to upate and delete the folder if you don't want it any more. Might give TLB a shot as well, but don't want to depend on something I can't re-install later if it all goes belly-up. Took me long enough to get used to finding stuff in WinXP.

I've been using their free product (http://www.freelaunchbar.com/) for about a year now and it is FANTASTIC. A wonderful enhancement to my start bar (and to my desktop, since I can remove so much from it and put it in a quick menu).

Assuming that the normally-pay-for version is even better, this is a MUST GET. Downloading it immediately.
