I’m a little confused about the install of this program. I was at the last step when it says something about installing this program on a different drive then where your files are stored…

So if I want files on my C:/ to be backed up – does that I mean I need a different hard drive to install this program on?

I might have misunderstood this – and if you can help out – I would appreciate it.

This software is ok for backing up a single machine, but if you have a more complex setup and want to backup a network device you need to have a drive mapped to the resource before you can back it up. I need to be able to backup data on hidden network shares and this won’t do it as you can only access ‘My Computer’ devices.

For a freeware alternative try Cobian Backup 8 (which does do network resources).

The program works great on XP pro. 12.5 gigs backed up in just 10 minutes. Some trouble downloading. None of my download programs seemed able to download with either the Firefox browser or IE 6. I just downloaded it using IE itself. Everything else went smoothly.

zhuk, mik, On my isolated (non-internet) networked pair of computers I used the manual activation using a flash chip for transfer just fine.

Other than the files and folders it creates in Program Files, does the Titan installer change anything else on a PC (I have XP pro)?

Time machine is a program that does that. It is for *MAC* comes with the OS.Comes free but will cost u an apple.
