Locks up when I drag a folder in the window. Won't search within the folder. Keeps demanding Itunes even though I am working locally.

For all its faults iTunes does actually allow you to get things done
This is as close to being completely useless as it is possible to get
It hasn't managed to identify a single track including those that have already complete tags!!!
What is the point of having "Other" as a genre ? and only a handful of pre-installed options
Is this really going to clarify your music library?

Having several problems with this program. First-It cannot find my Itunes library. As far as I can see, there is no way to tell it where to go. Tells me to install latest Itunes. I have the latest on my computer. Then when I drag and drop it either locks up my computer or takes an extremely long time to bring the library over.
After finally getting something to load, I find that each duplicate song has to be done separately. I could have done that without this program. It will be uninstalled. Sorry!

#9 Had same problem until I found I had an extra space at the end of each line when I cut and pasted.

Installed fine, scan ran fine and displayed results, after this the program hangs if you try to do anything else. Win 8.1 64bit

So far:
Downloaded and unzipped fine - makes a change.
Registration says successful but in fact it has not. Had to do it manually twice before prog would run.
Then the programme locked up.
Restarted and all fine.
UNFORTUNATELY of the 22 unidentified files I have asked it to update data - it has failed on every one. Even "Moon River"!!!!!!!
So not a lot of use. Will probably uninstall later.

Installed fine but it hangs up and crashes when I select Scan iTunes. When I use Local Music Clean it correctly identified duplicate files and deleted the extras. However, my iTunes library is massive and since the scan doesn't work I'm uninstalling this.

If you are daft enough to bother with ITunes then you will probably like this software but imho totally useless

Installed and registered without a hitch. I have a massive music library and it is a pain to organize so I've been looking for a program like this that would make the chore easier.
Sorry to say that this program isn't it.
I chose to clean my local library, instead of iTunes, and I chose one folder. I had four albums in my .38 special folder and I added all four albums to the program. You have to single click each song and then click "Identify" for the program to search for the info. Once that is done you have to click "Apply". It took FOREVER to find the information and then there is an extremely long pause while waiting for the program to "APPLY" the information is retrieved.
After the first song, I went to the second and the program stopped responding and crashed. I opened it back up, did the second song and then on the third song it stopped responding and crashed again.
That's about as much as I want to fool with it. Fifteen minutes to tag two songs and experience two crashes. Thumbs down for me.

Idea: "Remove the requirement for iTunes. Let the program work without iTunes, if only used for local music library.

I have installed Tenorshare Music Cleanup on a WinXP without iTunes.
I did a scan with the program on a local map by switching from "iTunes Music clean" to "Local Music Clean".

Then I dropped a map on the program.
It was very difficult for Windows to handle 780 items.
The PC had only 1 Gb memory and the program needed 2 Gb.
After a while i saw the results

This may work well for iTunes, but it doesn't work all that well for music either acquired from another source or recorded manually. For those it's just as easy to work without this program.

tried this program and it found 399 duplicate files. when I tried to use the program to remove those duplicates it only let you do it one at a time. tried several and my system crashed. I uninstalled this app.

First of all, I cannot possibly begin to express my hatred and disgust towards iTunes. It is practically a virus. Unfortunately, as an iPhone and iPad owner, which I do enjoy, it's hard to get away from.

Unfortunately, this app reports that the iTunes file is locked?? Maybe because it launches iTunes?

Secondly, it looks like you can manage non itunes music, but only a file at a time? Drag and drop did not work for me. Win 8.1 Pro 64.

Just installed and tried free tenorshare, does anybody know any software download that REALLY DOES WHAT IT CLAIMS.

Tried several songs, 1st it would always try to change the genre to other, and the drop down box did not allow the ability to add a custom genre. Incorrectly identified music. For example: wanted to change Maneater by Nelly F. to "Pista Sin Título 6k, The GTGs, Gdgdg" HUH???

Most of the time got "identify failed, must edit manually"

A search results feature from the console would be helpful to look up a specific one that you wanted to edit.

Regarding my question on #7, nevermind. I found it.

installed the program as per instructions, entered the registration code provided and as with several other programs ive tried from GOTD the code or the email was not accepted as valid, tried 3 more times and then deleted the file and setup info, this is really starting to get to be annoying, i was going to buy the program if it worked as advertised but now no way, dont know whats happened to GOTD the programs they used to put out were checked before putting out for distribution apparently not any more.. :(

Just downloaded and tried the "free" copytrans manager .... 100 actions then $20.... I don't consider that free.

I don't like iTunes but I'm cheap...so back to iTunes.

Downloaded without problems on my XP3. However it gave me registration information to register the program and sent me to their webpage. I cannot find the place to register on their website. Do I have to register it to use the program? If so, can anyone tell me where is the "register" button is on their site?

I recently had my hard drive replaced and my Itunes library got loaded twice by mistake so I really need this program to work.

I can't say anything on the iTunes part because I didn't use iTunes nor I ever will. However, this tool also offers a folder mode and it's... horrible.

Drag and Drop out of a the 64 bit version of windows explorer (on Windows 7): don't work. Drag and drop out of a 32 bit alternative filemanager: program crashed. Any option to add a complete folder: not existent. Marking all files and try to add them: program crashed. Hell, this is not even working with only 100 files, I don't wanna know what it would do if I try to load all my libary with it. Also crash here, crash there, crashes everywhere. I can't understand how anybody could even release a software in such a state... and $60 normal price tag? I laughed hard... sorry, while I find a automtic(!) tagger and duplicate cleaner useful, this one only deserves a thumb down. Maybe the iTunes part works better, but if a developer isn't able to make the other half of a program working at least somehow right, I wouldn't trust him anyway. Beware.

Works very well on my iTunes library too. So does what it claims with no hassle. Highly recommended!!

Give it a THUMBS DOWN bcs you don't use iTunes is simply ludicrous.

Got it installed just now. Works well on my iTunes music library. It not only finds the artist, title, genre, but also album art. I really love the album art.

Nice program to find missing audio track information like artist, title, album, but I prefer more Streaming Audio Recorder which would help to identify ID3 tag automatically and edit track information manually.
