A followup comment to earlier: on a different machine (Vista) with different AV and firewall setup, I DID manage to get Spartan to install -- and had to kill the setup.exe process that was clearly waiting to be told the Spartan installer had finished and never got the message. However, the software installed and runs well -- the interface is quirky and unusual: I found the flashing messageboxes irksome (like someone else here but understand what they are and when they go away) but find the lack of a minimise to tray option surprising. I'll experiment: the unusual interface has clearly been designed to fit a need and although I'm used to straightforward lists, I think I can see the appeal. So thanks, guys, and if there's a feedback option still around in a few days or weeks I'll post some more informed comment.

But the new GOTD wrapper definitely needs work :)

@#46 Thank you for being helpful unlike the other dirt bags who marked my comment not useful. I am trying to learn this site, and it is nice to find those willing to lower themselves to help. THanks again

I think it would be better if there was a way to decide what is saved to the clipboard rather than saving everything automatically. I was working on a large word job today which involved a lot of copying. I didn't realize everything was saved to the clipboard. It wiped out everything I had previously saved yesterday without giving me a warning notice. Basically this makes the software useless for my purposes. Or possibly add a keep function so your common phrases can be stored permanently and not overwritten after the 25th entry.

If I thought that I had an insight into a giveaway product that was worth mentioning, that no-one else had, then I would leave a comment. But I don't throw opinions around for the sake of it like many others do. Plus, there are visitors to this site with far more computer "savvy" than I have, whose opinions on software are certainly more valid than mine.
As for "steeling", you cannot steal something that is free! The only reason it is free for a day is for the developer to attract interest in their website, possible future sales of updated versions of the giveaway product, possible sales of their alternative products and to generate subscribers to their e-mail lists! This is a perfectly sound, legitimate marketing tactic and I am no less grateful for the freebies, but I am not naive enough to think that they are doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. That's also why I don't think it is disrespectful to mention comparable free alternatives. If they are expecting to sell their product then they should not be afraid of a free alternative as their own product should be so much better to justify the fees.
Finally, if there is one piece of software you could do with downloading, it is a spellchecker, Dude!

#67 Ben Falls - May I suggest you watch all the 'Help' videos on the Spartan website. I think your issue might be addressed there. As far as the word 'Kid' being utilized in the answer to you and your response that you are 30 years old I find to be a hoot. It is a matter of perspective. Someone that is 31 years old most likely would not use the word 'kid' to describe you. Someone that is 60 years old would use it and not think it disparaging but a fact. The mention of 'libel' in the response, whether true or not, sure makes me wonder what was in your initial message. Could the tone of your message have been taken as a bit rude and immature?

This is the first program that I have downloaded since the installation change. I guess that it is registered since it says full copy, but it leaves a box on my toolbar saying 'activating'. Is Spartan registered?

Thanks GAOTD for this useful program. Installed in my desktop machine and works nicely. However, when trying to set it in my HP laptop (Win 7-64 I get a message "Failed to connect, try again later". I removed all protections but does not help. Any suggestion? (One hour left to register the program). Thanks.
