#30,yes,it can cut MP3 to 30 secs.
For me,WMP 11 closes halfway through trimming everytime.Somebody help fix this.

This is truly a very handy plugin for WMP. Its not very complex, so even the novice can get this plugin going, and put it to some good use. A definate two thumbs up on this one. As always, thanks GAOTD for the free stuff.

With another movie it works well. I change my rating: in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 8 points.

It doesn't work well with Media player 11. I get the message Can't get duration of the first stream. So in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 1 point.

Simple to use but not perfect. Free… so get it anyway :)

My first test flunked, as I tried to snip 5 seconds from a DivX or XVid movie file. I’m guessing that there were no key frames in that portion of the movie or something like that, not sure. Second test, 9 seconds worked great.

This is ‘Very Easy’ to use. Great interface in MS Media Player. Simple and does the trick.

Works “okay”(I’m a video producer who normally uses Sony Vegas)but did find that for some edits, the inpoint doesn’t work. I took a 48 second clip and tried to edit from 8 seconds in to 15 seconds (out). It did not find the in point, but did find the outpoint.

When I deleted the created file and did it again, this time setting the inpoint at 11 seconds in, it worked fine.

There seems to be some minimal edit point from the start of a clip that has to be set before it works correctly – I assume this is a bug that needs fixing.

Couldn’t even pass my first three tests! First I opened an AVI file and specified 03:57 and 05:00 and started it. Almost at the end came up with error:

“SolveigMM Video Editing Engine error: The data is invalid. HRESULT: 0×8007000d (Unspecified error hr = 0×80004005)”

Then I tried an ASF file, which it did trimmed, but just the end since it did not trim the first 5 seconds of the video as instructed, even when re-doing it many times.

Don’t waste your time with this. I’ll keep looking for something that does works.

I have windows media player so once downloaded I should be able to use this as directed by above posters.

My question is, does anyone know if I can use this program to cut MP3 files to 30 second clips to use as ringtones?

Thanks for any feedback that can be given. I deal in graphics and I’m completely lost when it comes to music files, just starting to get my feet wet in that area. lol.
