Hi there, Tried it today with my puny 128 flash drive on Windows XP.
It never worked. Yes it found the file but it did not restore the file.
I then tried it as a wild card and it found all the deleted files, and it did not restore any of them either. Obviously this is not ready for prime time. Uninstalled.

Did not work! It is a load of rubbish! Just use "OnTrack" data recovery. That works 100%%!

Re: 41 & 54 by radiospotz

No one is questioning that you were able to recover
pictures. I am glad the GOTD proved useful to you.

What I was commenting in post 35 was in response when you stated:

"Please, if you are not bothering to try it, then keep you comments to yourself, it is counter productive for this site and all others here who sincerely are interested in the software posted here. I beginning to feel there are people with hidden agendas that comment here."

No hidden agendas just well intentioned people trying to steer
you clear of Smart PC Solutions.

My experience with the prior a Smart PC Solutions product was it crippled (not crashed) my system such that I choose to reinstall Windows to get some functionality back. Judging from the feedback to post 5 must appreciate the advice given.

Based on my past experiences I was just trying to steer you clear of Smart PC Solutions. Judging from the feedback to post 5 must appreciate this advice. Yes I am not happy with Smart PC solutions but have no hidden agenda.

In general I agree that no one should critique before posting.

However, the exception to my way of thinking is for vendors like Smart PC Solutions products with a very long and poor track record at GOTD.

Regards

Had trouble installing it myself also. Wouldn't accept the GAOTD registration info. For me, this was the problem: I installed to app not to the default location, but to a different location. Wouldn't accept the reginfo. Then, uninstalled, deleted the now-empty installation folder, then re-installed to app's suggested default folder. Now, the registration worked. Weird.

IO won't go into it much but: had a hard drive recovery problem up until a week ago. I had taken my slave hard drive out of my pc to work on another HD. When I went to reconnect it my pc wouldn't read it.
I looked all over the place and found a program that you could check out before buying. The prog is. http://www.data-recovery-software.net/

R-Studio.
It costs but if you work with fixing people's PC's when they loose data or mess up their master HD. It is well worth the money. I have it on my flash drive. I take it and a small external hard drive and have repaired many pc's and recovered lost data.

Says it will support FAT 16/32, Um, what about NTIS????
It gets a thumbs down just for that !!!!

#11:

I think about 80% of all programs here are produced like that.
I bet, some of them are produced exclusively for GAOTD because they
couldn't be sold anywhere. But I enjoy the other 20% of useful programs. It can't be christmas everyday and if it would, it wouldn't be special anymore.
