The latest editions of Paragon’s SlovoEd dictionary series include English-French, English-Spanish and English Explanatory versions for desktop PCs. There is no need to turn pages of imposing volumes to find the necessary word.

on all computers the english -english keeps asking for registration…..rest of them are still working – no reply customer service ;(

I emailed Paragon’s Support today (October 1st 2009), and Alena quickly fixed my problem with registration which was caused by an error in the system.

What great customer service at Paragon.

I downloaded and sent my request for an activation/key code around 3 hours after it became available. I heard nothing despite a message the code was being sent, so I applied another 3 times with no less than 12 hours left……. I never got a reply to any 4 applications for a key
and I’m just interested if others suffered the same way.

When you still have any problems with the registration of your SlovoEd Dictionaries from Paragon, contact the support.

Today I got a new reg-code with a friendly:

“Please, accept my sincere apologies, your problem is caused by mistake of the system.
The registration code for your copy of SlovoEd Dictionaries is D70….
Please, accept my sincere apologies for inconvenience caused again.
Best regards.
Alena Leonova-Vendrovskaya”

I downloaded the thing.
I registered it.
and still it asks me for a registration code.
I don’t have one.
please help.
good tool but exasperating as when i entered code it asked me to pay!

This is useful software for non-English, French, etc., or others while learning a language. If you’re already fluent, I suspect that like me, you’ll find the definitions sparse, and the windows far too quick to pop up. I have the same gripe about Bing! It can ruin a browsing experience. You want to browse with the keyboard. How about a right click menu, or highlight and click?

I agree with #20, Godwin, that WordWeb is good as an English dictionary and thesaurus (not for translating like SlovoEd, but far better than SlovoEd's English Compact Explanatory). The free version is good, and will use text-to-speech (which isn't very good at pronouncing words). The Pro version is better. The Pro Bundle is coming up on Bits du Jour on the 5th, it includes the Pro version plus massive additional word lists (without definitions).
