Worked fine the first day but now gives me an error code at start up, "something expected at Line 1" and then appears to work fine (I just have to click through the error code)

The clock looks nice...and the sync works nice; but I ended up uninstalling it.

I was a little taken aback when I found the clock app takes 12 MB on my XP Pro box. To me, it takes too much in system resources for what it does. I'll stick with the standard taskbar clock and have "Scheduled Tasks" run Dimension 4 once a day to sync the clock.

The clock would shift position at windows restart... it was nice to have a built in alarm, but there really was little to like about this... and not being able to read the time at restart kinda ruined it for me.

<i>Another example of a product which solves a non-existent need. There is nothing wrong with Microsoft’s built in clock.</i>

Except that it doesn't include the option to display date too along with the time.

#79 while what you say is true for *some* non-vista advertised programs given here it is not the solve-all you claim, some are just plain incompatible with the vista sound subsystem or with DirectX 10 implimentation with certain Vista drivers even when MS cerified and supplied them.

If a user honestly had an offering break explorer on next reboot after instaling under vista then even if there happens to be *one* tweak combination that might work for one user (your-self), if they are not forced by the installer or in some big bold anouncment withh the offering, then it is best avoided by the majority of vista users.
Remember not all XP uninstallers will know to remove virtualised file locations and registry entries if things do go wrong and an uninstall is required.

Vista users!

I'm posting this again since we seem to have people who don't understand Vista.

This application works on Vista just as every other application I’ve downloaded from GAOTD. The trick is with Vista is that you often have to run each installation element as Administrator.

When I installed SkinClock I ran the activate.exe as administrator by right clicking on the file and choose “Run as Administrator”. Then when I ran the install, I also used the “Run as Administrator”.

If you have activated and installed as administrator and you're still getting errors, go to the Compatibility tab and under Privilege Level put a check mark in the box for “Run this program as an administrator”. Click OK and it should work. I did NOT have to do this step for SkinClock but have had to use it for other GAOTD apps.

Just remember on Vista that many times you’ll have to use the “Run as Administrator” to get applications to work due to the UAC. That’s a much better way to do it than turning off the UAC altogether. If these terms are unfamiliar to you, please do yourself a favor and get a book about Vista and learn about it.

Take a little personal responsibility and learn how to use the new operating system rather than just blaming everyone else for the problems that you’re having running applications. You chose to install a new operating system that would take some learning to use. It’s getting tiresome to see all the posts about the free applications we’re receiving not working on Vista when the problem is really with the user and the way the application is being installed/used.

This is pretty slick and I have pleasently surprised. I like the looks so it in the sys tray. I will bel testing th alarm feature in the morning, but it has the potential for me to remind me when bills are due, etc. The main window is easy to navigate through, although I would prefer a different skin, so i will look at their website. I have tried numerous clocks and this is the first one that I will keep. Thanks GAOTD

Good News! I e-mailed Abyssmedia about Audio Converter Plus reverting back to trialware and received an e-mail back within hours

"Please don't worry - your registration not removed. This is a bug in activation module.
You can download update from http://www.abyssmedia.com/downloads/acp305.exe"

I downloaded and installed the update and it works perfectly!
Thank you Abyssmedia for clearing this up! Great Program!
