I've been strok'n keyboards long before Win 3.1 came out. I've seen all kinds of programs and even assisted in developing some. This program has definate value worth mentioning. The interface is not hard on the eye's and does provide valueable info to those that "know" what to look for and how to read the data infront of them. SEO is no simple tasks...unless you PPC, then you don't have to know diddly. You could have the most optimized website on the internet and it will still get trumped by a $0.20 PPC advertiser with a junky 2 bit website. There are so many variables in SEO that you could spend thousands and only end up at the bottom of first page results. The key is "relevance". How relevant are the words on your website related to the keywords a person uses when searching. I used to spend a grand a month on google click-thru's. Until I did a lot of reading and playing with keywords I was able to cut that expense in half.

This program is excellent. I've looked in the past for similar and didn't find a whole heck of a lot. This is a decent program which could use more explanations as to what actions to take based on the results instead of just what the results show. But, let's think about that...if they were to tell you what needed to be done, they'd only be hurt'n the same industry that's putt'in food on their table.

Good job...eagerly looking forward to your next release.

Thumbs up to GAOTD because without them...we'd still be wishing there was a site like this. End of story.

To #25 Lynne: the FTC may well be about to require that all 'shills' report themselves, but that's likely to be in the US of A. There's actually more to the universe than one country. Copenhagen wants a world government, but it hasn't happened yet.

Have a look at Ccleaner to see what unnecessary files you have on your notebook.

Program installed & activated with no difficulties. Ran an analysis of the one website I've done, which produced an amazing 536 page report. I agree, the report would be impressive to show a client. For the amount of work done, it ran quickly enough.

Now, I need to learn more about SEO and add appropriate keywords, something I've not done much of. The site hasn't gotten much traffic; perhaps we have a problem with the frames someone mentioned above? The blog (www.siggyscafe.com/blog) does get visitors thru search engines, but I am hoping this can be improved using the data Site Content Analyzer provided.

Really impressed with the details; every option & setting I tried worked correctly; one can change many parameters (column order, color, pages included/excluded, word length/compound words & many other settings can be refined; report can be exported into other, non-proprietary formats (HTML, PDF, RTF are a few), etc...

A VERY impressive program. Of all the programs downloaded from GOTD, this is among the most professional. I've been involved with software for over 30 years, since pre-PC days, and love freeware (!), so I try out a lot of them, although I don't usually comment.

As always, thanks GOTD and everyone. I learn a lot reading comments, following links for software & websites.

P.S. Fubar, finally you actually approve of a program (!) That should carry some weight here.

In response to http://www.c4micros.com on why you're not getting traffic....duh...your site sucks.
1. Why do you even place your site in that frame?
2. Graphic design? Helloooo? Colors? Come on...it looks like a 5 year chose those colors!
3. Why is the title "Home"? That's not very descriptive or helpful.
4. I think your site is scaring people away rather than helping. If I saw this site I would see the poor site design and not trust the quality of your product to be any better. Keep in mind that first impresssions are very important.
Sorry to have to give it to you straight.

#22, thanks for the DEP link, I definitely needed it. Cleverstat (GOD), you should include the DEP link (or customized explicit instructions) in the installation instructions. DEP is easy to turn on and forget. When it causes a problem it is rarely obvious that DEP is the root cause. ie I know enough to have decided to turn it on, but I would not have made the connection when the installation failed.

Install no problem, Activation an issue. During Activation even though I so no to all of the "options" it tried to install some sort of monitor. Since I said no to everything I consider that install SPYWARE! Fortunately it failed, but the activation worked. 2 thumbs up and 1 thumb down for install & activation.

When I ran it against a friend's site with a couple of dozen pages it ran quickly, a minute or two. I didn't notice CPU usage but machine was still responsive during run. From the other comments, and program intent, I would expect that it fully uses one "CPU" or Core. On an older single CPU/Core machine, it would be fully locked up but on newer dual and quad core machines it would use 1 of 2 or 1 of 4 CPUs, ie reported as up to 50% or 25% CPU use. It is reasonable to expect that scanning through pages counting occurrences of words would be CPU intensive.

I noticed immediately that the button bar had a "hints" box at right end. Nice feature. users note: there is also green question mark (help) that displays a legend of color meanings specific to each view/report. To the designers, maybe you could make that "button" more obvious (move it to left side?).

About the "RED" an "BLACK" words, the red simply means that there is a word the program thinks is a keyword that search engines could use. You, as the designer have to decide which words you want to concentrate upon based on your knowledge of the purpose of the site and the specific page.

After quick browse through the help file I was pleased. It has good instructions for using the program features. I think it has a better help file than the average GOD offering I've looked at.

I haven't got time to do a thorough test, but after a quick look I intend to keep it for further review. As one other comment pointed out, the target for this tool is very narrow, web site builders who ALSO do Search Engine Optimization.

@Wordperfect;

I've been visiting GAOTD for over a year now, and this is the first time I ever saw someone give a review that matches typical Ashraf standard. Thank you for making the time to share and explain, and nicely.

Admittedly, all those negative mentions, worthy ones at that, had me reluctant. Just so happens my fifth computer arrived today, with quad dual core and all that, so, GAOTD and Site Analyzer herein gives us a chance to see what it can do.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: If you are a web designer, programs like this do NOT come along very often where we do not have to pay. Most of the paid programs I've used SUCK a big wazoo; SITE ANALYZER appears to provide more than you may realize with just a few glances.
This is an unusual occurence, for me to ROUNDLY suggest you try a GAOTD offering.

Thank you to GAOTD and SITE ANALYZER... PS TO ASHRAF: How DARE you take a day off? Didn't you get a day off last year also? Geez, next thing you'll be wanting paychecks and lunch breaks :-)

My first post. Looked over the reviews and decided to try it.
Works well on XP Pro and Vista Business (both 32bit).
You're allowed the ability to generate reports but aren't allowed to insert the Author's Name or the Client's name so this program has limitations.

Program installed fine on Vista HP 32-bit. However, when I started Firefox this morning all my bookmarks were missing! Though I can't say for sure that this program is the culprit, installing it was the last thing I did last night and starting FF was the first thing I did this morning. Circumstantial evidence indicates the program is responsible. Has anyone else had this problem?

Fortunately, reinstalling Firefox restored my bookmarks!
