RE: @145-Septian

JIC (Just In Case) Septian still wants a reply...

Sorry but i can't really answer your questionSSSS...

A) Usually it not good idea to ax Q that show u not research first

B) Definitely not good idea to ax THREE Q as ONE jumble (U start it with open quotes '"' but have no close quotes '"'...)

C) Don't know when you actually ax - but u can't expect any rsvp the day AFTER offer opens. (Personally i have not had much 'luck' due to my LATE Q's - which is why i rsvp this... (Well, assuming it even gets past-posted.))

D) If not mistaken, Port 80 may be a common "exchange" "point" and, based on ur wording, it may be "closed" by ur 'firewall' - YOU MUST CHK this urself or have someone hlp u here (some 'people' can 'look' on your PC (via internet) to hlp - BUT if ur software blocks Port 80 - it may also block any "external help".
E) Don't get frustrated (ax vendor for hlp) and don't get feelings hurt by lack of interest in ur prob. by GOTD readers - afterall: u supposed to be evaluating the product and hlp others decide if they want to try it... (or, re 'mission stmt': hlp the vendor... which in turn hlps the readers and so on...)

Respectfully,
...

Works exactly as they say, easy to install, easy to use, and way way faster then I expected.
Ignore every single thumbs down because there is nothing bad about this!

Ever heard the phrase: waited ages for a bus then all of a sudden several come along at once?

Another good security and Ip hider to compare with Security Kiss :

www.spotflux.com

Grab it while you can. Free at present but eventually they will charge for the service .

Downloaded, installed and registered SecurityKissTunnelJadeite, and it 's working flawlessly, with zero issues on Windows XPHome with IE and Chrome browsers. First impression is its speed. I had no idea that it would be as fast as it is. And I was able to go to where previously I was unable to go. This is way cool. Thanks to UNA and GAOTD. If all continues to go well, I'll probably purchase. Thanks again for the free six month tryout.

What you're seeing isn't your own machines ports not stealthed, it's on Ultrasurf's side. Since GRC is thinking your IP is the one used for Ultrasurf, that's the one Sheilds Up is scanning.

Why don't you do it yourself its what I do, really simple and cheap. order a £5 vps account e.g. http://www.vpscolo.com/ with 250Gb traffic, install Open vpn or pptpd (pptpd preferred for windows connection) configure linux firewall for nat and hay presto a US gateway. works 100%, no spyware no dodgy software just twenty minutes googling for linux vpn (e.g, http://pigtail.net/nicholas/pptp/) and your up and running.

I got interested in Ultrasurf (which is at ultrasurf.us NOT ulrasurf.org, at least for those of us in the USA) and decided on a little test. With Internet Explorer running through Ultrasurf, I went to GRC.com and used the ShieldsUp! test. The "common ports" scan revealed two ports that were open (not stealthed), while the "all service ports" scan showed those two plus a third port not stealthed. I sent a screenshot of the scan to Ultrasurf. Just a FYI.

Like f x I´ts infected because my AV said so... Do you really think GAOTD and a company wishing to promote its product would put a virus in it???
What are you so afraid of?? Big Brother looking into which websites you visit? You naughty little terrorist! LOL!!!
If you want to keep your PC safe get an external (free) firewall and make sure it´s stealthed.
And if you´re buying a new PC, just copy the program from C:/programs to an external drive and then paste it to your new PC... easy...
Enjoy the free giveaway, you´ve got 6 months use for free!

Thank You GAOTD & Thank You UNA Company/SecurityKISS

First I down loaded the program here. Then I sent a e-mail to the web site using the Subject header SecurityKISS Give away I asked in the e-mail please send me registration info for using oyur program.

5 minutes later a E-mail arrived from securitykiss with my client number and password

I was given a address link to log onto

I logged in without a problem by using the client number and password sent to my email. Then I was provided with some options, one was to create a personable installer for installing there program on my pc.

I down loaded and saved the installer created just for my pc which was 2.58 megabytes in size, it downloaded in less than 3 seconds.

I Installed the program and logged on with it with in 2 minutes.

It installed as a home-run on the first try, which makes this as easy as my first girl friend

For those worried about viruses or malware I tested it using the following programs updated to the newest versions

Agnitum Outpost security pro 7.5 (GAOTD Version)

Registered & updated version of McAfee security suite 2012

Malwarebytes free edition

safer-networking spybot search&Destroy vs 1.62

It tested clean with no problems reported by any of the above programs

It works great on my XP Pro with SP3

This gets a huge thumbs up from me.

Plus this gives me an additional benefit one I never thought to see with out having to pay good money for a decent us ip. I can now go check out some of those US web sites that do not let us Canadian residents watch there on-line videos.

Which I think is very unfair...

Just why can Americans and some Europeans watch videos on Hula but not us Canadians?

Are they prejudiced or something?

It's not like our use of the video site is going to break it.

I find it is also the same thing with Netflix.

Why do my american friends have a significantly larger selection of TV Shows & Videos While us Canadians are given a significantly smaller choice?

Can anyone tell me why websites like Hula block Canadians from watching videos & why Netflix provides a significantly smaller selection of videos to Canadians & a much larger selection to Americans?

Thankfully after years of missing out on things that my southern neighbours can enjoy, this software now provides me with the means to see for myself just what it was I was missing for all these years.

It works to get around country firewall restrictions until someone adds their gateways to the blocked list. Other than that, if you are planning to do anything illegal with it. (what is illegal is different in a lot of countries and may include circumventing restrictions and downloading copyright protected data) When the FBI turns up at their offices with a warrant I bet all your data and activities will be logged in detail and handed over without question.

(wiki)

A shill, plant or stooge is a person who publicly helps a person or organization without disclosing that he has a close relationship with that person or organization. Shill typically refers to someone who purposely gives onlookers the impression that he is an enthusiastic independent customer of a seller (or marketer of ideas) that he is secretly working for. The person or group that hires the shill is using crowd psychology, to encourage other onlookers or audience members to purchase the goods or services (or accept the ideas being marketed). Shills are often employed by professional marketing campaigns.

@101: straight from their FAQ:
----------------------------------
* Do you keep logs of traffic through your tunnel?

For security reasons we collect information about user's IP address and connection time.
What information is kept in logs and how long are the logs stored?

We store logs containing connect/disconnect time, IP address and also traffic volume to control usage for every user.

Detailed logs are automatically deleted after 10 days and the only information that is kept for a long time is total usage.

* I am concerned about the amount of information stored about the users using your VPN. What information do you keep? Websites visited, usernames, passwords, etc?

As a completion to previous response - we do not store logs with information about traffic type or content. Your data is decrypted and sent directly to destination.

Very bizarre comments above.
It works with no problems or virus alerts for me.

Yes, data at the other end of the pipe is your problem. Depends what you're using it for. If it's to get around country firewall restrictions it's gold dust.

If you want to be dabbling in possibly illegal hacktivist activities? You should know better than 95% of the comments of the above, keep your wits about you, do your own tests, and use all the obscuration techniques you would if it wasn't there at all anyway.

As an additional layer that might annoy your own country's ISP based monitoring though, it's worth it for 6 months. It probably messes up google /facebook etc IP tracking as well which is just fine and dandy by me. Especially at the price.

Don't mess with this software if you really do not NEED the supposed "benefits" of installing it - and then only for 6 months.

Presumably it screws your internet settings. Hopefully you can undo all that later if necessary.

What's with watching TV shows with this?
Don't we have enough trouble trying to cope with (not enough time to watch them all) watching our paid-for numerous cable TV channels and free-to-air TV channels?

Security of your data/private information? Basically, it is saying, TRUST ME. This is a personal decision each person has to make.

@110 - There are loads of good VPN services out there. I have used Glodenfrog's VyprVPN and it was great speed wise and had a pretty good server selection. Have also used HMA! Pro and it was good too, though it's oversea's speeds were not as fast, but the server list is massive. CyberGhost VPN is also out there and as a free service, but has 1/GB per month. There paid service isn't too much, though I have not tried it. Here's a site of good reviews: http://myvpnreviews.com/

I've only used SecurityKISS a bit, but haven't had any problems with it thus far.

Ultrasurf is a freeware proxy application. It works as a free VPN without installation. It tunnels all the http(s) traffic on the port 9666 through SSL to an American server. By using it, one can bypass censorship as well as stay anonymous on the internet. http://www.ultrasurf.org/

Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security. Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, and it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location. Tor works with many of your existing applications, including web browsers, instant messaging clients, remote login, and other applications based on the TCP protocol. https://www.torproject.org/

I've tried to install both. I found ultrasurf very easy to use. Internet Explorer seems to be the default browser that it uses, but Mozilla Firefox has a browser addon to help with the proxy configuration. Tor is used by journalists doing sensitive investigations; but, in 12 months, I still can't get it to work for me (probably because I'm not computer-saavy).

In view of the fact that the USA, UK, Australia, NZ, and Canada use Echelon http://bit.ly/tWp6br to spy on us all, I doubt that there is a truly safe and private way to operate and communicate over the internet. Nevertheless, I find the software useful for my research (gaining access to overseas sites that are inaccessible without the software).

It should also be noted that some sites block 9666 and some antivirus software identifies ultrasurf as malicious - but one can't know who is messing with us: the companies making the VPN or those controlling some of the antivirus companies. I safeguard myself by not communicating very sensitive information over the internet and absolutely never post my personal details on any site - let's not do Big Brother's work for them ;)

Win XP SP3 instals prog and certificate in C drive. I would prefer the option to install where I want it .
Appears to work flawlessly. Checked with IP sites and hides IP , but the rest of info your computer and browser gives ( right down to number of fonts installed will identify a computer if someone really wanted to.

As an example Operation Foxdon was a scheme the FBI ran with the NSA who offered 30 Million dollars and technical assistance to assist Mr Davis and Bayat
to instal extra ciruits in their license to build Afganhistans first mobile phone, internet and international call system in 2000, to record or listen to every single land and
line or mobile phone calls in Afganhistan and monitor the telephone gateways channeling international calls in and out of the Country.Byats Company TSI , Telephone Sytems International.

In the UK Menwith hills house the UKs data snooping . Nobody's data is 100 per cent secure. The only way is to encrypt it with something like true crypt or early free PGP versions,
( later ones are supposed to have a back door).

Knowing that the authorities could get your data or track you, it is still worth stopping hackers or others compromising you , so I would say it is still worth downloading security kiss and giving it a try .

Well apparently I spoke too soon. It has stopped working for me altogether. It says it's connecting to remote non-US servers (I tried them all). But after I'm connected several IP lookup pages say I'm still located where I really am (cookies and caches deleted between retries).

Uninstalling.. it seems to work about 20% of the time and has literally played heck with my network adapter and internet settings in the meantime (despite an effortless install).

My search for a reliable VPN continues.

For those complaining about the free service only lasting 6 months, please consider how a company is maintaining a few dozen servers around the globe with thousands of new clients riding for free. It's pretty generous if you consider the costs.

I suggest that you don't run the GOTD setup and go for the email directly. The installer they give you is the complete package. As so, you don't have to go through the setup twice. (The download is not just a certificate bundle. It's the program plus the bundle. Save it and install it on your different computers within 6 months if you'd like.)

#92 Glen2:

You're misunderstanding me. I'm NOT necessarily trying to browse anonymously. Actually.. I already have a few safeguards that allow me to do that as well. My problem arises when I try to download a file (HTTP.. not torrenting) through some of the ''foriegn'' file sharing sites that blocked US IPs AFTER the feds shutdown Megaupload. Many of them now simply state that they do not allow any US connections anymore.

This software allows me to circumvent that by ''spoofing'' the content provider into thinking I'm in another country altogether, and yes, it works. I've already tried it a couple of times (W764).

I actually had some problems though with disconnects and a cut-off of my internet access altogether after installing this, but so far, a reset of my cable modem.. a few cold reboots and a couple ''rediscoveries'' of my network settings cured that.. but time will tell.

So with one program you can get a USA address and a UK address ?

I often want to watch something on BBC but need a UK web address,

Hope it works for that , or if I ever get to China and really need it :)
