It was a 4 meg file, to be exact: 4.37 MB (4,592,214 bytes)

People aren't interested in large rss files, especially with rss readers, and for some that use there Outlook clients to view rss, definitely not worth waiting around for 4meg.

The rss application is useless, but each to there own. The software is more aimed at people away from word press blogs etc as they do create there own rss feeds, and more aimed at people with basic websites.

Like all software installs, Create a Restore Point before installing. Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.
Then if you have some software that is causing you problems go back to the Restore point. This may save you a lot of grief someday.

Erik (#19) - If the database gets output to a web page, you could probably easily export that to RSS. Otherwise, it would be easier to use some programming language to have the database exported directly to RSS instead.

lyn (#23) - http://www.whatisrss.com/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format) will help you understand what RSS ("Really Simple Syndication", though it used to be "RDF Site Summary" and "Rich Site Summary" - technically none of those are the same, but those're details you don't need to worry about) is. :>

TK (#30) - Not to mention that most uninstallers also ask before removing shared DLLs.

Arrgh... The unistaller for these extralab RSS Feed manipulation tools is broken because it blindly unregisters shared DLL's OCX's etc!

This means if one uninstals this Lite offering it will break the Full Feed editor we instaled before back in March.

ExtraLab, Microsoft maintain a counter of applications using shared DLL's etc that is supposed to be incremented upon application installation and decremented on uninstall and the DLL's only offered to the user for removal when the count reaches zero and not before!
You should also do a version check of your shared files that you want to install into the System(32) folder to make sure yours are newer than existing versions.
