Thank you all for your comments, good and bad. My biggest regret was that I could not 'be here' yesterday. I tried to push this promotion back some due to that, but we were locked in. I was finishing a daunting personal move, so couldn't do two things at once.

First, for ProBalance there is our demo app and description page, for those who haven't seen it: http://bitsum.com/about_probalance.php

Second, I can tell you that after spending a decade on ProBalance, it is effective even on multi-core PCs. On single core PCs there should be no debate at all, it's been absolutely proven. As an example of real world benefits: On my multi-core development system, large project builds (done in parallel) make this PC 'stutter' in responsiveness when ProBalance is not in effect.

So, for me, I truly notice the difference when Process Lasso isn't running. I'm sure there are some users who wouldn't notice any difference though - it does depend somewhat on how you use your PC, your hardware and software -- the combination of which I coin as the 'executive environment'.

Lastly, besides ProBalance there are countless 'rules' you can set to make processes work *your* way. Default CPU or I/O priorities, default affinities, default power profiles... there are lots of rules and options. There is really no questioning the utility of these features to those who need them.

I also really love the new Energy Saver feature. I am told some motherboard manufacturers have included similar types of utilities, but I love it. I always prefer to run in the High Performance power profile (which I have customized), and this lets me do so without having to manually revert it.

So, a day late, there are my words to everyone ;). I thank all of you who have supported this project.

Don't under estimate this program...recently could not find the exe of a malware disguising itself in my pc and taking over the browser..it dawned on me to use Lasso to slowly identify the exe and cancel to allow the other programs to go in and remove it. Lasso's identification of running programs and history did what two other spyware programs could NOT do. (it comes in great as a RAM saver as well, but that day this program was priceless!)

@103 bruce. in no xpert.so take these w a grain of salt! it's possibly a firewall and/or malware shields are blocking access,& are waiting for you click-allow/deny- permission, via either 1-a quick-action window or 2-a popup near taskbar tray. sometimes these can be covered by other open pages.or the alerts are configures for short time display or not to display at all. hope this helps resolve the hiccup in time to get the pl pro program, which , as a 1st time user, i'm stunned by the improved performmance achieved by installing pl pro on a 4mo.old, 1 slot max mem=2mg samsung notebook=cant adding memory, or running win7 aero was nt an option.still cant add mem,. but firefox n chrome no longer crashes. kudos bitsum

Installed on Win 7 64 bit. Easy to install. To activate just click on Help tab once the program is launched and then enter your name and the activation code that is in the readme.txt file. Simple. Then be sure to close and relaunch the program and voila you have the pro version in effect. Seems to be easy to use. When installing I used the developer's recommended selections with the exception of the beginning when I checked that all elements be installed. Figure I can get rid of any I don't want but want to see how it works. Don't notice it slowing down my system but will play with it awhile to reap full benefits. Seems like a useful program, my virus software had no problem with it. Thanks GOTD!!

What is the difference between the version 3 and this version 5?

I've installed version 5 over version 3 and so far, it seems ok. So, do not need to un-install version 3. It works.

@ 37 Tranmontane

I guess if you are using all the slots and can not add anymore RAM this program might work for you. Now that you mentioned it i am going to try it on my old laptop.

No problems with installing and activating on several PC's here.

Downloaded 32-bit version on my old XP machine, unzipped, ran setup, and it ran fine and started the program. Within program, clicked on Help, then activate. Copy/pasted the activation number from the GAOTD box, and put that in the activation number box, and my name in the name box. Then did Main, shutdown process lasso then restarted the program. Shows it's activated to me. Seems to be working just fine.

Did the same process on Win7 64-bit machine. On one of them, I had downloaded the 32-bit version, so the setup asked if I wanted to download and install the 64-bit version, I said yes, then installed and activated as above. Also did on another Win7 64-bit machine from downloading the 64-bit version. That worked fine as well.

Not sure why some folks have activation problems, unless they have a firewall issue.

All is okay so far.
