Yes, John, if you check the README file it says in there:
"PURPOSE: This software was designed just to fool John.G.Thekkekara. Shh! Do not tell him. Ok, you can tell him after he has accured it. All others can use it for converting powerpoint presentations to video."

I would ask for your money back.

BTW: Forgot to mention that this product attempts to put a toolbar into PowerPoint but isn't compatible with PowerPoint 2007. It's only compatible with 2003 and earlier.

#24, #51: actually, I got the same message.
And it was quite sensible.
After the install, the audio codecs in my PC were all messin' around - many missing -, the audio options were upside down, and I had to restore the backup image of my whole system.
Not a nice joke, but nothing not manageable.

By the way, apart this shortcoming, I was appreciating this piece of software.

#57: I have some question!
- How to "grow a brain" ? please post instruction!
- Can I grow 2 brains? or just one?
- After grow a brain, does need activated?
- My brain worked yesterday, but today I try it and no work. Says ERROR. pls help.

:)

Oh, and...
Helpful Tip from the Advanced Specialist:
If you would like a FREE POWERPOINT VIEWER, you can get this one for free. If you have a powerpoint presentation but not powerpoint program, like if somebody emailed one to you for business or something, you can use this to view it. (Free from MICROSOFT)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=428D5727-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en

And if you have powerpoint and you use it a lot in your job or research, here is a site that has some simple free Powerpoint background images and theme slides. Including gold bars, Animated Blue Plasma, Computer Tech, Certificates of Appreciation, Colored Prisms, etc. You've heard of Ugly Betty? Well, this is the brainy one: http://www.brainybetty.com/MENUPowerPoint.htm

And here is a QUESTION TIMER, presentation for powerpoint. You would use this for example while making a little test and would give the viewer 1 minute to answer the question or so: http://www.brainybetty.com/timer.zip

Next, if you ever have the need to convert a powerpoint presentation into Adobe PDF file, you can use this: http://www.primopdf.com/ This essentially lets you print to PDF.

Ok, hope that was helpful to you.

Installed it. Tried to run a 10 screen PPT through it to convert to AVI. After sitting there using 100% of my CPU power for about 10 minutes with no change in the first screen, I canceled it. Haven't had time to experiment with it anymore. But have a negative feeling that this is not going to work well.

Also, note the following restrictions:
Please note that the software you download and install during
the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
1) No free technical support
2) No free upgrades to future versions
3) Strictly non-commercial usage

The app was easy to install (activation before installation for registry prep? Whoa!) and file conversions work OK for me. The slide transitions are not as smooth as in PPT but tolerable, even at 60 fps. The appearance that one can actually convert to true DVD is a bit misleading: the app cannot create the IFO, BUP and VOB trio. The novice will be confused by the video options of framerate, audio bitrate, etc.; but if he or she sticks with the default PPT to AVI or MPEG-1 settings, this little program will prove quite handy. I regard PPT2Video Scout more as a proprietary screen capture software. But, frankly, I do like it.

Well people. Today was truly a remarkable day in history, indeed.
It was 'the' most enjoyable of comment-runs in a very very long time.
I am serious here.
Thank you #20 (Shelz) for your (hopefully) unique sarcasm.
#49 (where's my head)... Brilliant, respectful, and humble comeback.
My respect goes out to you. You're touche', was admirable.

Everybody else who participated today with comments all deserve thankyou's from one another....so I will be the first (oooop-ps....didn't mean to use that ugly word at all, sorry) Let me just say.... Awesome run of comments people. I think And HOPE, we all learn as we go along.

Liking this site and those who "share" it more & more.....I see it growing.
