I'd add my thumbs-up to the Digiarty WinX programs mentioned here. (Also to their HD Video Converter program, later rebranded as VideoProc.) While my "Go To" for DVDs has mainly been DVDFab, I've found the WinX programs to also be quite effective, as claimed. It's always a good idea to have alternatives on hand. You never know when you might need one. Another that I like (despite installation issues with it on some computers) is MakeMKV, particularly for use with Blu-Ray discs. That one has been "free while in Beta" for at least a couple years at this point, but the key only lasts for a couple months and then you need to update it again -- still for free -- with a new key that is published at their website. I like to have all of these options available. Since my WinX versions are not older than 2018, I'll have to see how much of a need there may be to update them. The details state: "Need WinX DVD Ripper Platinum version to remove DRM & DVD encryption to rip/digitize/backup/play DVD, go ahead to get free license of DVD ripper Platinum", but clicking the link appears to just take you to the web page for the product. Anyone find how to obtain the "free licence" for the DVD Ripper Platinum? Would be nice to update it also,

I downloaded this just fine, but right after I double-clicked on the Setup.exe file, all it did was show a box that said it was successfully activated and it showed the activation key. That was it. I thought there would be some kind of actual installation of it. When I looked in my Programs folder, it doesn't show up in there, either. So, where do I find it? Also, how do I go about registering it? The ReadMe file doesn't give any info as to how to go about registering it.

enigma333, you have to disable your antivirus before you download,don’t Ask me why, but it has been so for years here on gaotd. So therefor you have to decide wether it is worth the risk, but I did it and it worked well. Let my antivirus program examine the pc afterwords. No problem.

Kjell, I disabled my AV program and WinX installed just fine. However, now it's saying it's only a trial version unless I buy the full upgrade. Is this giveaway just a trial version for a limited time? When I did the setup earlier, it already told me the program was already activated and gave me the activation key. There was no place that told me to enter the key during the installation. After the installation, there was a box that popped up, but that was the one that said I only had the trial version, and that if I wanted the full upgrade version, I needed to buy the program for the price they were asking for, and that after I bought it I could enter the activation key into the box. Am I supposed to enter that code in that box even though I haven't bought anything?

Kjell, disregard my last comment. I did enter the activation key in that box and it said activation was successful, again. I just don't understand why I had to enter my activation key twice. Both times it told me it was successful. Anyway, I'm all set up. Thanks anyway. :)

This program was last given away here on GOTD on January 31, 2019, as version 3.9.1. This current version (3.9.2) is the first to drop support for XP in the requirements statement, so if you are using XP, and have that previous version, it is up to you to decide if you want to see if this version will still install on an XP OS. On my old XP computer I have a version several years old that works terrific - the 2014 giveaway called Winx DVD Ripper Platinum. I have used it to backup some of my favorite movies. On my newer windows 10 computer I have a more recent Oct. 2018 WinX given away. That older 2014 app on XP has never had a problem and it works about two to three times faster at backing up a movie than the newer 2018 version that I have on my windows 10 computer. I purchased their Lifetime License in the newer version yet it asks me to re-register every few times I use it. The newer version, according to Windows Task Manager uses nearly four times as much CPU as the largest running apps. How does today's Copy Pro differ from Ripper? Do I get any additional benefit with Copy Pro over Ripper?

Absolutely the BEST DVD copy of all! Years ago I found it here and pruchased for all my machines. It has many features like loading to ISO, protection elimination, etc. I also tried and purchased their DVD rRipper product. Also GREAT! Get this and try it. You will love it.

I got the download link in my email. Prog downloaded and installed perfectly. I looked all over for a place to enter the registration number but, like a previous reviewer, I guess I don't need to since I already had a previous version.

Jon651 here again with an installation report: Downloaded quickly with no problem. Program included the standard GOTD wrapper which posed no issues for me. Program extracted and installed as expected - what wasn't expected is that since I installed it over a previous version (3.8.0 I believe) that I got from GOTD it was automatically registered (no need to enter a new registration code). The only physical difference I notice is the updated version number. I considered clicking on "Remove License" and entering the new code but I'm not going to bother unless I find out that it doesn't work. I will look around for a recent movie to copy and see how it performs but based on my past experience I don't think I will have any problems.
