Alleged works with XP.
Lifetime licence.
Pre-activated, no complicated download.
But the one MP4 that I wish to convert for a special reason,
when I tried, "There was an error while trying to convert".
The file has often been used and works well.
A disappointment.

I sort of find this useless in that you cannot control the video once converted but simply play it.

jack flash, I Agree Jack! The first question I had/have was Why would I want/need to convert a Video to an .exe?

JonE,
To stop someone from altering your video. Once in exe format you can't load the file into a video editor.

Brian,
well it makes it slightly more difficult, but there are several ways of ripping it, including screen capture

What is executable files ? I need somebody to educate me.

Reply   |   Comment by Ajayi  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

Ajayi , A EXE file is ( basically ) a 'program'...one that you can just double click to run it :-) So this will take a video file and turn it into a 'executable' file...or 'program'.

Ajayi , it simply means you don't need a video player to show the video. It plays itself without any additional program. The recipient simply double clicks the file and it plays regardless if they have a video player installed. But the other points listed are well taken. Most malware detection programs will stop an executable file from running, but some do ask if you wish to proceed and will allow the program to run.

Dennis W Comito, ... and (for Ajayi again) video player is another type of executable file!

"The output video exe only can play video that windows media player can play. The effect is same as window media player. If your end user cannot play the video correctly, maybe he does not install corresponding Codec. "

"I don't find a reason to do that."- too.

Anybody can explain to me why convert video files to executable files?

Reply   |   Comment by Emir  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+34)

Emir, Only reason I can think of is to hide that it is a video file.

Blackhat, possibly to find a way around filters/screeners that may block video/audio files, while allowing .exe files!

Emir,

"... explain to me why convert video files to executable files?"

Years ago there were lots of different codecs [video formats] in use, and if/when you gave someone a video file, it was iffy whether they could play it or not. That's one reason Flash became popular for video -- everyone could play video in a Flash container as long as they had Flash installed. But IMHO using Flash was more for pros, not the average person, so bundling your video with a player in an executable file that anyone could run was a potential solution, though AFAIK it never gained that much popularity. Today you can put your video in the AVC/H.264 format and nearly everyone can play it, with built-in support on everything from Windows to cell phones, tablets, etc.

I don't find a reason to do that.
