Looks like useful software, but I can't find anywhere to enter the registration data.
It seems to work okay, so I suppose I will use it until it quits if it quits due to non-registration.

What I called the tab area is the menu line under the product name and version at the top. Starts with "Open PDF Document". I had a tab called "Registration" between "Preferences" and "About". Once I registered the product that tab disappeared. The registration panel asked for a name and the license code found in the readme.txt file.

Downloaded, installed and activated very easily. I always find that carefully reading the Read Me file gets things done quickly. I've had a swift try of this and I must say that, having tried quite a few PDF converters in the past, this is the best one ever for me. Not perfect but more practice may make it even better.

I already gave them my email address but in the last 30 minutes didn't get back an email from them containing the download link. And they don't even accept my email a 2nd time. So I had no chance to test the business version of the PDF Multitool.
Anyway, what I did was testing the freeware version from https://cdn.bytescout.com/PDFMultitool.exe
I tried to convert a PDF file that contained a scanned German content to a text file. I used
OCR Mode = Auto
Language = German
Grade = Best
The result was disappointing. Far too many typos.
I did this kind of test the other day with some free online PDF to TXT converters. They were much better!
Just google for "free online pdf to txt converters". There is no need install anything.

To answer a few questions below.... I had to suspend Avast to install the program. It states that in the read me. With Avast active I got no message, it just didn't install. The registration code is in the readme.txt file. Once installed click "registration" in the tab area. I did not get a message saying it was successful but the tab disappeared so I guess it worked. The Program is located in the drive selected\Program Files (x86)\ByteScout PDF Multitool. I would guess that you couldn't find it because the anti virus actually stopped the install but didn't alert you of the condition.

VicS,
I couldn't install the program even when I clicked "Disable until computer is restarted" in Avast. After the installation, the program was just no where to be found!

It was the first time that this had happened to me with my "giveaway of the day" installations.

Registration: This my help others who don't find a place to register the program. When I installed it there was no "registration" button like others mentioned. I finally figured out that it was because I had a previous registered version on my system. The new install must have used the previous registration. To test that, my husband installed it on a system that never had a previous version and it clearly showed a "registration" button to the right of the "Preferences" button. Once he registered then the "registration" button was no longer visible.

2 (possible) issues so far.

1-downloaded, unzipped, and installed as per the read-me file. Copied the reg code provided in the box under "Registration". Program does not save that information, but did get the COTD webpage saying the program is successively activated.

2- Opened a PDF. The PDF showed up with a thin diagonal line across it, which also showed when the file was converted to PNG. This line was -not- on the original PDF, which I confirmed by opeing file in my usual PDF viewer.

Will have to explore more, but probably will keep this.

SewMagical, please inform where exactly in menu or other place in

PDF Multitool for Business to find box for "Registration".

In my installed program I can not find such box for "Registration".

Thanks in advance for quick response

Edgar, sorry for the delay in my response to you.

There is a menu bar near the top of the screen, which has a "Registration" item. Clicking on that opens a dialogue box with spaces for name and registration code.

Installed and registered the program easily. So far test some PDF files to convert to text and to HTML, results are all good. It would be better if they can expand more languages on OCR, and also can convert to WORD document with original format since they are able to capture images as files and detect the XML and HTML coding. Overall, this is a good PDF utility program.

WHERE is this installed? I've installed it TWICE and cannot find it, even using search terms pdf and multitool! I'd like to try it out but can't until I can launch it!

Checking the Program Files (x86) folder I find nothing with ByteScout, so I suppose my install was also aborted, perhaps by an antivirus. Will have to investigate but thanks for the info.

Success! Disabling Avast for 10 minutes allowed installation. Registration went without a hitch but no confirmation other than the "Registrer" tab disappeared. Looks like a winner. Converted a 1 page pdf to text perfectly. This is a keeper. Thanks, GOTD.

For those having problems registering the software: The 'Registration' tab was available only when I first opened it, in the tool bar, between 'Preferences' and 'About'. After registration, that tab was gone. That makes me feel if somebody already had an older version, the 'Registration' tab might not even be available.

Ran a quick test and wasn't impressed. The PDF file I opened had some graphics that were not converted correctly. The free Icecream PDF converter did a way greater job.

I would like to know where to put the license key. I only found this from their website. It doesn't really help much.

Will our license key expire after 12 months?
PDF.co Web API: no! your API key works perpetually.
SDK products: no, but you need to renew your subscription to update the product
Cloud API Server: no, but you need to renew your subscription to run the product

Registered quickly and easily. Tested on a .pdf file. It used OCR to quickly convert the .pdf to a .txt file. A quick scan shows 100% accuracy. You would always want to proofread important documents, but it seems highly accurate.

The only thing that would be better would be if it would convert to a Word document and retain the formatting.

Thank you GOTD!

Nowhere to put in the new registration code? It retained my username from a previous installation, but I can't see where to update the new registration code.. anybody?

Reply   |   Comment by Anny  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

Anny, I had the same situation, so tried installing on a backup partition and there is a Registration button that appears there, but it wasn't on the original attempt to install it. This is a new program on each system.

Reply   |   Comment by Leo  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Anny, when I opened the program for the first time, there was a Register button on the top row, second from right. After I registered, the button disappeared. It may have kept your registration from before.

Gina, If you do not see the tab Register (second th the right) in the menu, your copy is already activated. Perhaps you have installed and activated the previous version, given away on April 2, 2018.

In readme is a note "Commercial usage is allowed", but in Licence agreement is written, that YOU CAN USE SOFTWARE FOR PERSONAL NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY.
So, it is allowed use it in commercial way or not? According LA I thing its not....

Reply   |   Comment by Filip Kavan  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

Good point, Filip. I wonder how many businesses are non-commercial and stay in business? When there is a conflict between two parts of an agreement, then the interpretation most favorable to the user (i.e., against the maker of the contract) is taken.

Filip Kavan, I think it means while you can use it in your business as an everyday tool, you can’t offer it as a service to others to make money.
